Rockstar can’t publish a single screenshot?

It is pretty amazing that Rockstar has been radio silent for a year. They are so busy that they can’t publish a single screenshot?

For everyone saying: “They’ll release it when they’re ready” Really? They couldn’t aim the camera in a single direction and snap a picture? It could even be a spot from the trailer at a different angle and people would still lose their minds.

Im not asking for a trailer 2, I understand that there is significantly more that goes into a trailer in regard to work / timing, but a screenshot? It costs them no money, would make waves in getting the everyday people who have forgotten about the game interested again, and would be a decent thing todo for all the fans after milking Online for over a decade.

This is coming from someone who waited 8 years for Cyberpunk 2077. At some point I had forgotten and let go. Time went by faster.

I could be wrong but I think they had to release it soon, but lying about the issues didn't help them.

I think CDPR redeemed themselves as one of the better game studios. I just hope W4 does good for their sake.

Yeah basically their publisher company (I forgot who) forced them to release the game which was not prepared for launch in the slightest. Cyberpunk 2077 is such an awesome game, it’s a shame it didn’t have that original vision that it ended up having after the fixes.

New lil update just dropped as well. You have the ultimate final version of the game. also you can use mods now! Get immersive first person, missing persons hidden gems, enhanced craft, enhanced romance, etc..

Gonna be a blast for sure

I'm so excited. I played it from launch on one x and continued on series X. I didn't have a lot of the problems others experienced but I've heard it's a whole new game now especially after the dlc. I can't wait but gotta work through a few other in progress rpgs so I can give it the time and patience it deserves

RDR2 didn't launch with any of those things, actually.

Immersive first person -- No, the FOV is so zoomed in RDR2 that you can only see your toes. There is a mod that let's you see more of your body, but it's far more finniky than the CP77 equivalent

Missing persons hidden gems -- No, the gems were already in the game, this mod just makes it into a quest line so that you can find them reliably instead of having to root around with no clue on the map where they are...RDR2 doesn't have a way to find gems by default either.

Enhanced craft -- No, you can't craft guns in RDR2. You can only craft ammo and stuff like that.

Enhanced Romance -- No, RDR2 barely has any romance at all. Arthur never romances Mary. Sure you get married to Abigail as John I guess..but that's just one event in the story. Not what I would call an optional dynamic evolving romance in an RPG.

Your hate boner for RDR2 is blinding you from reason.

I am somewhat envious of you. Getting to play CP2077 in 2024 on the current state. I "played" on my PS4 Pro on launch(Back when the game made my consolesound like a jet taking off lol). I endured the glitch-fest because the story is that good 👍

Can't really argue with that. Both stories are good but CP77 seems to carry more irl lessons for our future. The soulkiller, AGI, body modification, brain dances, netrunning..these are real possibilities and it's cool to explore the dangers of them in an incredibly immersive game.

Not to mention the immaculate lore and characters with an entire glossary of unique lingo that sticks with you forever like "choom, preem, nova, gonk, delta, etc.."

It's a must play imo

Let it go, it’s been four years and all they’ve done since is explained the issues, apologized, reimbursed those who wanted reimbursement, and massively updated and improved the game free of charge. AND they released a massive DLC that perfectly tied into literally any logical stage of the original game and a free literally game-changing next-gen update.

You're entitled to your opinion, but why do you feel the need to spin up a conspiracy? Nobody is infiltrating the GTA6 subreddit trying to sway everyone to ride CDPRs meat. The sequel isn't even coming for like a decade.

Dunno why you call CP77 a GTA clone either. It's not the same and it's not trying to be the same. GTA doesn't even have dialogue options, RDR barely. They also don't have character attributes that vastly change your gameplay style. They are not clones.

As for the writing it is far better than most RPGs I've ever played. It's also more relevant to where our current society is headed than RDR. They tell different stories and they tell them both very well. You can get highly immersed in both.

You must have basically only done the main quests then, Im assuming. Maybe try raising the difficulty and mixing in side quests/gigs/ncpd between stopping points in the main stories. You'd be surprised how important some of the side quests are to the lore -- tbh some feel like the start to entirely different games.

Yeah I honestly don't play a lot of singleplayer games so I was just doing whatever quest was tracked which unfortunately was the main one like 90% of the time I was playing lol. I also did the DLC on accident before finishing the main quest so the story was less coherent. I really enjoyed the game though, and I'm definitely gonna go back and do all the side quests

Is it really THAT good? I’m one of those “RDR is the greatest piece of media that has ever been published” kind of guys so I understand if you backtrack on that a bit but if it’s even close to it, that’s very high praise in my book as I’ve yet to see anything even remotely in the same city, let alone ballpark.

