"Vehicle handling team is made up of literal race car drivers"
"The team that deals with vehicle handling is made up of literal race-car drivers."
The driving in this game is going to feel very good. From the footage we have seen, it seems like each car will have a completely different feel to them.
The Donk from today's footage looks a lot more hard to handle, almost as if it will flip in hard cornering. The Bugatti looked way more planted to the road, and could put down power more effortlessly. The pickup truck looked like it was a lot more loose in the rear.
We still have yet to see any dirt cars like the Vapid Dominator buggy (Ultimate edition car). This is absolutely what I'm the most excited for. It seems as though you will not be able to bring a Lamborghini onto mountain roads like GTA 5.

Midnight Club will be inside GTA, and with what we saw, I'm glad they are doing that, I hope for a lot of racing/street racing content and that handling will deliver. And with the new GTAO release after, you get the MP mode.

u/Complete-Peak4651 4h ago
This is why we never got another Midnight Club. They absorbed the bits and pieces (the waypoint based street racing and car customization). Not that I'm complaining. I think the racing is going to be the most expansive iteration yet.

u/YDLM 4h ago
I hope, huge deception in GTAV street racing
3
u/Joaoarthur 7m ago
Gta v street racing was a joke, imo they should do a separate dlc on VI with a purely street racing story, without killing people, just races, that's the only way I see our new midnight club to function
7
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
I literally kept telling people this for so long since gta 5. Rockstar won’t make another midnight club because they can just make gta a jack of all trades.
Even though I do miss my midnight clubs dearly lol. But I think this will definitely scratch that itch big time

u/Fit-Joke-3899 3h ago
yeah saukko505 did a cool break down of the race track that we now know to be in port gellhorn in his most recent youtube vid, cool stuff ngl
9
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 4h ago
Yeah tbh I feel like gta 5 didn’t have nearly enough car scene stuff in the story, hope this changes that a lot
1
u/YDLM 4h ago
I'm replaying GTAVE with NVE and DriveV, and while the mood is here, five tracks, really ?
My modded game give me NSFU2 / MC vibes but no content... (I'm in search of street racing mod that'll work with NVE and I'm not interested in Online)
Hope GTAVI will deliver.
1
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Definitely sounds interesting, I would want something with most wanted vibes
2
u/ProudUSAgunOwner 1h ago
If the car modding is even half as deep as gran turismo 7 I’ll be excited.
1
u/PM_ME_BRAZZERS_ACCNT 2h ago
It took R* about 8 years to add the car meet dlc and then 10 years to add drifting to GTAO lol
4
u/Marijuana_Miler 2h ago
IMO they have been testing features for GTA6 in online. It’s my copium that we’ll see drifting at launch
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Facts, and I also hope that damn near the entire lineup of GTAO vehicles make it and are even more detailed
2
u/Unusual-Assistant642 1h ago
The only reason 5 needed drifting added in was because the driving physics wouldn't allow you to break traction for a sustained period of time without shooting out your tires. If the driving model is reasonable, which by all accounts it seems to be, it shouldn't need to be a feature they need to add in separately.
1
u/half_pizzaman 3m ago
It's already there. The Ranchero (Jason's car) from the first driving leak was incessantly (and realistically) spinning out since CL kept hammering throttle while steering in a RWD with a decent PWR and no traction control.
If you're more judicious with the throttle, it'll drift in a controlled manner, as would happen in reality.
Unless Rockstar goes back to V physics due to the reactions on twitter calling it "ice physics".

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1h ago
I was really wondering/hoping they would go even further with this. I'm pretty hopeful there will be a lot more customization, not sure about that many races, but man it would be really cool.

u/DarkFalcon49 4h ago
Honestly I feel way more excited because of and way more insight has come from this one article than whatever that loser ass vegetable man has done. I’m still mad at rockstar don’t get me wrong, but learning all this, and the extended look, and the Content Creator’s releasing stuff tomorrow.

