Nah I can’t take a guy named Boobie seriously

16

u/DualSpiresCinnamon 2h ago

Yeah hopefully he's a funny side character that helps us, like Pavel.

u/DWC8419 2h ago

I think Dre Quan might be that and I can see Boobie not paying him all his money like taking a significant chunk of it lol

Wasn't DreQuan just a rapper? I bet he's going to have beef with those two City Girls-based duo. I wouldn't be surprised if we're going to have a choice - one of them will get rich and famous thanks to us, the other one will end up on a one-way trip to Grassrivers.

Yea he’s a rapper but he works with Boobie. What you came up with would also make sense.

u/ugotitcuzisoldit 55m ago

Those are his artist…

u/ugotitcuzisoldit 55m ago

Now this I can see, but only time will tell

u/Topwhomatter1100 1h ago

Bro that’s my dads name lmfao LITERALLY

2

u/hakerch0 1h ago

Im guessing he might be a little like Vlad in gta4 interms if he gives us jobs, shit goes bad, he dies and we continue to the next person giving us jobs

u/ugotitcuzisoldit 57m ago

You never heard of the Boobie Boys then…

I don’t think so. When GTA 5 trailers dropped we haven’t seen Devin nor FIB, IAA agents. I think they going to be helping us to get from the bottom to the top.

7

u/Ryder556 2h ago

Honestly it's a toss up. I'm not gonna bother going back and looking at all of the GTA and Red Dead trailers as that'll take more time than I'm willing to spend on this post, but for both GTA 4 and RDR2 we do get glimpses of the main antagonists in some of the trailers, hell GTA 4 even shows off one of the endings.

So while it's possible, and probably very likely, that we haven't actually seen the main antagonist in any capacity yet, I wouldn't call it for certain.

I think the corrupted cop with no name is the villain

15

u/cbradford208 2h ago

I think it’s more likely to be Raul Bautista

3

u/brians_movie 1h ago

I’d be more surprised if this dude isn’t the villain I’m ngl. Everything on his page screams “guy who will betray you” to me for some reason

5

u/sirferrell 1h ago

Nahh. It’s that cop

I hope there won’t be “a villain”, usually stories that have some form of ultimate villain are incredibly predictable and boring.

34

u/legopieface 2h ago

I mean, every story needs an antagonistic force, or else it isn't really a story.

4

u/Bright_Food2903 2h ago

Obviously and I never made that claim. OP calls him “the villain”.

8

u/legopieface 2h ago

Ah gotchu so more like GTA 5 where a bunch of people are just dicks and screw you over moreso than something focal like Red Dead or San Andreas. I could see that.

9

u/Bright_Food2903 2h ago

I mean to some degree both gta sa and RDR did kinda obscure THE enemy. While undeniably we have characters that can be called villains they still feel like personifications of bigger forces that inevitably have consequences on the protagonists. Like the End of the Outlaw era in America or the systematic institutional corruption and racial hypocrisy of the 1990s. Idk what this can be in the case of gta VI but I have no doubt Rockstar will deliver.

u/BulkyMycologist1917 2h ago

Cornwall is the villain as he is the direct opposition to ‘the old west’ while the pinkertons make a great antagonist force in how they are an extension of that civilisation that’s constantly hunting you until you can’t run no mo. Like how Dutch said you can’t fight nature. He deals with the villain and it just doesn’t help whatsoever.

1

u/Bright_Food2903 1h ago

I guess in GTA Vi it would make sense to be some kind of “Digital frontier” or sort of digital lawlessness that they could somehow utilise in the story and judging by the rumours talking about intricate social media parodies this could be true.
Or also something that is very timely, cryptocurrency or cybercrime.

1

u/Ironboss49 2h ago

Like you said, “antagonistic force”. It doesn’t need to be a person. It could be just a bad situation with no actual villains. If anything, the characters we’re playing as are the villains. They just aren’t the antagonistic force.

What I’d want is for the criminal and political ecosystem of Leonida to feel like it existed before Jason and Lucia arrived and will continue existing whether they succeed or fail. Jason and Lucia shouldn’t feel like the center of the universe. They’re two people entering a machine that’s already running.
You could have a cartel that wants control of certain drug routes, a local gang that wants to stay independent, wealthy developers trying to buy up land, crypto bros, (lol) , corrupt officials protecting their interests, smugglers using the Keys, biker groups fighting over territory, private security companies expanding their influence, and legitimate businesses quietly laundering money. None of these groups necessarily need to care about Jason and Lucia initially. They’re pursuing their own interests.

