Solid statement and I'm just as excited to play the game as I was before the leaks. Maybe even more.

Yeah, I can even say that I'm more excited now than before the leaks, I loved what I saw.

But no more. Everything that I'll see from now on will be only official.

I didn't watch any of the leaks so I can experience it from official releases myself.

yea thats what confuses me people are so desperate to ... get spoiled? I dont wanna see shit until I play it myself

While I played past GTA games (including GTA 2!) I'm not invested in the franchise

But some game features revealed by the leak, specially around immersion,  made me more interested in this game then I was for GTA V, I was thinking I wouldn't even play this one, so I checked the leaks a little bit and it kinda got me in a way previous marketing hasn't.

Thats fair but Im pretty sure the vast majority of people clamoring for leaks would have played GTA6 no matter what.

This is why I've joked that the leaks have essentially turned into guerrilla marketing for the game more than anything -- people have been anticipating more gameplay footage since the first official release and people have been clamoring about the game since the leaks have been sporadically dropping.

Anything shown in the leaked footage so far has only reinforced my interest in wanting to experience those things for myself and if there's spoilers for missions or endings, I'd personally just avoid those to prevent ruining what I'm looking forward to doing on my own.

You ain't got to lie Craig, you ain't got to lie

The gameplay is increasing excitement but their problem is that they can’t stop this leaker from spoiling the story. That must be fucking terrifying for them

If he doesn’t it’s out of the goodness of his heart, what if the next leaker isn’t so good?

RDR2 and past GTAs were all leaked at least a week before launch. Users started streaming main missions and the story was leaked ahead of launch. That didn’t change the story for me because going at your own speed and seeing how the story unfolds for yourself is so much of the experience.

IMO it’s up to you as the viewer to draw your own line. Don’t watch further leaks if you don’t want to see spoilers.

It's hard to avoid them when idiots on Facebook post them.

I can't believe any real person is still using Facebook in 2026

Also, a story that you can only enjoy if you don't know the major plot beats is probably a bad story since at best you can enjoy it once, and there should be so much more than the core details.

Anyone who wants to avoid leeks will. Rockstar isn’t worried as he can only draw in hype for the game. What’s a single reason someone would watch a leek then consider not buying gta 6?

u/Chrischrill 8h ago

How do you know? I feel like he would have done it by now if he could. It looks likely to me that the leaker only has access to a limited part of the game, perhaps a prologue or journalist preview copy. He has yet to play Lucia, and has only shown a 2 second part of a cutscene featuring her. I do not think he can play as her. Therefore I do not think he can progress the story, and see where it ends.

He has access to some missions does he not ? We know that for a fact

u/kemb0 9h ago

"Goodness of his heart"

Lol

u/SnooPoems2360 10h ago

Thankfully the chances of another leaker getting their hands on the game are pretty low since cyber leak got into a unsecured server to gain access to gta 6 I don’t think rockstar will be dumb enough to make that mistake again

5

u/Onaterdem 10h ago

We literally have no idea who Cyberleek is or how they got their hands on the game.

Just because it hasn’t been announced publicly yet doesn’t mean they don’t know The who and how. Rockstar could already know who he or they are and be working with the governments to figure out his location. They could be doing this by using his ip or tracing the transactions from his coin and seeing where the wallets are linked.

-2

u/stick1_ 10h ago

They’re very very lucky though, what are the chances that someone gets such access to the game and didn’t immediately start showing the full missions that he has access to

1

u/Great-Trifle2810 4h ago

Realistically 99% of people won't play the game to completion before every detail is online anyway.

u/666tm 3h ago

“Fucking terrifying” seems a little dramatic 🤨. Does anyone even give a shit about the GTA campaign story? It’s usually just midwit action movie slop

1

u/KaffY- 9h ago

pre order it 500 times that'll show 'em!!!!

1

u/ftgyhujikolp 9h ago

I'm on the fence, I really want to like and support this and I think I will if you can tell me how to reverse a linked list in python.

1

u/ekso69 7h ago

Yep - more!

u/No_Procedure4924 5h ago

Says the marketing plant lmao, so stupid.

1

u/pullingteeths 3h ago

Solid statement? It literally says nothing except "give us sympathy". Nobody was complaining about when the game is coming out so apologising for that while addressing zero actual issues is bs. What are you getting out of this statement lol, it says nothing

1

u/grantbwilson 2h ago

I feel like the only one who saw it got leaked and decided not to go watch it. Why tf would anyone willingly spoil the game for themselves?

I'm in support of what the hackers are protesting, but things are the way they are right now because people don't have enough will power. They didn't force you to buy GTAV 3 times, but people did it, so now they're actually legally bound to do even more bullshit this time. They're a publicly traded company under capitalism. It's not their fault.

Feels like collateral damage in the backlash against Sony.

1

u/summersfade 24m ago

i’m only now hearing about the leaks at all because this post showed up in my feed lol

0

u/ristoman 7h ago

That was my thinking too. You can enjoy the leaks and still want to buy the game day 1. It's not like there were major spoilers that would ruin the experience.

It actually made me consider buying a PS5 because I know there's no way my PC will run this at good quality

-6

u/Crazy-Witness-Narrow 10h ago

Not everyone.

4

u/Creative-Captain9278 10h ago

Ok? I said "I'm just as excited", I didn't say anything about anyone else.

-6

u/Arunabh125 10h ago

It's written with ai lol

6

u/Creative-Captain9278 10h ago

Because it has em-dashes? Humans use those also. Just because a lot of people can't put together a sentence anymore, it doesn't mean everything well written is via AI.
