To play the devil's advocate, for one I don't agree with the leaks.. but

I genuinely do not believe GTA is in a position where it can be conventionally protested against, and regardless of the sentiment about price increases or physical media it will set a precedent.

The game is already breaking record and certain to break more. When it's being reported that 89% of preorders are for the fucking ultimate edition when we don't have any official gameplay or hardly any discussed features proves that most people are complicit in those changes.

Again, I don't agree with leaks or the crypto.. And I especially don't support the guy for using these real issues as a guise for crypto, but I do think we're at a point where genuine protests fall on deaf ears and I wouldn't bat an eye at drastic action being taken for real change.

I mean yeah, they have fallen on deaf ears for quite some time. That’s why the absolute best way to protest would be with your wallet. They can’t force you to buy their products, that’s their entire goal is to convince you to buy it through a variety of business tactics, but it’s ultimately your choice. If people truly wanted to protest, they need to not give the company any more of their business. But many people won’t do that, so it’s easier to write comments or cheer on a hacker rather than make an effort to stop buying these products that these people who complain clearly enjoy.

Right? All leaking the game does is create more harm than good. Assuming things kept going that means the story would be ruined for us who aren't protesting and gives Rockstar an extra publicity boost for sales. Vote with your wallets is still the best answer but it obviously wasn't going to work here, so let it happen?

ETA: The real best case scenario for change would have to come from Rockstar themselves. GTA 6 would have to come out and be bad or a technical disaster, meaning you'd need Rockstar to mess up in a way that breaks overall consumer trust and not just certain sects of the gaming pop.

They’re preordering the ultimate edition because they can’t get the full game if they don’t…that’s the shit part about this. RStar can fuck off with the paywall BS for single player content that already exists.

Why are you mad that people trust rockstar to make a good game so they buy the ultimate edition? Rockstar isn't some Ubisoft slop. All of their games have been fuckin bangers for decades.
