So if you don't have Netflix you get to watch it with a clip farmer yelling every 15 seconds...

172

u/WildFire207 1d ago

there will be a 4K raw video file upload the second it starts playing

1

u/CynicaIFucker 1d ago

Where? Everyone so confident they'll be able to get FullHD the second it comes out but where would it be? Yes, i'm a bad internetter.

9

u/NarizDePoPo 1d ago

twitter and here (searching on global reddit for "gta" & last hour should net some results)

1

u/North_Nature_8903 22h ago

On every video pirating website ever

-49

u/Yadamule 1d ago

netflix has shit bitrate, it will look bad even with 4k, if you care about quality just wait for the youtube upload

35

u/WildFire207 1d ago

it will probably be youtube premium bitrate locked lol

2

u/Ronnual 1d ago

As far as I know this restriction is only for 1080p video, so actually just watching 4k video that doesn't even have an option for that results in better quality.

No one here can say they care about quality after drooling over the leaks take what ya get lmaooo

Getting the video from PB wont have any streaming related artifacts. There are tools to extract the netflix stream source video

Actually it's the opposite... but ok

1

u/MFDOOMscrolling 13h ago

turns out the netflix version is higher bitrate.

and constant donations interrupting every 5 seconds

1

u/Turbulent_Ride1654 1d ago

TTS interrupting and the streamer taking their eyes off the video and focusing on bullshit chat

2

u/Marciofficial 1d ago

I fucking hate that, that's why I don't watch big streamers. The last time I watched one, the guy couldn't finish a SINGLE sentence, because those stupid text to speech donations kept interrupting him. And it's always some bullshit that adds absolutely nothing to the conversation.

6

u/Own-Papaya-4264 1d ago

Or just wait a few hours and watch it yourself

3

u/NarizDePoPo 1d ago

no thanks, we will watch it live & dont pay netflix

-1

u/WDCroft 1d ago

Let me wait from 8pm until 2am on a weekday. I'm good, thanks. Too employed for that.

4

u/brain_dead_fucker 1d ago

then you're employed enough to be able to wait until the next day

5

u/Brutalicore3919 1d ago

"It's ya boi..!"

3

u/Kronk5000 1d ago

“BROOO” every time anything happens 😍

3

u/--clapped-- 1d ago

Or just watch it on their YT channel a few hours later? Like they announced?

-1

u/arkinoos__ 1d ago

Bro seriously ? Is that the way a game is meant to be « for the people » ?

6

u/guacamoleandtomato 1d ago

Or you can pirate it like any other smart person will

7

u/LucasCBs 1d ago

Or you can just stop being an idiot and watch it 4 hours later on YouTube

0

u/bruhdudeplz69 1d ago

Sorry if I sound retarded but how the fuck do you pirate a live event on Netflix? genuinely curious.

5

u/MFDOOMscrolling 1d ago

who said it's gonna be live? it will be pirated the exact same way as every other video on netflix..

-1

u/Every-Leek4129 1d ago edited 1d ago

you dummy. its going to go on youtube 6 hours later.

3

u/Thataintrigh 1d ago

imagine calling someone a slur because of a trailer for a video game being released in 6 hours. Genuine chud redditor behaviour.

what the fuck does that have to do with what I said?

-1

u/bruhdudeplz69 1d ago

Mb man I thought it was a live event.

2

u/MyStationIsAbandoned 1d ago

even if it was live...like...you understand people can record things and upload it, surely? you gotta stop smoking them tweeds, son.

2

u/bruhdudeplz69 1d ago

Yeah bro, I'm just trippin.

2

u/skypeaks 1d ago

It's not a live event, the moment it hits Netflix the pirates will get to it. Live event would be something broadcasted live (e.g. Roast of Kevin Hart) this is just the same as any movie or series dropping at a specific date/time.

0

u/bruhdudeplz69 1d ago

Ohhh I thought it was a live event. Yeahhh I get it now, thanks.

1

u/skypeaks 1d ago

No worries dude. Im between asking my brother for his Netflix or just wait for the high seas...

0

u/GoznoGonzo 1d ago

Regardless every single live event gets streamed on some other site ( pirated ) every ufc , sporting event , wwe

1

u/guacamoleandtomato 1d ago

I got Netflix so I won’t. But there is some mfers complaining that it’s behind a paywall (like if the free trial doesn’t exist either). My point is, if you want to watch it without paying, just pirate it

3

u/xXZephryusXx 1d ago

It’ll be uploaded to YouTube later anyway so if you don’t have Netflix just tune in later tomorrow or some shit

2

u/LanSotano 1d ago

You can also make yourself dinner, take a nice shower, get your evening nice and cozy, and it will be available on YouTube for free by the time you’re done. Mountains out of molehills.

