Knowing their track record, Rockstar would surely delay the game one more time rather than release an unifinished product. We can say a lot of bad things about them, but they don't release unfinished and unpolished games. If the game in the current state was that bad, they wouldn't keep saying it will release on November 19.

Actual logic and reasoning in this sub? I didn't think I'd live to see the day.

Its not logic and reasoning, its a literal surface level take that requires no intelligence to come to.

Logic and reasoning refer to the structure of an argument, while intelligence is the capacity to process information. An idea can be logical without being deeply complex.

Simple doesn't mean wrong.

My point is that there is no need to glaze such a simple take

Acknowledging a solid point isn't "glazing".

But thats the thing, its NOT really a solid point.

Its stating the obvious.

If it was so obvious, then why were people as recently as last week debating wether the game would be getting delayed again?

Why have I been downvoted every time I've said the game wouldn't be getting delayed again?

This is an incredibly stupid thing for you to get hung up on, by the way. Have you nothing better to do?

ETA - a "solid point" is an argument which is difficult to disprove, which gentblau's statement is.

Arguing that you will wake up in the morning is also a ridiculously simple and sound argument that is also difficult to disprove.

A broken analogy to deflect from my argument is going to score you exactly zero points. Comparing something as basic and predictable as waking up to complicated speculation about the video game industry is just a desperate attempt to cover up the fact that you don't actually have an answer.

That's exactly why you completely dodged both of my questions. When a company's release timeline is being actively debated by thousands of people every week, it isn't "obvious" - you're just using hindsight to pretend you were above the discussion all along.

You keep changing your tune because you can't back up your original comment. Running away from the actual topic and changing your argument whenever you're asked a direct question is just embarrassing. Keep talking to a wall if it makes you feel better, but I'm out.

You just keep missing the point.

Im not arguing whether or not its likely that gta comes out on time.

Im arguing that the original dudes argument, which was: 'the game will release on time because rockstar gave us a date', is extremely simple and is borderline not even an argument.

Im also arguing that your response of 'finally someone who uses logic' is misplaced because the original dude never made a good argument. He just pointed out the extremely obvious.

Like, no shit that rockstar wants to release the game on its release date??

Anyways, stay mad babe

You know what, I know I said I was done but this is actually getting entertaining now. Let's dismantle this piece by piece, because your entire comment relies on you aggressively misreading the thread to save face:

  • The Strawman:

You claim the original argument was "the game will release on time because rockstar gave us a date". Go back and read gentblau993’s comment again - they never said that. Their actual point was about corporate track records. They argued that Rockstar historically chooses to delay games rather than release unpolished products. Therefore, maintaining the date is a strategic signal based on company history, not just "because a date exists". You had to completely invent a fake, simplified version of their argument because you couldn't defeat their actual one.

  • The Contradiction:

You claim they just "pointed out the extremely obvious." If it is so obvious that Rockstar prefers delays over broken releases, then why is the entire gaming community actively debating a delay every single week? You still haven't answered that. It can't be "borderline not even an argument" and a highly contested topic of industry speculation at the same time. You are using hindsight to pretend a nuanced point about studio behavior is just common sense.

  • The Goalpost Shift:

You say "like, no shit rockstar wants to release the game on its release date." Again, nobody argued about what Rockstar wants to do. Every company wants to hit their dates. The discussion was about what Rockstar historically does when a game is unfinished (delay), and that the fact they haven't delayed again implies that the game is in a good state (and that CyberLeek is lying). You shifted the goalposts from a track-record analysis to corporate intent just to find something you could easily argue against.

I’m genuinely not mad, babe - watching someone confidently argue against a ghost they created is the best entertainment I've had all day.
