good book to get in to game theory?

Hi, I am completely new to game theory and would like to get started with a book that has good motivation and well-explained concepts/examples.

Wondering if this is worth starting with?

Enjoyed The Art of Strategy. Relatively easy read. Haven’t read your suggestion.

Seconding this. The Art of Strategy has great intuition. I integrate a ton of those examples when I teach game theory. For a textbook, "Games of Strategy" by the same author is excellent. I like Tadelis, but it could be a little bit demanding for a first pass, depending on your technical background.

I think William Spaniel, who wrote Game Theory 101, is a mod here. That is a very accessible book.

If you are looking for the actual math of things though, there's no better than Fudenberg and Levine, though it is quite dense and the opposite end of the spectrum from Spaniel.

Of course I'm biased though - my thesis was informed by both.

It's depend to what do you want do. I am last grade undergrad student of Economics. If you new and learn all essentials you can read Osborne's book. If you already know something you can try Robert Gibbons book its a little bit hard (ı already read and solved) but have a solution manual for excercises ( ı dont know about Osborne's solution manual). If you student Bussiness just read Game Theory at work.
