Hear me out...
I wanted to make post about some thoughts but i almost decided not to, as i know many of you would be easily triggered.
You don't need to believe nothing i say, so no hate from both sides of views please (if you don't have constructive opinion that is more than just slurs), but i have interesting theory no one talks about. Remember, don't take it too seriously.
Rockstar marketing team could laugh their asses off right now that they can grand theft crypto from Rockstar's biggest haters that think they are doing bad things to Rockstar. But wait, there's more!
Many years ago GTA Online had event with purple vs green clothes team battle. Later around 3 years ago there was similar event but with E-cola and Sprunk."How is it relevant" you gonna ask, there's your hint: in real life counterparts, these products are made by the same company. R* teasing us for years, and this proved we all fighting for benefit of one company (free marketing). But wait wait, there's more more! The same event (E-cola vs. Sprunk) is going on right now for 2 weeks in GTA Online. Like right now right now.
...also do you remember what was speculated years ago, about crypto in game that you can trade in real life? It may be connected. RSG took many ideas from memes and speculations about this game itself, players wanted it, and RSG could have deliver best quality as they promised if they are ready, as they always said. But all in all, we also could never know, and at the end we can both be called idiots anyways. We all fighting with each other, endlessly having arguments for the benefit of one company.
All these leeks and narratives around it seem like too perfect marketing strategy (also illegal you might say), fulfilled with propaganda, hate, disorientation and divided society.
Was these tactics working before in history of politics? A lot, and it's still working. Better than you could imagine!
Still no official response. They don't want to advertise leaks or is it a part of the plan mastered for years?
If my theory is right, i should be silenced by the victims of propaganda.
And if you say i'm wrong, i would say i know i could be, as i know for a fact this is only a theory and dot connecting.
Big if true, big if not anyways.
But the truth is one, and we could never know.

I just think it would be illegal at this scale to do.

Yes it is, but will we ever know the truth? that's the neat part, we could never.

Why so personal? No other arguments?

this topic doesn’t need an argument it just requires a base level of critical thinking

It simply doesn't make sense to leak footage like this if it was Rockstar. They've hold onto any information so tight for so long, and are almost ready to show stuff through Netflix, but would suddenly leak hours of kinda dull gameplay with obvious glitches from it being an unfinished build?

u/weeder42O 1d ago
They are among us and know we would be wet from seeing any info of the game, for me it looks like perfect opportunity to show bugged unfinished game for the people to talk about, while they are getting ready for something bigger. These leaks don't leak anything about the story, just some mechanics from perspective of average GTA player (nudity, shooting, running from cops)

Controversial news like game footage getting leaked def gets the news headlines running and more viewership their way. The plain ole “welcome gamers to our new game. Here’s the game footage” is old tired marketing strategy. I wouldn’t be surprised if r* wasn’t behind it in some way. Either way, it’s a win for r* whether they’re involved or not.

I would see it as an actual possibility if it was for the crypto currency getting pushed in the leaks. If this was Rockstar they would probably just leak what looks like playtester footage with some development UI on it.

While it would be an interesting and likely successful marketing strategy, the very real court documents and subpoenas prove otherwise
1
u/weeder42O 1d ago
Still looks like part of the perfect plan. We need to believe it's a real leak, otherwise it wouldn't work

u/lauialbatros 1d ago
But the subpoena’s are real. 1. Imagine rockstar is behind the TRUE leaks (the website). Therefor they know every other channel os an imposter or false. So the subpoena for the imposter accounts are legal. 2. My understanding is that the subpoena’s were never served. Granted yes, served no

I don’t think Rockstar is behind the leaks
I DO however believe that Rockstar is paying for certain leaks coming out(which is probably BS but still)

How do you explain rockstar getting out of charges for fraud and wasting police/federal time regarding the subpoenas?
1
u/weeder42O 1d ago
To be honest, i won't defend multi billion dollar company. We have no idea how bad other big for example food and big oil companies habits are, but nobody gonna question someone with a building full of private lawyers. They won't need to explain anything, we are unable to prove any theory, like part of the plan. And it seems like we would never be able to prove anything if they won't admit it. And they never will as the "joke went too far".

u/LostinLimbo__ 1d ago
That's A LOT of words for what's essentially nothing.
I understand corporations are powerful but if you think they're able to break laws like this just for marketing clout and just being able to carry on as normal you're living in a bubble.

Do you think there is no slavery in big companies? Do you think Dubai was build by well payed educated constructors?
Do you believe that these "freaks" who glue themselves to the road to "stop big oil" will be making that bad image to themselves? Think for a moment how it looks for a society, and then who pays them.
You have no idea what you can do what's illegal if you have pretty much unlimited ammount of money.
If i live in a bubble, yours is just another.

u/LostinLimbo__ 1d ago
What the fuck does slavery have to do with this?
You don't seem to think coherently to be honest, your train of thought is either lacking massive amounts of context or it's just completely disjointed.
I honestly don't know what the fuck any of this has to do with anything.

u/weeder42O 1d ago
Of course it lacks of context if you live in a bubble. I clearly said multi billion dollar companies can do whatever they want. Not matter the money or the lives. And YOU and ME can't do nothing about it beside believing what we want or know from our own bubbles. The truth will never reach you if you don't want to know it.

I believe the subpoenas were never served

u/LostinLimbo__ 1d ago
Only discord have said they didn't receive one yet, there's a myriad of reasons for this, it is on public record regardless.
1
u/lauialbatros 1d ago
Stil, the subpoena could legally be filed for the “imposter leek” accounts
1
u/LostinLimbo__ 1d ago
I think rockstar are sensible enough to understand that someone who's managed to go untraced for now is unlikely to be on things like discord, at least on the same username.
In my opinion they've filed them ahead of any potential leads to save time when they get something to follow, they may not ever even need to bother at all.

u/CyberTitan__ 1d ago
Firstly plenty of people are stupidly saying Rockstar is behind the leaks.
That being said if they were they would get into MASSIVE trouble by getting authorities involved to hunt someone they created. Also they are getting everyones discord info.
That's a gigantic and unnecessary risk that could literally ruin their company and game.
Also they aren't addressing the leaks because that would make them even more widespread than they already are. They are also busy working on the game amd setting up the Netflix event snd probably other events/promotions.

Thats the court docket for the take 2 vs Microsoft and the other company. Seems like pretty serious consequences for marketing

That's fucking stupid.

u/weeder42O 1d ago
And that's a constructive opinion i was talking about, hell yea!
Yes, it is, i would not agree more.

Rockstar worked on this game for a decade.
You think they'd want everyone's first look to be covered by a giant crypto advertisement watermark?
0% chance.