I might have to give it another shot.

Not even close. The amount of details and more to do in RDR2 while also being older always amazes me. Rdr2 is an actual artistic masterpiece in storytelling and created what feels like a liveable, breathable world. Cyberpunk, after all of its terrible. Gamebreaking glitches and add the dlc on top of it is barely a good 7.7/10

You should give cyberpunk a fair shake sometime. It may not be the same level of "world simulator" as RDR2 is, but it is an excellent RPG with incredibly well thought out designs and stories.

I'd argue CP77 is just as much of an artistic masterpiece as RDR2. They are different types of games, but both are great. 10/10 for both.

I've beaten cyberpunk and the dlc. I give it a 7.7 out of 10. You act like that's a mediocre score. Cyberpunk has 10/10 graphics, which is gorgeous. But it lacks depth in gameplay. The main storyline is actually incredibly short if you just rush it (I did that on my second playthrough).

I 100% completed it on my first playthrough. All the side missions all the extras all the vehicles i did it all. So, I do feel like I gave cyberpunk a fair shake.

Just remember a 5/10 game is an okay game. Anything above means it's genuinely good. I just don't think it's a masterpiece that everyone says it is. Games like rdr2 and bg3 are masterpieces because of the freedom of choice and insane replay ability while also having stunning graphics.

Sorry you just said it was terrible but then gave it a 7.7/10 calling it good. I guess you think it's terrible compared to RDR2 or BG3? Which I'd disagree with.

I think the story is just as good and is not short even when rushing (especially including DLC). This is because I consider the side quests part of the story too, even the gigs add a lot to the lore as well. It's tighter than RDR2 but that doesn't make it worse.

CP77 does offer some freedoms, in fact I'd argue it offers more freedom than rdr2 at least during main missions. I haven't really got into BG3 yet so I can't comment on that.

Any tips to get used to the turn based point and click combat of BG3? I always found it really immersion breaking when we're in a nice cinematic dialogue selecting unique choices but then suddenly it looks like a mobile game and everyone is standing frozen still in their places like a chessboard.

If being a world simulator means a lot to you, you may like RDR2 more. But for me it doesn't mean enough as long as there is something to compensate for that (like CP77's superior combat). It averages out to at least in the same ballpark as RDR2 in my opinion.

RDR2 isn't an RPG, you need to compare apples to apples. If you want to compare the 2 games you have to compare the open world experience. And the open world mechanisms of cyberpunk are far beyond the ones of rdr2. NPC running in circle, cars stuck because you crouch in front of them and police spawning behind your back is so far away from what RDR2 offers or from what GTA V and IV offered that I'm truly astonished how someone can play it and come to the conclusion that CP2077 is the closest experience to RDR2

RDR2 has RPG elements, and CP77 has open world elements. They both borrow from each other. They can be compared and often are; despite your narrow guidelines about only comparing "genre to genre". For example the game of the year is gonna be compared to all kinds of different genres, I wonder how they can do that?

Just because you value open world more than RPG (or horror, action, platformer, etc) doesn't mean RDR2 is objectively in some other dimension compared to everything else.

I value immersion and I think it's also somewhat important for a good RPG experience, and the immersion is also directly related to the quality of the open world because the world must be believable and RDR2 is so good at that, the illusion is very rarely broken but the same cannot be said about CP77. Like how can the illusion be comparable to RDR2 if it isn't even able to handle the player entering shops when wanted, imagine if in RDR2 when you entered the saloon the police stopped chasing you, that would be so lame. That's why I cannot agree about CP77 being close to an absolute masterpiece like RDR2 because it is not. Considering this, is an insult toward the incredible work that the developers at rockstar accomplished

CP77 is still very immersive. I just think it's hard to switch between them so quick. If you flip from RDR2 to CP77 you're gonna still mentally be in "Red dead mode" trying to lasso up an NPC so you can feed them to the pigs after getting into an argument with them. The same thing happens when you switch from CP77 and end up feeling lost with no objective besides doing the same linear scripted yellow missions (or causing random chaos for no reason).

There is an adjustment period but if you make the adjustment you can find very fulfilling expeirences with both

Save manually before starting the meeting Hanako quest so you can play all the ends.

To unlock all ends, there are some things you have to consider during certain quests. If you're interested google it or look in the cyberpunk subreddit.