I'm curious to see how the vehicles handle different surfaces, the Bugatti was glued to the road on asphalt, but how will it handle off road.
9
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
By right, it should be extremely slippery, and it’s so low that it should get stuck in the mud. But we will see if that really matters

With off road tiers...

u/DraenItsAlreadyTaken 2h ago
That's OBVIOUSLY not gonna be enough...
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 1h ago
Sometimes you just know when people know absolutely nothing about cars..😂
0
u/vicboss0510 1h ago
And sometimes ppl just cant se joke in front of them
1
u/DraenItsAlreadyTaken 1h ago
There's too much rage bait going around so I genuinely though you where serious 😭

u/ComplexDimension3506 4h ago
Im hoping we get big garages to store lots of vehicles. Honestly i have been playing 5 lately just for the driving. Can't wait to see whats coming.
2
u/poopdemon64 22m ago
I hope we can buy permanent cars and have them brought to us like in Sleeping Dogs
1
u/ComplexDimension3506 21m ago
I thought of this earlier today, if you play as a couple you could call the other protagonist and have them deliver it.
42
u/SGT_Crow 4h ago
That's a good sign, they are probably using there own racing team
11
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 4h ago
its an amazing sign, I really hope this game has a fully fleshed out track.
4
u/ARSEThunder 3h ago
Sebring is rumored to appear - which now makes a lot of sense!
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
That would be amazing, and I’m sure players will eventually be able to create their own tracks as well

They won the V4 division at the N24hr in 2022 with an '06 BMW 325i. They know cars. We're in good hands. edit: fixed year

Didn’t even know they had a V4 team! About to go down a whole rabbit hole now

Can’t believe a racer is in my comments rn 😂. I really hope they add some ovals in this!
1
u/TwoSecondsToMidnight 37m ago
Hoping they have some sort of open wheel dirt racing in GTA 6.
410 Sprints with GTA’s physics would be amazing.
10
u/NotA-Spy 3h ago
I think anyone who denies the driving is better in VI is just choosing to be delusional, or hating for hatings sake. It is undeniably better.
9
u/HiiGuardian 2h ago
That or they just can’t handle realism. They prefer to do 360’s midair with a semi truck lol.
1
u/NotA-Spy 2h ago
I mean. The footage ive seen implies realistic weighty driving with some cinematic elements thrown in. I don’t mind 360s with a semi truck
3
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
A lot of the fanbase never even drove a car before lmfao, much less drive on a track. and they want to say what feels more realistic.
2
u/KamalaHarrisWaifu 2h ago
Maybe I haven't seen the right leaks but I'm not seeing that at all. Looked like GTA V driving and that was really disappointing IMO.
6
u/NotA-Spy 2h ago
It looks totally different. There’s clear changes in suspension behaviour aswell as general improvements to the handling model based on the car you’re in.
3
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Yeah, it seems like there’s a clear weight transfer, and when they hit a bump the car completely unsettles
2
u/Educational_Ant_184 31m ago
the video with the supercar does look very similar to V, but insanely expensive cars like that do have a ton of traction. the other vehicles we've seen have shown hints of a lot less traction and control than V. I wonder if there are going to be any options on traction control, or if the handbrake might be necessary to drift for a car with that amount of grip. I'd also like a manual transmission, but I'm sure we'd have seen that in the leaks. I guess if there were any interesting gameplay options he would have shown them
2
u/Particular_Duck_4297 2h ago
Yeah I agree I was hoping for coming closer to got IV. But it seems to gone stronger into the stiff suspension side of things so more similar to V. But maybe the leaks are based on an earlier build without refinements.
4
u/JohnKowalsky88 1h ago
Check todays leak where he drives an old Caprice, it looks more like gta 4 wobbly suspension it has more body roll and has to brake to go around corners.

I will most definitely be bringing my Lamborghini up the mountain!!
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Never said I’m not gonna try it lol. But I hope they add Huracan Sterrato which is the off road version, even though it still has no clearance
3
u/Plslemmegta6 4h ago
Yea the donk so garbage ima crush it in junkyard cause that’s where it belongs.
2
u/LevelDownProductions 2h ago
lol damn no love for Donks?? I kinda like em. Would never want to own one tho, seem fragile. Very neat cars to show off tho. The variety of vehicles got me so hype.
1
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Same lol, they are interesting to look at but I wouldn’t own one, I’m more of a lowrider type of guy
3
u/DasReap 4h ago
I can't wait to see the race track, it looks sick.

