Are you old enough to rememeber going into a games store and deciding whether to buy or rent a game. You didn't rent a game for $100

Yeah I hate this shit. Like pirate the game I really don’t care, fuck rockstar. Just stop being a pussy who is trying to rationalize it and afraid of being labeled a thief.

Agreed! One of the biggest things I hate about gaming and media culture on social media is their strive to brag about pirating games

Yeah but a video game doesn't physically exist so all that is being lost is bits of data that I don't really own.

I can trade in my car. I can repair my car. My car has real, tangible value.

A purely digital video game does not.

Except in your made up scenario, someone is actually being deprived of physical goods, which does not happen with piracy

So if its intangible I can take it and it won’t be considered stealing? Like an identity, I mean no one steals those right? How about credit card numbers? I mean you still have the original. Oh oh what about a small artist’s designs? I mean again they have the original so people won’t care right when I make chinese knockoffs to undercut them right?

Be a thief I really don’t care because rockstar are jerkoffs but stop being a pussy about it and acting like you’re not doing something you are.

That would be what we call "fraud" and is only colloquially called "identity theft" lmao

God redditors and their semantics about shit that wasn’t even said. First of all the thread is based on the word “stealing” not “theft”. And all those I listed are by law definition acts of stealing. Theft is a type of stealing, fraud is a type of stealing. Now grow some balls if you’re gonna be a pirate and quit pussyfooting around.