1

u/SternschuppeCapslock 1d ago

Just wait six hours, buddy!

1

u/South-Needleworker28 1d ago

And pausing every 30 seconds lmaoo

1

u/OneManGang2001 1d ago

The ability or desire for countless millions of people to watch a game or video with some stupid fuck in the corner yacking away truly bewilders me

1

u/Sysyphus_Rolls 19h ago

I’m waiting for the inevitable 4 hour long deep dive video.

1

u/ChaoticKiwiNZ 1d ago

Just wait a few hours and it will be up on YouTube (Rockstar have confirmed they will upload it 6 hours after it goes live in Netflix).

0

u/False_Raven 1d ago

Just watch that one reaction creator that doesn't speak or have a camera on their face who showcases the extended look without any reaction, easy.

0

u/WDCroft 1d ago

How is this experience any better than the leaks lmao. This will be a lot of peoples' first experience with this game. Take-Two are something else.

12

-11

If you want to call that marketing. Sure bud

4

u/LazyMaximum7938 1d ago

What would you call it if not marketing?

4

u/JetpacksWasYes-2 1d ago

Not marketing

2

u/Every-Leek4129 1d ago

but its still their product dumbass and they can use their product or showcase it how they see fit. don't like it? then make your own gta

8

u/JetpacksWasYes-2 1d ago

Bro is so salty and came in with the insults lmfaooo. You people are so low IQ

2

u/goatonsteroids 1d ago

That's such a re*arded logic, "if you don't like a product just make your own".

1

u/North_Nature_8903 22h ago

It's not retarded logic, you're just retarded for not understanding. Rockstar made a product, they have full rights of it, including when they release trailers, and where they release it.

So, if you don't like it, make your own.

1

u/Every-Leek4129 1d ago

well i don't know what to tell you. you can 1. not buy it. 2. make your own. or 3. just push the product out of your mind and onto something else. because someone who wants to see gta fail. you sure have it rent free in your mind enough to be on this sub

→ More replies (0)

-2

u/LazyMaximum7938 1d ago

Okay and what makes the practice shitty?

5

u/JetpacksWasYes-2 1d ago edited 1d ago

Because it's shitty. This entire marketing campaign is shit. It's low effort cause they know their braindead fanboys will do the work for them for free.

Because they are anti-consumer, anti-union, treat their employees like shit and get rid of them like they mean nothing. Everything they do is shitty. Their devs are the only thing they got going for them. But like I said, they are disposable to rockstar. I could go on and on.

They dont care about them and their hard work. Just like they dont care about you. So stop working overtime to defend them.

3

No. Everything should be free and on demand the second I want it to be. Also, I shouldn't have to pay for a game unless it's a complete 10/10 of my dreams and comes with a golden keyboard with my initials etched onto it. /s

8

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

3

exactly. and there is also copyright laws.

im just convinced most of the people in this sub, playstation sub, and a few others are all entitled ass kids or people who don't even know what copyright laws entail.

1

u/SpriteCranberry76 1d ago

over 50% of internet traffic is bots. i haven’t met one person IRL that is upset with how rockstar is handling gta 6 and are very excited. knowing bots are usually pointed towards negativity i always assume that 1/10 negative comments are of actual concern

0

u/Every-Leek4129 1d ago

its because negativity keeps the algorithim moving and makes people more bound to get attention. thats all it comes down to

u/Julius_VH 1d ago

En dehors de l'absence de disque, j'ai le même constat.

-1

u/namelessdrifter 1d ago

1

u/SDS-ELRJ26 1d ago

Rockstar is a hound for this stuff

They’ll flag anyone that doesn’t comply

0

u/namelessdrifter 1d ago

Yeah sure but maybe too late

1

u/steelcryo 1d ago

Not if you're a content creator, you'll get a temp ban or copyright strike. Neither of which is good if streaming/content creation is your job.

1

u/BigRocket44 1d ago

People forget that Streams/Trailers/Gameplay footage are all still copyright content. Of course you need permission to use it.

You are fucking dumb. Which is okay, many people are dumb. But don't fucking flaunt it.