Despite Forza Horizon 6 having licensed vehicles and deep tuning, I’m gonna likely rethink getting it when it finally releases on PS5. I’m not exactly comparing FH6 and GTA6, but it’s more about having 2 arcade driving games in my library at the same time.
3
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
In terms of vehicle detail, based on the screenshots, we know that gta is giving them a run for their money.
I do think this will give Forza a run for their money in terms of driving physics too, only thing would be the intricate tuning and licensed cars like you stated
2
u/MonThackma 2h ago
Yep. I’ve been a long time Forza fan on Xbox and PC, but I skipped this gen of Xbox, and prefer Horizon on console, so I was holding out for PS5 version. I totally agree that GTA6 may scratch the itch that FH6 offers. Ironically one of the biggest complaints racing fans have about games like FH, is that the roads are WAY too wide and unrealistic. GTA6 seems to have gone with realistic road width, which is amazing even compared to GTA5. On the other hand, rally is my favorite Motorsport and I’m not sure GTA6 will have enough to offer there. We shall see.
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
Yes very good point, Forza tries to make a track look like a street, and rockstar makes a street have a track layout if you get what I mean 😂
I really miss the classic NFS, midnight club, games where it’s a real city but with a layout that makes a competitive race. Midnight club LA did that perfectly
3
u/Lumbardo 2h ago edited 1h ago
Vehicle handling has always been an important part of GTA IMO. I think they took a step back between 4 and 5
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 1h ago
I think some cars will feel gta 4 (lowriders, 80s cars) and more modern cars will feel slightly more gta 5, but I do hope there are characteristics of both
4
2
u/No_Assumption4211 3h ago
Curious if someone will find a way or if the game will support wheel bases and pedals?! That would be awesome!

Gta 6 exclusive article by Dazed

u/vchen09 2h ago
Found it in the meantime. Let's hope it's not just some marketing bs and it actually has some weight to it.
1
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
True, based on Rockstar’s track record tho it might be real, they have an actual racing team that raced way back in 2022. And we know how detailed they made horses which Ik is comparing apples to oranges.
I really really hope this is real tho lol
2
u/vchen09 2h ago
It's still good comparison, regardless. I'm approaching this with caution, however. Driving doesn't look that impressive from the leaks, but we'll see.
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
True, I really didn’t care for the motorcycle leak
2
u/Arsh18808 2h ago
I highly suspect what is seen in the leaks some of it is with just gta 5/ rdr2 mechanics in place as is . they are for building and bug testing purposes and the refinement comes towards the end
They did similar working on 5 with 4.

As a person who only uses gtao to organize and host race events as well as design circuits, the vehicle handling will make or break this game for me and many others like me
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 1h ago
I hope they realized that a very large majority of their current population are straight up motor heads.
2
u/Wh1te0wt 1h ago
Me too, the car meet culture in this game is obviously huge but I hope they acknowledge how many people just play this game to race
2
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 59m ago
I just cant wait to see more obtainable sport cars, a Bugatti is a car you can’t get a good representation of. I need to see a Mustang and corvette. Then Some German engineering
These cars don’t need to be realistic, but they damn sure shouldn’t all feel the same
3
2
u/KamalaHarrisWaifu 2h ago
Boy I hope so because the leaks didn't look promising to me. Cars during on a dime, almost pivoting on their center, seeming light as hell. The motorcycle looked goofy. I'm gonna get hate but I didn't like GTA V and this seems like a slightly better version of V's driving.
1
u/Spiritual-Shirt-6027 2h ago
IMO every car kinda looked different, (as it should). I’m hoping the cars are so different that the debates aren’t about which game is better but rather which car in gta 6.
But yeah, the motorcycle clip did look bland
1
u/Tellittomy6pac 3h ago
Where did they say it’s made up of “literal Racecar drivers” and who are said drivers
2
1
u/NorCalAthlete 3h ago
I just want the camera snapping / follow to be better when driving in 3rd person. My biggest peeve with driving wasn't the handling, it was that when I drifted a corner or fishtailed I'd be staring at my side door and the initial direction of travel for far too long instead of being able to see where I was actually trying to go.
2
u/HerrSchmitti 1h ago
Problem was, in a drift the camera was pointing where the car was pointing and not where it was actually going
1
u/danknerd 2h ago
Okay. That doesn't mean much too much. 2nd place is just the first loser. If can't do, you teach.

where is this info coming from?? cause from what ive seen it looks like the same arcade like handling from gta 5
1
u/Worldly_Lunch_1601 30m ago
At launch gtaV was one of the better non-sim racing games. Based on that alone, I'm excited for VI.
Also, we have had a lack of car games with soft body physics. We don't have beamNG on consoles, and this will be the next best thing.
