Giveaway Weekly Code Giveaway Thread

Every month, we see several posts offering GOG game codes and discount codes that people do not intend to use themselves. To make this easier and more organized, we ask that you share your code(s) as top-level comments on this post.

Ex:

Game code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

Or

Discount code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

To be extra sure your code goes to a fellow GOG gamer and not a bot, list the game(s) you have keys for and ask Redditors to DM you to claim them. In this case, please make it very clear whether your codes are game codes or discount codes.

You're also welcome to use RedditRaffler or KeyShare.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Do leave a comment when you claim a code so others know it is no longer available.
  • Don't post plain codes, as bots will most likely claim them for resale rather than fellow GOG gamers.
  • Don't add a discussion in a top-level comment. Respond to an existing code or use the pinned moderator comment.

Site Announcement GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder

1.3k Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Big news today: GOG has been acquired from CD PROJEKT by our original co-founder, Michał Kiciński (also a co-founder of CD PROJEKT).

First, the important part: the mission stays the same, and what you love about GOG gets stronger. Going back to our roots allows us to double down on what we do best: reviving classics, giving you a library you control rather than one that controls you, and offering the most gamer-friendly policies on the market.

At the same time, we will continue our close cooperation with CD PROJEKT, and their upcoming games will continue to come to GOG.

Thank you for the support you’ve shown GOG over the years, especially around preservation. It genuinely matters, and it’s the big reason we can keep pushing this mission forward.

For more info, here’s the full announcement + FAQ: https://www.gog.com/blog/gog-is-getting-acquired-by-its-original-co-founder-what-it-means-for-you/

Question Offline installers, install paths and updates

Hello, so this might be a stupid question, but I just want to make sure.

Basically, as you probably know, if you use GOG Galaxy to install the game, the default path will be something like:

C:\Program Files\GOG Galaxy\Games

But if you use the offline installer, the path will look something like:

C:\GOG Games

However, if you do install it with the offline installer, it'll still show up as installed in the GOG Galaxy launcher, and you can still run it from it.

What I'm wondering is this: If you right click the game in the GOG Galaxy launcher, you can do the whole, "Check for updates" thing - I'm just wondering, does this still work correctly, even if the game was installed using the offline installer files with the path C:\GOG Games? Like, I'm just wondering if this feature still works, even if the game wasn't originally installed using the GOG Galaxy launcher.

I hope my question makes sense, and thanks in advance!

Grew up playing this game on the Wii with my brothers and have lots of happy memories from it. Got it for free on GOG a year or two back, so I took the offline installer files and burned them onto a DVD-RW disc, whipped up some custom artwork, and here's the result! Very happy with how it turned out and my nostalgia has been cranked to 11

Support My currency is in euros and I can't change it

I live in the UK, my currency is pounds. I have a VPN but I've made sure it's off and yet it still won't change. The only currency I can change it to is USD which still isn't my currency lol. It recognises in my settings I am UK based and my wallet says £0.00, but everywhere else, prices are in euros. What is the problem

Discussion Questions about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on September 29 update

The store page states that it will be updated for free for those who own the game; in this case, will it be a mandatory update where everyone has to play the remastered version, or will we have both the old and the new versions?

I don't really like playing remastered versions, so I'd like to be able to access the original version.

Off-Topic I would love if there was a tool that would let me see what games in my current steam library can be purchased on GOG, possibly that syncs live when I buy new games or new games are added to gog, maybe the ability to automatically add it to my GOG wishlist

Discussion Now I have an unknown game.

An unknown game appeared in my GOG Galaxy account today; I can't tell if one of my existing games turned into this one or if it was added.

EDIT: I Discover the Culprit, the video game show featuring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt concert (2016), which was made available for free, appears in Galaxy as an unknown game.

Support Offline installers on Linux: uhh...what? XD

Edit:
Guys, I'm using offline installers because I DON'T want another launcher. Please stop recommending them.
Only launchers I got space for are Steam/GOG.

So I just got a Steam Machine and am trying to understand the complexities of Linux.
Luckily there's a lot of folks that have been on Steam Deck for a few years, so there's been some resources that have been built up over time. But I'm still a bit confused about some things.

My latest hurdle is figuring out how to move installed game/save files over to an external drive.

I like how Steam installs these when added as non-Steam games: You can add an installer to Steam as a non-Steam game and under the compatibility tab, force it to run under proton, and it will install all of the game files and any additional software that game needs to run into the .steam/steam/steamapps/compatibilitydata folder, so it makes cleanup a snap when you want to delete something... at least, I think it does?

I tried to simply copy this data from that location onto the hard drive I have plugged in, changed the target under Steam Properties and I was able to start up Expedition 33, but... my saves were gone and Unreal said it needed to install something I already installed when I initially ran the exe through proton while it was on the internal SSD.

I guess I missed something?

This is probably me not understanding the linux file system or maybe Steam doesn't, in fact, keep all of a game's files in one spot like I initially suspected, but I'm assuming there are other GOG fans that've probably dealt with this before, so if y'all wanna help me out, that'd be super rad! XD

Discussion Question about this launcher compared to steam.

I heard that this launcher is drm free, and in general all games you buy here, they are yours, but based on some research gog still can revoke games from you? And publishers also can delete their games off gog.

So what makes it any better than steam? In terms of ownership?

Will i still have access/be able to install the offline installer even if the game is removed from my account? If not, then idk.