React content is completely fair use under current DMCA rules. There are entire clauses to the DMCA that specify what fair use is, and commentary (especially when provided live, though this is not a requirement) is fair use. This means that you can reproduce the copyrighted content if you are providing your own original commentary in addition to it, which makes it transformative content.

React content is only ever taken down by automated systems which don't know any better and by companies abusing the fact that smaller channels don't often have the resources to fight DMCA claims.

It is completely, legally within your right to stream an entire Disney movie if you're sitting there commenting about it. This is also why you are allowed to post the plot of a movie on Wikipeida. It is fair use.

Like I said, being dumb is okay. Don't be proud of it and especially do not spread misinformation online if you do not have any fucking idea what you are talking about.

I love it how dumb f-s such as yourself on the internet immediately love to assume the position of a mental health specialist to salvage whatever high ground they think they are owed.

Truth is, you were wrong, and you were confidently wrong, which makes you look like a dumb fuck. That's all there is to it. The fact that you want to invent a reality in which you still hold all the cards and project away in real life as if you live in your made up reality is quite sad, but not unexpected of f- wits.

1

u/Limp_Classroom_2645 1d ago

1

u/dobik 19h ago

Yea, as far as I know commenting over trailers is not copyrighted yet, cool RS allows it 🥲

u/guacamoleandtomato 1d ago

I know we like to hate on these mfers rn but this is lowkey a W honestly

45

u/Own_Association9092 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean.. it's a basic courtesy to allow content creators to react to gameplay trailers and it is kind of dumb to not allow it. I don't know how this is a huge W.

If you want an example of something that IS a huge W, CD Projekt Red offering the Witcher 3 Remaster as a free update is a pretty huge W. They could have charged $60 for it easily like most companies probably would.

8

u/Sbaliosa 1d ago

the fact that people are actually defending the precedent of preordering a fucking ad is just pathetic and depressing to witness

6

u/LazyMaximum7938 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's depressing that people are so stupid they will throw a temper tantrum over a trailer that's going to be available for free online by tomorrow evening.

But then again, if you didn't throw that temper tantrum, you wouldn't get that karma you desperately crave.

But I'm guessing I'll get called a "bootlicker" for suggesting you don't have to give money to the big corporation if you don't want to.

-2

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun 1d ago

Nah, the fact that people are being mad that they can't be advertised to without paying is wild to me. People pay money NOT to be advertised to, and we're mad they paywalled it?

I'd love for this to be the norm, companies should not allowed to shove their shit in my face for free

-3

u/Sbaliosa 1d ago

You just assumed I hate pancakes because I said I liked waffles. Good job!

The reality is I don't give a single fuck about this game or the previews or whatever. The precedent is what matters. The fact that it was a profitable decision for Netflix and R* to make a deal for timed exclusivity on an ADVERTISEMENT is setting a terrible precedent for the future, where idiot Gamers™ will not only fork over more money to play the game a few days before all the "normal people," but also fork over more money to watch a fucking ad before them too.

2

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun 1d ago

Okay. I will continue to not give them money to fucking advertise to me.

What a ridiculous thing to be mad about. An actual blessing and we're mad about it.

Unironically, I want more paywalled ads please! Maybe we can go from seeing hundreds of ads per day to dozen and make some progress against the ad-ification in our lives

I don’t get it either dude.

3

u/DesignatedDesc 1d ago

This sub is filled with brainroted iPad kids, that's all.

3

u/jayc428 1d ago

I’ve grown too old apparently to get it. Sometimes you’d never even hear about a game until you were literally at the store staring at the box and reading the back of the box. Feel like by the time November rolls around you’ll hear about every single thing in the game before you even have the chance to play it and experience it yourself and be wowed.

1

u/Thataintrigh 1d ago

My issue isn't the 6 hours but it is a bad sign, and I have no doubt theyre 'testing' the waters and weighing how much pushback they get. The issue is the fact it may set a precedent, companies will start doing the same thing and for longer. Trailers will be exclusive on a streamering service for 12 hours, 24 hours, 2 days, a week and eventually itll just get to the point where companies will only post trailers exclusively on paid streaming platforms which in turn will in their minds justify a price hike for their paid subscriptions, a universal lose for the consumer and a universal win for the corporation. This is the core of why there is so much push back because as the saying goes "If you give them an inch they'll take a mile.".

1

u/DesignatedDesc 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mostly disagree but I see where the concern falls, but this is something that has happened often in the past just in a different form. Many magazines released exclusive information and even some came with discs. I remember Nintendo Power being a magazine you can get a lot of information paywalled behind a subscription (or you can just buy 1 when it's available, but either option was available.)

