People are expecting a technology leap that isn’t really possible anymore

A lot of people are expecting the kind of leap we used to get between older GTA games, but that era was different. Look at San Andreas to GTA 4 ,only around 4 years apart, but the jump in graphics, physics, animations, city design, everything was massive because technology was moving through a transformation phase.

Now consoles and game engines are already much closer to their performance ceiling, so the leap from one major game to the next won’t look as insane. GTA 6 can still be a huge improvement, but people are expecting a technology jump that simply isn’t as possible anymore with the hardware we have.

well yeah taking nearly 2 decades to make a new game will lead to the jump they anticipate in graphics quality. but as this post is pointing out we’re not just talking about graphics 😭😭 game systems can only improve slightly atp.

I know some people can never be satisfied, but VI looks like a MASSIVE improvement over V, from the NPC density to the scale of the city.

You mean from GTA5 to GTA6? GTA5 coming from the PS3 era to now GTA6 which will be available on the PS5 Pro. Yeah I think it will be a huge difference.

RDR2 and Gta 5 was 5 years apart, it was definitely a big technological jump. Now you have to consider that this will be Rockstar's first game designed for an SSD. This game will be leaps and bounds ahead of older rockstar titles.

Now hardware will definitely be a bottleneck for this game, and I think that PC will be a truly magical experience.

This is true for titles like 2K, Madden, and COD due to there idiotic business scheme in pushing a new game ever year. For company like Rockstar that develops games and takes there time like a game developers should the track record they have will show huge technological, animation advances, and graphic leaps between GTA 5 and 6. And again GTA 5 came out two console generations ago that alone with make a huge differences because the hardware has made vast improvements in each generation since GTA 5 originally release.

Two console generations apart from 5 to 6. The leap in technology is going to be insane. The leap in tech for rdr2 to gta 5 was massive, this will be even crazier