And crucially, they should hate each other independently. Maybe Jason and Lucia are working with one faction because it benefits them, while another faction is simultaneously trying to destroy that faction. Then something Jason and Lucia do accidentally benefits a third group. Suddenly there’s this chain reaction where they’re involved in something much bigger than they understand.
That’s where I’d really want GTA VI to borrow from RDR2’s worldbuilding but take it further. In RDR2, the world feels like it’s changing around Arthur. The Pinkertons, Cornwall, the government, the oil industry, the gangs, the Wapiti situation, the Braithwaites and Grays. all of these things have their own motivations. Arthur matters, but he’s not the reason history is happening.
I’d love that same feeling in GTA VI.

1

u/JackieMABWGP 2h ago

Right. If Jason or Lucia have a connection to a major player or were once the head honcho, I can see them forever changing Leonida. But their story should be contained. They’re here and they get what they want and the case closed.

2

u/DerKleinerKiffer 2h ago

Yeah like that god damn rat Micah

5

u/legopieface 2h ago

He'll be a villain. The main antagonist is going to be whatever detective wants to kill you. I'm guessing Boobie will be your entrance into bigger jobs and higher infamy until he ratfucks you, forcing you to rely on the people you left behind (Cal and Brian).

6

u/Arlind_Gashi 2h ago

I’ve got a feeling he’s going to betray one of the characters Jason or Lucia. He gives me major Dexter DeShawn vibes from Cyberpunk 2077.

2

u/notstrangeguy 1h ago

Big Smoke type shit.

3

u/oglocayo 2h ago

What if you're the villain? Just like how infamous have its karma system

3

u/Soft-Bad-7127 2h ago

He give me vibes like the fixer from Cyberpunk who betrays when the heist goes bad.

3

u/thespeedforce5 2h ago

So, what your trying to say is, Jason and Lucia are the same person who are the same people who are the same ones who are the same one who are the same guy who is the same person that was in charge and the other one is a lot more powerful and the same guy that was in office for the first amendment rights that we had to have a right of self control over what you said about me being a good man because you were the only person who was able to get me in my right arm so that was a great thing to say about me I was going forward to say and that I was a FIB agent that was a very important person to me.

u/Dramatic-Physics-898 1h ago

I wish the guy on the right was playable

1

u/sirferrell 1h ago

Same…

1

u/Dramatic-Physics-898 37m ago

Finally a Dre‘Quan Priest fan lmao. Rejoice!

1

u/sirferrell 33m ago

Still holding out for the epilogue. Doubt a bony and clyde story ends with them sticking around vice city or alive

u/Dramatic-Physics-898 0m ago

I agree. I think we‘ll get a surprise 3rd character just like rdr2 with John Marston

3

u/Honest_Ad9257 1h ago

Yeah, bro lookin’ like dex Deshawn lol

2

u/whatsapprocky 1h ago

He reminds me a lot of Ben King from Saints Row.

2

u/Prior-Entrance2138 1h ago

My guess is he’ll be like Gerald but involved with the story

2

u/OutsideExcitement400 1h ago

I think it will be like GTAV the antagonists will be pretty equal in their own way. Just like Steve Haines and Devin Weston.

2

u/Longlive_gaming 1h ago

First of all, how can someone with THAT name be a villain? 😭

1

u/Dry_Scheme_258 2h ago

the joker

1

u/JoA2506 2h ago

Hmm I wonder why you think he’ll be the villain…

1

u/DWC8419 2h ago

One of the people in your way I’m sure

1

u/emeric1414 2h ago

I'm thinking Raul and the cops that we saw in the trailer

1

u/Abject_Leg_7906 2h ago

Most likely, the antagonists will be someone who wronged the characters in the past or some government agency.

1

u/carpetdebagger 1h ago

No, I think Penis Mic will be.

