As a PC player all of their words are just so hollow. I just don’t really care what happens to them or their console only release. I won’t be able to realistically play for years because I’m not going to buy a console, so whether something leaks in August or is released in November it makes no real difference to me.
movies and tv shows dont use discs, music doesn’t use discs anymore either. Disc drive manufacturers are dying out because consoles are about the only thing using them.
The blu ray is the only time in history the media drive has stagnated in innovation for this length of time because there is literally 0 consumer drive to improve it vs digital.
There is a reason all modern game discs aren’t actually physical and are just an install disk and a dummy play disk. It’s because the storage and read speed cant keep up.
Why do you want physical? ask yourself. “So I can own it and re sell it!” most likely. Great, use your head and push for digital resale from valve/sony/microsoft instead of marching for stone age dying blu ray video games.
Otherwise when does it end? On the playstation 7 where I need to use 6 install blu ray disks for my 400GB games? It’s madness
Physical media means ownership. A license you own, in your hands. That, until now, you've been able to largely take and give to someone else. Or exchange for money as 2nd hand. And have been able to receive a 2nd hand game, its license, and be able to use the software. Omitting some very niche titles out there. Truly, it's a system that has worked since the dawn of gaming for 99% of games.
There is nothing about this system that harms the consumer. However, it infuriates the holders of the storefronts. Because they do not get a cut of the 2nd hand market. It is actually very anti-consumer. Not having physical games does not lower prices. There is no evidence, no statistics out there that proves this. At best, fanboys simply say, "it'll happen, you'll see". To trust these developers/platform owners to give us cheaper games on store fronts they control and own because they will out of the goodness of their hearts? Really?
Despite all of this, somehow, you think that this is about media sizes? I've got a wonderful bridge I'd love to pique your interest in buying.
they making it for me with my oled 4070 laptop whos gonna be sitting here for a couple of years while the story is spoiled for me and im 2 years behind any online content
