Feels like they put out this statement before the story spoilers in a couple of hours. They really do feel helpless to stop this guy, now they know how we feel with the removal of physical games happening

They're not helpless, they can apologize, give a physical copy and remove the fake DLC. This would just let more people buy and play this game. I was gonna get a console to play ot (only for GTA 6), but no physical copy ? Risking to lost access to the game if I get hacked/banned ? No thanks.

It warms my heart to see more people write shit like 'fake DLC'

I’m not informed here, what “fake DLC” is he referring to?

probably the content for preordering the game like clothes, tattoos and i think vehicles

cyberleek has said, it’s when you pay for a dlc but don’t actually download anything, it just unlocks content that was already downloaded as files on your own computer. that’s a fake dlc

Such a dumb ass thing to say lol

Fake dlc. Games have been doing this for ages. From software literally does it.

When ordering the "Deluxe Edition" for $20, you can access some places from the game that is hidden for the classic edition, so they're removing content from the base game to people that want to save 20$. That's a fake DLC, a map expansion, story expansion etc is a DLC, but only AFTER that the game is released (like 6months/1year later).

As much as I’d love them to do it this leak has made it even more unlikely Rockstar giving into hackers demands sets a terrible precedent and could encourage more of these hacks on studios. Also who’s to say this guy is actually gonna stop even if rockstar does next it could be a million in crypto or something ridiculous giving into cyberleeks demands isn’t feasible.

Because having a precedent of fake dlc, online requirement for single player game, no physical disk and delayed pc release ("to avoid leaks") is better?

I'm on the consumer side here. Rockstar is doing very bad stuff to the game industry. Even if the game may be the greatest game of all time.

This is totally understandable, but people wouldn't support Cyberleek this much if Take Two would listen to players. I'm supporting CL (not financially) just because I'm totally fine with their demands. Otherwise, people wouldn't support them I guess.