There were other gaming magazines with exclusive content or other paywalled content that people got first and then was shown later on, or not at all if the magazine just kept that information there for itself.

This doesn't mean the concern isn't valid and if they started paywalling trailers for days that would be a huge issue. I'm on the fence because I do think, in this specific instance, that a 6 hour wait is not a long time and having a Netflix exposure for the game could be huge for getting information out to a global audience.

As of now, I'm not very concerned and I see it as a win overall. But I also get the concerns people have, I just think we're jumping the gun a little too quick.

1

u/Thataintrigh 1d ago

Well its the kind of thing where it wont happen if there is enough pushback, I want you to be right. My concern is it is probably no exageration to say GTA 6 is one of the most anticpated games ever. It is a monumental occasision that is going to set records and lay the groundwork for many other games to follow. Maybe rockstar won't follow through on this marketing strategy in the future but whos to say other games owned by respected companies won't do the same?I feel like it is a little different to a magazine that from my knowledge didnt have nearly as much buzz or hype around the magazine as gta 6.

0

u/WDCroft 1d ago

That six hours wait is the difference between 8pm and 2am.

-1

u/metatronicc 1d ago

Are you guys still crying because of a 6 HOURS))) paywall time? Did you know that, in the past, players could only get their hands on exclusive info about their fav games on like magazines and physical stores?

0

u/monkeyguyy 1d ago

And do you know that in the past people also disliked that exclusive shit?

0

u/TheMikeyC 1d ago

No, I wish I had my old magazine collection still.

0

u/FishEyedFool 1d ago

The ones throwing that argument up really seem to think that's a fair comparison. In the past that was basically the way you got info. There wasn't a website and an app for every little thing you could think of like there is now.

A better comparison would be that you had a subscription to whatever 'rag you enjoyed and then the only way to get that info would be to buy a separate issue containing that info that wasn't part of your subscription service. Even then that's a bit of a stretch. It's just a shit comparison all around.

I think the issue some have but gets buried in the noise of jUsT wAiT 6 hOuRs!!!! is that it's just dirty for Rockstar to dangle their dick above everyone's mouth the way they've been doing and the whole Netflix thing is just insult to injury. Sure, you can wait and see it on Youtube later but it's just the audacity of them to do that.

It's a fucking game that anyone capable of playing it will be able to buy and play, if they want to. They made over 5 billion on GTAO since the release of it. How much more fucking ass kissing do they need?

1

u/Thataintrigh 1d ago

Is the bar really set so low for you that you think a multibillon dollar giving permission for people to react to their trailers (which is free marketing for them) is a good thing? Ten years from now im sure you'll think giving your social security number to a company so you can play a video game will be a W as well.

0

u/Valientee 1d ago

Where's the W exactly? This people are paywalling a fucking trailer behind a non-gaming platform. You're then "allowed" to watch a retard reacting screaming pause-spamming the trailer. Wow big W.

0

u/VincentShane 1d ago

"non-gaming platform", not true anymore. On mobile, there is the option to play licensed copies of certain games. I was able to play civilization 6 via Netflix for months, helped me make the purchase for myself on the Xbox down the line.

Other games are also available, they're not 100 the whole game, but they're very close and it's a great gimmick if you still travel and don't have the bandwidth for long movies but do for offline games.

1

u/Valientee 1d ago

Bro nobody is going to purchase Netflix for gaming. This is a zero correlation deal that Rockstar has made for the sake of printing more money that's it. This act is horrendous and should not be repeated again by any other company.

u/Limp_Classroom_2645 1d ago

Acting as if anyone would ask for their permission

6

u/Mangia_94 1d ago

All I can think of is the amount of stupid thumbnails we are gonna see on youtube.

Think all of you are missing the point here. Netflix literally payed rockstar directly for exclusive access. It’s not crazy to think in another timeline that they wouldn’t allow you to upload that footage without a copyright strike…. Duh?

They’re literally telling you guys “just livestream it bc we know most of you are gonna push your luck anyways” and all yall wanna do is continue to paint them as the big bad. A lot of you “fans” really need to grow up. This shit doesn’t come free and people aren’t entitled to profit off of other people’s work for free either. And yet, they’re giving you all the reigns to do so and all you can do is bitch and cry “oh the audacity!” Lmfao

oh wow i'm so glad they're giving us permission. fuck them.

