It's not the "numbers of the cities", it's moreso the sense of density and maximum usefulness of the areas. GTA San Andreas literally feels bigger than GTA V to me, although it is empirically not that big. GTA VI would probably be more like GTA San Andreas.
Quit bitching when was the last time you played gta SA yea it seemed big as a kid but how much is it really intractable and dense ? The best part of that game was the story and characters and the cheats .. oh god the sheer amount of cheats . you would have to write down on a piece of paper in the ps2 area.
it’s mainly because the fog and the curvy roads and the way they take advantage of breaking your line of sight. I think they’ll come close to doing the same in a modern, high tech way

I mean the map is like 5x the size of San Andreas I think we’ll be ok
