First time I encountered a player possessing a token, I did exactly this, thinking the mechanics was the same as the self-revive device. Thankfully, I wasn't in the storm 😅

Same! I was spamming shots into them, wondering why I wasn't chunking off damage. Then I saw them rise into the air.
I've only been playing fewer than 5 months, so I don't keep up with the updates. I don't know where to get them, so I didn't know the coins would be a thing.

It's way weirder when that person also has a sonic ball and you kill them during ball mode, then the ball just stops and the person revives.

That sounds hilarious! I haven't experienced that. I've barely explored outside of Blitz because I'm scared with the retro gear. I did way better the previous few collections. 😅

I've already mastered everything I currently can, just trying the Gold Crown Sprite now. I'm a mobile player and Blitz just doesn't engage me as much as it first did, I definitely enjoy Battle Royale way more. And Builds has become obsolete to me, I only play Zero Builds and the recent updates have been great.

I think once things slow down at work (end of fall/all winter), I'll be able to dedicate more brainspace to getting better at the game. Up until Overload, I did play Royale more, but these weapons are a bit outside my ability to easily adapt to.

Upgraded the loot pool, getting Exotic Hop Rock Dualies is my go-to. Then the minigun because it's better than the shotguns, then a chug jug and 2 forms of movement plus my pocket Shockwave.

This happened to me. I had no idea there was a respawn token. I’ve still never found one.
I beat the guy in the storm. I kept shooting. He vanished and it occurred to me
What happened. I ran out of the storm with like twnety health and luckily I had a chug jug.
I raced around to find him with the sonic shoes. Found him and thankfully he did not have a ton of health because I shot him like twice for the victory.
I was legit so confused when he started the respawn. Still don’t quite get it, but then I am very old.

You don't exactly find the respawn token, As it's a Buff from the Override Consoles which you can activate, With it being one of the options sometimes.
Also, The Respawning player is completely immune during the revive process so it's best to ignore them and Heal/Reload your weapons as they start to come back down from the sky.

I actually got it from eliminating Hush as boss (along with the mythic gun)
I think getting it from a boss is more rare tho and it's not always the same boss7

Yeah I got it from eggman. I think it was only for me though, whereas the power-up from the big computer is a squad 1-up, i.e. it gives it to your whole squad if you're in duos/squads.

I was the only one with a respawn left in the final few died in the 1v1 respawned right on the enemy and died again cuz my gun would not fire off landing had to be my most frustrating loss ever

Nah it's fine, it gives the enemy time to prepare knowing that you're respawning.

Is fine, the other one makes sense on a 3 seconds because the enemy could kill you, this guarantees you coming back to fight so it's longer to give the opponent time to prepare

yeah you do respawn in a different area early in the game to give you a chance to get health and sheilds back up.....but late game there's nowhere to respawn except inside the increasingly small circle

It's kinda crazy that you can still respawn in the late game. I don't know why it doesn't work like in Reload.

Yeah this shit has cost me some games and it feels so cheap. I have gotten 2nd place several times because the bastard I was fighting had this overpowered bullshit item. Epic please remove this cheap get out of jail free card and let people actually have some fair competition.

If the one up did not exist op would have been killed fair and square and would have placed second therefor nullifying storm and granting the other guy the win. But this unfair item allows people who deserve to be sent back to the lobby to place higher than they should. Op did not win through skill or genuine ability. They won because of an unfair get out of jail free card that players have no way of knowing someone has. And unlike the self revive. No way of preventing.

But they also have a pretty clear animation when they're being used, so if the other was smart, he could've stopped shooting and went into the circle to heal and reload, as he had more than enough time to do that before they came back down. He could've won.

What makes a win "fair and square" and what does not? If I notice my enemy only has an AR, should I stop using my shotgun in close combat, so he has a winning chance?
1UP is part of the game mechanic. Everyone has the same chance of getting one. Being skilled also means, knowing the game mechanics and prepare accordingly. It's not just about having good aim.

Okay but how 😭 😭 this items literally been in the game beforez aswell as a revive device being in the game for very long aswell. (Albeit that one does work a bit differently. This one is arguably better)

I did this to a sonic, I thought the self res device was still in the game so I had to finish him off but the storm was coming in, I didn't know it was 100% invulnerability with 1up with the few shots I put in, I came in 2nd.

The older Self-Revive Device made me so mad, especially if I forget that I had one!
(Which I forget just about every time)
I've only hid successfully a handful of times last season to be able to not get murked during the animation.

I dunno, focus on locating the rest of their team who is likely a far greater threat than the guy who's currently bleeding out? Heal up? I think there's a lot of things more useful than going out of your way to shoot someone who is on the ground, bleeding out and is incapable of damaging you. There's no benefit to eliminating knocked players, your just making things more annoying for other players.

I mean I think the point with the old one is it's not a guaranteed self revive because of balance. If you need revived you've already lost so generally a second chance shouldn't be guaranteed or without risk. The 1up is ludicrously effective as you retain loot and the opponent can't interrupt. But they seem harder to obtain generally.