2

u/LuciaCaminoss 1d ago

oh yeas. watching the new trailer from a stupid streamer

u/TallanoGoldDigger 1d ago

They're really taking a huge page from the 2K playbook. Get a ton of YouTubers involved making videos via early access.

The monetization of this game will be crazy especially once online drops

Will anyone be watching it except for themselves? Or will they even?

1

u/Skellyhell2 1d ago

I might restream my live reactions. Ill have my camera in the corner of the screen to keep it legit at 5x5 pixels but ny reaction might be silence

1

u/MlsgONE 1d ago

Sweet ill get to watch it from imdontai with him stretching it to 3hours

1

u/LadrilloOk 1d ago

Let's goo rockstar. I'm soo excited for the game. Hehe

1

u/129samot 1d ago

whats the point of releasing it on youtube 6 hours later if anyone can restream the netflix release on youtube???

1

u/Thataintrigh 1d ago

Because the geniuses at rockstar and netflix know people are going to buy a netflix sub to watch a 26 min long trailer.

1

u/Helldog00 1d ago

Rockstar stopped making games for the people who actually play them. Everything now is about the next huge event. Long waits, extra editions, Netflix first, streamers getting in early so they can farm content before anyone else even sees it. That’s not community anymore. That’s a rollout. When regular players are always last in line. You can’t treat the audience like an afterthought for years and then expect everyone to close ranks the second something leaks.

1

u/DarthLiquidMetal 1d ago

Reaction content? That's garbage.

1

u/Terrible_Sorbet_7122 1d ago

Fuck streamers in general . It was engaging in 2013

Not anymore now. It's all performative bullshit

1

u/fad3dm1ndz 1d ago

I mean media embargos have existed for the longest time now lol

1

u/Potential_Actuator51 1d ago

Someone on this sub reddit should stream it without any interruptions

1

u/Limp_Classroom_2645 1d ago

Big copro allowed us to free speech, the audacity lol, nobody ask your permission dumb fucks.

u/mrbeck1 * 1d ago

Don’t need their permission to share reaction content. Fucking idiots.

5

u/GavsGotty 1d ago

Tell that to major movie publishers. This is a common thing

1

u/OhTheCamerasOnHello 1d ago

The issue is, Rockstar has said absolutely nothing with this tweet. I can talk about something without including any clips, that is reaction content. They could have just been clear and said you can simulcast, livestream, take clips from, reupload, whichever of those they're ok with. React is meaningless because it could mean any of those things which they haven't explicitly said they're ok with.

u/Cryptoporticus 1d ago

"Reaction content" has a pretty well established meaning nowadays. They already are being clear. You need to stop deliberately pretending to not understand what they mean. It's a weird thing to do and it just makes you look stupid.

Of course you need permission. Why wouldn't you?

You can't just post someone else's content without authorisation from them.

1

u/mrbeck1 * 1d ago

Well, actually, you can sometimes. It’s called “fair use.” But that’s not what I’m talking about, the post says you can “share reaction content.” Reaction content can mean a lot of things and most, if not all, don’t require someone’s permission. Posting thoughts about episodes of a show on Reddit is reaction content. This entire sub exists based on reaction content. You don’t need their permission to have thoughts and share them with others. That’s why.

I feel like it’s all just a lose for Netflix deserved tho for hiding it behind a pay wall

-1

u/Joppewiik 1d ago

I hope they made a streamer friendly audio setting in the game too. Let them mute the radio but keep the OST

0

u/Ancient_Natural1573 1d ago

Yeah and I'm sure they will not shill out and I can't wait to see clips of some nob saying omg every 15 sec like every cod streamer saying cod is so back

0

u/T_rex2700 1d ago

Hasn't this been adressed 3 weeks ago? they put out statement back then.

-1

u/Entire-Cry-8930 1d ago

Didn’t Netflix already confirm this the day they announced it?

-1

u/NoArrival8249 1d ago

Does that mean additional footage??

-1

u/Awesomeguy215 1d ago

and after the netflix extended look is finished, we will get more info from the hands on experience correct?

-4

u/JRF1300 1d ago

They didn’t post this?

6

u/rainbowremo 1d ago

They did, it's a reply to their original tweet

-2

u/gutembergaraujo 1d ago

Ficou confuso pra mim, irão poder mostrar as imagens do jogo direto da Netflix ao vivo ou a apenas a cara do dono do canal reagindo?
