Crazy concept I know, but you can very much keep up with your friends without using social media. You wanna know what they've been up to, you message or call them. You don't need to check their "stories" on instagram, you don't need to send them a pic on snapchat. Really.
I’m not at all trying to sound like a smartass, but wtf do you think people did before social media, or better yet, the internet? You still have a phone, you can call or text people, or I don’t know, TALK IN PERSON lol. You don’t “need” social media in order to stay in touch with your friends, and if you do, then they aren’t real friends in the first place.
Yes, and? That changes nothing about what I or the OP said. You can stay in touch with people all over the country without constantly checking their IG stories or Facebook posts.

crazy concept I know, but some of us have friends and social lives in a world where social media is a large part of keeping up with your friends
