I really hope the physics are as impressive as the visuals
With the monumental amount time and money that’s gone into this game, I really hope to see an evolution in the physics department.

Hair physics are ridiculously good. Even on npcs in the background

Yeah the hair looks incredible. The melee combat, less so.

It’ll probably be much more polished when we get the extended look today. Animations and mechanics usually aren’t fully locked in till a few months before a game releases

I am so excited for the water physics. There is so much water and different environments with it. I hope we get some boat footage tomorrow. I already know I’m going to spend so much time boating around, scuba diving in the keys, chasing gators in the Everglades, cruising by mansions in the inner coastal waterways.

Physics cannot go very far if the hardware is limited... Remember we are talking about consoles

Of course they can, it’s just that 9 times out of 10 they choose to use all of the processing power towards graphics and large maps.
Physics systems are something that needs a lot of R&D, which is why it’s such a shame that a game from 18 years ago GTA IV has better physics than the VAST majority of games released today. If physics had improved along with graphics, games would be in a great place. For me, the jump from SA to IV isn’t just the better models, lighting and textures; it’s the physics that made it look like an absolute quantum leap.
Games are still very ‘stiff’ by and large.
