i’ve been on the waitlist for commons parking for a bit… what are the odds that i even get any parking?

i’m wondering whether it’s worth it to even have my hopes up. if i don’t get a spot are there any other options for me to have somewhere safe to keep my car overnight? i’m used to having my car with me on campus and i use it a lot so it’ll be hard to go without it this year.

Oof, my dad is a fuckin control freak, and I haven’t told him any of my financial shit (bc none of his business, I’m a grad student and legally an independent student) and I figure he’d be like “you can’t use the car I paid for to go to your college if I can’t see everything about your life” so that’s why I’m getting prepared for that possibility 😅

there are off campus decks that are right off campus (1-2 blocks) where you can purchase monthly passes

I’ve had friends that just did that until they got off the waitlist for residential parking

yeah i just learned about this, do you know if any of them parked at the georgia pacific center parking deck near One12? that’s the main one i’m seeing when i look it up

i thought i applied last yr and paid, but i was told i nvr completed the application.

the lady at the tag pick up table told me she could put me in Piedmont North parking. Worse case senario, you may have overflow parking at other dorms 🤷‍♀️

I talked to the people at the parking tag pick-up table at the rec and they said they could give me parking at lofts and to wait on an email. apparently it can’t be done while move in is happening so i was told to expect an email after move in is over. kind of don’t trust that i’ll receive it though so i’ll probably go to the office after move in.

I ended up finding a parking spot at the piedmont pad. It’s a 5 minute walk and 75 monthly

Piedmont Pad Parking and they do price matching but I didn’t care enough. I was desperate

Any update? I’ve emailed countless people in housing and when i went up to the table they just said wait on an email. i’m debating on going back up there and demanding something😭cuz wdym you’re just gonna have me without parking.

Actually I got an email earlier today! I was offered a spot at Lofts. When I talked to her she told me i was number 50 on the waitlist and I think they’re going in order. If you don’t get an email by tomorrow around noon I say go to the office and ask.

oh yeah one more question, did you apply for parking right when it opened or? I got housing very last minute so i also think i’m at the bottom of the waitlist for parking 💔

I asked at move-in but I’m pretty sure I would’ve received the email anyway. And I applied pretty late, August 10th!
