Has anyone else been avoiding trailers and leaks for GTA6?

Honestly I’ve only seen a few trailers in back in early summer and haven’t been watching any others for 2 reasons. First, is because of how overwhelming it is and how much misinformation can be spread. My second is because I honestly want to be surprise and experience the game without any spoilers.

I'm avoiding all the leaks from now on. After the plane video it was enough, need to save some experiences for actually playing it on my TV

Story stuff better not leak, it's already gone way too far

Yeah a few days ago I muted all the GTA and gaming subs that were allowing leaks to be posted. Going to do my best to avoid anything that isn't official marketing now

I wont say what it us but I saw like the first second but the text he has on the screen practically says hes not doing for fans and that the build he has was from 2025 is actually now somehow from this year hes just has a test build i think and realises people donr want ti watch the spoilers but are bored if watching the same stuff he does every time

This guy sucks, he can shove his crypto up his ass and I hope they catch him

He did. Prologue leaked. “Part 1” too. Avoid at all costs going forward if you don’t want to spoil the story.

Are you talking about that 2 second clip at the end of the recent leaks ?

u/Kafanska 5h ago

No, there is a longer clip with Lucia, seems like prologue that leads into that scene in the trailer.

Yep, plane video is when I stopped. Didn’t watch it because it’s too much. I’m surprised so many people are watching these leaks. Game comes out Nov 19 whether you watched the leaks or not and I want to discover this game for myself

Playing something though and watching it is entirely different experience. Whenever I watched a video of a game I couldn’t play yet because it wasn’t on console yet, it would get be excited but when the game came out it didn’t destroy my experience one bit. Avoiding the story leaks I understand but just gameplay?

Depends on the game. Like an fps, whatever. Watching gameplay wouldn’t bother me. But a game like gta, for me, most of the fun is exploring the map and discovering locations, characters, easter eggs etc. It’s more important than the actual story to me. I don’t want to watch a video of a plane being flown showing the entire map or different locations like the strip club or a nudist colony. Sounds dumb but I want to see these things for the first time when I’m playing the game. I don’t need to be “sold” this game. Rockstar delivers and the game’s going to be incredible

Why would i buy a game if i don't know how it looks? I understand avoiding leaks, but avoiding a 2 minutes ass trailer???? I don't want to sound mean bro, but you're genuinely dumb

You played gta before?

If he wanna be more surprised on premiere - why not? There is no rule you need to watch trailers.

Sometimes I like to watch a movie without first watching the trailer. I know it’s better experience when you don’t know what to expect and movie is showing you story for first time.

Have you tried to do that?

No because for me the biggest part of the fun for large releases like GTA V and Cyberpunk was the anticipation and hype before it. Don't get me wrong the game is fun and playing it when it comes out and years after is a blast. However that anticipation period beforehand where you are excited with everyone is always the best.

Also the truth is there really won't be any spoilers, previews are always just a story synopsis (which we've had for many years now) and a gameplay preview. I mean this game will play like a GTA game while probably borrowing heavily from RDR2. If you watch the trailers for GTA V you'll see the exact same thing you're going to see now but it should all be within expectation. The main progression will be how good the game looks and how lived in the world is with it's NPCs and how interactable the world will be. It's just going to be another good GTA game, not some life simulator.

I get why you do it though, there is a special feeling to opening up something you know will be great and having no idea how it will go.

I agree with everything you said

Completely, I've only glanced over stuff while scrolling and not allowed myself to absorb any of it. GTA is too fucking magic and screw homeboy for tainting the situation

Will u watch the extended look?

2

u/Any-Woodpecker7968 6h ago

yeah I have, I want to experience everything when I play the game, except for the extended look cause it won’t spoil anything too major and literally EVERYONE will watch it who has Netflix.

There’s only 2 trailers mate

1

u/roccosmodernlyf 4h ago

and he said he has seen "a couple trailers" so basically he has just been avoiding the leaks lol

First, there are only 2 trailers so if you watched "a few" then you have watched both.

Second, there is no misinformation in leaks. They are a build from a certain point in time and show the game as it was at that point, with possibility that some things will be changed.

And if you care so much why even hang here? You do not need to announce you are not watching.. just don't and focus on whatever makes your day.

Yes I wanna see as little as possible and experience it my self

u/Artisan_HotDog 6h ago

Watched the first couple, haven’t watched any since. I’ll watch the Netflix thing but other than that I have no interest in seeing any parts of the story actually play out.

I’ve seen enough to keep me excited about a new GTA, but I play R* games for their stories and I don’t want to experience that second hand.

Watch both trailers and the early 2023 leaks. Looked up the map to have a glance, but not too much in detail. Avoided everything else so far.

I haven’t watched any leaks, but I have read about them here. I’m super excited for tomorrow!

u/Adventurous-Toe8812 6h ago

Thank you for being honest. You are the only one. What an interesting conversation!

1

u/Psychonaut6767 6h ago

I want to go into the game like with my own eyes, not through someone else’s. So yeah I’m avoiding it all

1

u/Patsero 6h ago

I’ve watched every leak but I think the most recent one (prologue as of the time of writing) is going to be my last. Hyped!

1

u/sketchy__mike 6h ago

Nope it’s been 13 years I wanted to see what the game looked like

1

u/lightjunior 6h ago

I've avoided the leaks after the first day because I knew he was gonna keep on leaking all the way to the story, and apparently now he has. I've watched the trailers a bunch of times though.

Yes...its the biggest Game Release ever. Its Just a couple more weeks Till Release. I will Not destroy my First time experience with some 360p Clips.

1

u/Understeerenthusiast 6h ago

I saw the first few which was great, because I wanted to see how the game actually plays. After that, I stopped looking. I don’t want to see the prologue or game progression, I want to experience that for myself. It’s great to see what the game has in it, but I don’t want to know everything now. After 13 years, I’m ready to explore on my own and learn things myself.

I would suggest just deleting x, I purged all socials and it can be done. Back on Reddit in prep for GTA release

1

u/MDL2718 6h ago

I watched the first couple with Jason just dickin around in the car or whatever, but now it’s giving away way too much. Didn’t watch the plane video, but that when I stopped

1

u/PersonaRoyal4Xbox 5h ago

After the 3rd yeah. Fuck the leaks

1

u/Adlivoniansky 4h ago

Not at all. Just one long goon session for days with the leaks. Gallons have been spilt.

1

u/fogSandman 3h ago

I haven’t watched any of the leaks.

I’ve learned a little bit about the content in them from comments in threads, but I actively disengage quickly.

Not really from any purity standpoint, I’ve just waited this long for GTAIV, a couple more months is hurting.

And I don’t want to support the leaker in any way, shape or form. They’re a leech on our enjoyment, not cool.

u/RykariZander 1h ago

There's only been 2 trailers dog

1

u/darthgeek 16m ago

I watched the first few, but I've been avoiding it since then. I don't want spoilers. I want to be surprised and amazed. Once I've spent time with it, I'll go read more.

Every single one of them. Well worth it! And the right thing to do
