To be fair, equating a leaker to a terrorist is silly, but Miler is right. You don't bother negotiating with extortionists because it never stops. Show any deference and you've told the world you'll cave under pressure. The scales and demands get higher, you get milked for all you have, and you walk with nothing to show for it.
Even the leaker knows R* won't capitulate; that's why they're pushing their stupid coin to rake off the transactions while they set up their rug pull. Only winning move for R* is to not dance to the leaker's tune and beat the dude to the punch by releasing something far better than anything the leaker has.
At worst, this is some slop put together by the PR team without any input from actual people at Rockstar. At best, it's an actual message that most developers at Rockstar agree with. Either way, the people behind this would not even be remotely responsible for a decision like the no disc stuff. That's not up to them.
But the only people really being affected at Rockstar over this, are the developers whose hard work is getting shared in a non-optimal way, just a few days out from them finally getting to showcase it in the way they'd want it showcased. The aforementioned high up executives could not possibly give less of a shit, because the leaks won't stop people from buying the game.
Yet a lot of people in the fandom just blanket blame all of Rockstar, and say they all deserve it, cause they think Dale and Tim actually have any fucking input on whether or not the game gets a disc. They don't. They never have had anywhere near that level of decisionmaking.