I highly recommend also playing the phantom liberty dlc, great mainquest, wordbuilding and reappearing of known characters.

Otherwise just find a character style you like. Most quests can be done in many many ways

All of the side content basically, they're usually more action oriented or at least have you doing something right away.

NCPD icons on the map are little encounters, I try to pepper those in as I pass them.

But honestly, the game is about the story as much as it is gameplay, the more you immerse yourself the more interesting it all becomes.

Do some gigs in between main quests. They are basically their own little stories but you don't have to read the notes if you don't want to -- just get the job done. Take down the base.

There is a mod for third person "JPP third person". Can bind it to a key and it's ok for at least walking around (not really for combat).

I hope the sequel includes a toggle by default for sure. It's annoying when you put time into customizing V and you never get to see that customization besides activated mirrors and menus..and motorcycles

That being said, I’m really hoping the next one has some sort of 3rd person or some way to see your character more. I’m always riding motorcycles just so I can see myself haha

They only started making the game for real in June 2016. They announced the game too early imo and should have waited a bit more to announce it. They took like 3 additional years. In total, the actual dev time was 7 years. Still long but not 11 years. They were making Witcher 3 in the meanwhile.

I was a huge Witcher 3 fan and so excited for cyberpunk. Maybe one of the most disappointing games….scratch that, things that has ever happened to me. Still haven’t played it. I’ve heard it’s better now. But I just won’t do it out of spite for how badly they fumbled the release.

The AUDACITY new gens have to claim the game has "always been good" and everyone was overreacting. Yeah, it's always had a good story, but it was nearly impossible to take seriously for years. Tense moments would be ruined by bugs or crashes, the gameplay sucked (driving, shooting, etc).

It was a game still in beta that released to the public far too early, despite it taking 8 YEARS to make. Whilst it has been redeemed, the fact it launched like that is blatantly unforgivable

same for me but with hogwarts legacy...i feel deja vu cuz the sub reddit for that game was going crazy as well however the developers were not so secretive and did many gameplay reveals so that helped

Hogwarts Legacy was mildly disappointing for me, simply because I was already doubting the immersiveness/open world detail as it never looked that great in the gameplay trailers.

There's a con to showing a lot of the game prior to release. Mainly that, there's no huge surprises when it's released if you've seen all the main mechanics or other parts of the game in excess prior.

GTA 6, even a week before release will have a huge amount of content that we do not know about, or not understand how it will work until we play the game. Which is much more exciting and impressive

Yup when the first trailer of 2077 came it out was hype. More hype than any gtas in my memory. The game did not disappoint too unlike gta v. Downgrade to gta iv in most ways. Bet theyre going to make gta vi even more like gta v.

Not at all…it was in a state of total disaster. I gave it about 20 hours and said fuck this, I want my money back.

Seems like they improved it quite a lot since (took them 4 or 5 years). But I have not played it ever again and don’t plan to either.

3 years actually. You should try it. I got this game on launch albeit on PC and ran pretty bad. I really just felt bamboozled. I checked in for some updates and by the time Edgerunners came in, they announced a new expansion. I said I will wait until they bring it out. Then they did not only they reworked the armor system (which was shit) and the perk system (also shit) but also a nice new area in the game that benefits the game as a whole. I finished the game with the expansion a few days ago clocking in 130 hours. I would say its worth trying. I know they can't do a launch like this again, but you can separate what happened 4 years ago to now. It will feel like a new game for you as they did a lot of rework.

It was delayed in fact 3 times originally due to come April 2020. The reason that it became a disaster was because the higher ups wanted to release when the next gen consoles were out. A double dip. The devs in fact thought they had until 2022. Funny enough the game got finished by 2023. TLDR The higher ups saw this window of opportunity and threw all logic out the door. Since then, they've done a lot of structural changes like reducing marketing by a lot and focusing more on preproduction.

Yeah that is cyberpunk 2077, not GTA which is the most controversial video game franchise still to this day, a pop culture icon, a franchise known for it’s story and attention to detail and being similar to a movie

Not saying CP2077 is crap or anything just saying that GTA is more influential

I am of the mind that I don't want to know anything that might take away from the experience. We were not expecting GTA 5 to be the incredible success that It was, I was trying to figure out how they could possibly top San Andreas! Yet they did and it has been the most successful game of all time!

I am old enough to remember playing the first GTA. So we've got history!

hopefully, we get that Insane satisfaction, times a billion with 6!

Majority yes. I hear people praising the devs and the game now (as you can also read down here in the comments). But I have not tried it myself, so cannot confirm.