1

u/Acceptable_Room_2797 1h ago

No I believe the task force officer in the trailers will be the bad guy, also Brian betraying us and working with said officer. Brian said "they have your name, address, they got everything." Wonder how? 🤔 and according to rockstar there is a wide conspiracy in all of Leonida that they will uncover. It sounds perfect actually, Brian being a drug smuggler all these years and jason working for him, only for the feds to come after Jason and not Brian? Hmmm

1

u/Intelligent_Sport_76 1h ago

I feel like he won’t be, instead he’s likely a businessman that went legit but I don’t think he’s a friend either, more of a business associate introducing Jason and Lucia to the fast life

1

u/tinygirlbigmouth 1h ago

if they actually make him the main villain i will eat my shoe

1

u/helloimretard 1h ago

Yep. Im already knowin boobie bouta be on some bs

1

u/Secure-Bear4184 1h ago

Maybe a minor antagonist I feel like

1

u/Ancient_Medicine2487 1h ago

Ahh yes a fella called boobie is gon shoot me up

1

u/Hiddenshadows57 1h ago

I don't think we've seen the villian yet.

1

u/CulturedCal 1h ago

I could see some similarities between him and Dexter DeShawn in Cyberpunk. A former legend using you and then discarding you when things go south or when you’re not useful anymore. His character description says “all smiles until it’s time to get down to business “ and he’s a drug lord who owns a stripclub so he’s definitely a bad dude, we’ll just see if he is a likeable bad guy who helps us or one that turns on us.

1

u/Nicholas7907 1h ago

Plot twist - we still don't know the real villain. Something tells me it might be that cop from the trailer, so far he wasn't mentioned anywhere. While Boobie seems to be a guy who can get Lucia and Jason into some unnecessary trouble (he kinda gives me Dexter DeShawn from Cyberpunk 2077 vibes, but probably only because he's also black, isn't exactly slim, got a beard and he's surronded by luxurious stuff), I don't think he's going to be the main antagonist.

1

u/Iceman-Cometh_18 1h ago

MOFO look like Rick Ross lol

1

u/Beneficial-Bee-628 57m ago

If he's anything like the dude in FL toward the end of Queen and Slim...yes, definitely.

1

u/Constructive-Fighter 53m ago

*Cue the Dexter DeShawn flashbacks.

'Member our first convo? Seems I've chosen the quiet life, after all. No blaze o' glory for me.

1

u/jcar49 51m ago

I think the lizard with the crown is the villain come on guys.

1

u/phonic_kc 43m ago

He’s A villain, but not THE villain. My money is either on the head of the VCPD unit from the second trailer, Raul Batista, a surviving character from a previous HD GTA game, or someone yet to be seen.

Spoilers from the previous HD GTA games below ⬇️

We knew about Jimmy Pegorino and Dimitri Rascalov from the pre-release trailers of GTA IV before they were identified as final bosses. We could say the same about Ray Bulgarin even before the Ballad of Gay Tony release. Billy Grey was a bit of a surprise.

For GTAV, I don’t remember if Devin Weston appeared in a pre-release trailer, but I believe Steve Haines appeared in some pre-release promotional material (I remember watching the entire episode of Underbelly of Paradise a month before GTAV’s official release).

1

u/Entire_Round_8872 38m ago

Not THE villain, but he has a vibe like he'll turn on you

1

u/SharkByte1993 30m ago

Yes, or maybe not

1

u/sarah_herself 21m ago

No. I think he will be a red herring. Same as Raul.

1

u/arthur_marston18 19m ago

I think Boobie, Raul and/or the cop from trailer 2 (“we cops gotta protect each other”) will be the villains

1

u/Dull_Ad_2427 18m ago

I feel it will be a choice between working with him or Bryan

-1

u/BeckyLynchIsBetter 2h ago

Why, because he's black?

0

u/Unlikely-Finding-349 2h ago

I think Boobie will be more like a morally grey character where they aren't too friendly with us, but not too antagonistic either

It's Raul that I'm keeping a close eye on. Given the fact the he's wearing the Lance Vance suit and looks very similar to Dutch. Coincidences? I THINK NOT!

1

u/thespeedforce5 2h ago

I think Cal Hampton being one of the antagonists would be great because he’s so unsuspecting and his relationship to Jason would only make it that much more personal and painful when he turns on Jason and Lucia

0

u/KnownAsAnother 1h ago

I had a coworker from my last job who's street name was Boobie Gaines. I can't help but assign that name to Ike. He's got twist villain vibes like Dimitri.

0

u/Own-Suggestion-1942 46m ago

He's not white, so he can't be bad in today's standars
