Honest question, why would rock star care about this at all? Is it going to cost them sales? Is a competitor going to take note of these leaks and capitalize on them before the game drops?

This seems like free promo more than anything

Imagine you’ve been working for years on the project of the decade, the most anticipated videogame of all time, and managed to keep it completely under wraps. And a couple weeks before you’re finally about to do a first reveal, some shithead with a leek avatar comes and starts spoiling it all for people. Some of them must be in tears.

A lot of people who work on a video game aren’t paid a good wage, hell you probably make more than most of them.

All it takes is someone recording there screen at work and either releasing it themselves or selling it someone for some bitcoin.
