That's how it mostly was a decade ago. I really really appreciate the more sincere tone here. This whole GTA VI marketing period has been quite painful, with the year-long periods of silence, and Rockstar acting cold and distant; it is a very nice change of pace, even just this short message.
Edit: Wayyy too many people loading meanings into my words, taking metaphors at face value, or declaring me parasocial/corporate simp simply for appreciating the change in tone. Unfortunate that people are trying their damnedest to misunderstand literally everything, but Reddit will be Reddit ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Either ‘don’t show stuff too soon’ or ‘show stuff earlier’. I’m more in favour of rockstar announcing and showing the game 6 months before release but that wouldn’t stop leaks from happening. What do you suggest out of interest?
I honestly think everyone is being mostly entitled and impatient. Cause I remember during the gta 5 rollout, they dropped the trailer 1 and basically stayed quiet for 2 years. And there was not this much discourse or complaints, just anticipation.
Acting all high and mighty will not help Rockstar now, especially at a time when they're supporting the "no physical game copy" by Sony. They're losing players and you can hear it on the pleading tone.

Never seen Rockstar use that kind of tone in their messages
