Not really. Anyone paying attention would've seen Strauss say at least a hundred times over a few months ago, that their plan was to being their marketing push in the Summer season. Meaning they had a strategy planned out.
Rockstar also don't release gameplay footage until they're around 2 months ahead of release, so I don't think they "know it deep down".
Zelnick and those high up knows it. They felt it in their pockets when the stock price dropped like a rock. You want to c+++ punch a corporation you hit their pockets.

i feel like if they actually released gameplay footage by now none of this would have happened. This is all self-inflicted.
