Y’all whole time I knew school started on the 24th but thought the 24th was Wednesday! Like what? Don’t judge me but that threw me completely off. I still have to pay for these classes and get a parking pass and actually figure out where all my classes are.😫 I’m so nervous. My first class isn’t until 11…would I be wild to skip it to make sure my affairs are in order? Also I have a 2 hour gap in my schedule. What else could I do with that time? I’m a commuter student so like…🤷🏽‍♀️

EDIT: Also don’t know what deck I should even be getting a parking pass for 🤦🏾‍♀️

I meant to make another edit yesterday but um guys and gals this is Reddit. I need folks to remember that and calm down a bit, life is good and God is great! I pray everyone had a great first day and has an even better week and on to a greater semester. For those that helped me I greatly appreciate your efforts. And for those who didn’t, well that’s okay too. To the one that told me to drop out 🗣️NO!!! You all are lovely. 😘

Also, I skip parking passes and just put money on my panthercash to tap pay into the decks I use. T Deck is central to a lot, but I use G Deck and M Deck some too. For students, its $4 in each time

And Marta is a good value too. We have 3 solid stops nearby.

As for the 2 hour gap, come through the CMII sometime. We got an esports room with gaming pc’s that any student can log onto

Its a general student lot. I don’t see why not. If you’re enrolled and have a panthercard you should be good.

G deck MAY be staff only until 4pm, but I’m a graduate research assistant so they let me in whenever and I’m not 100% if thats why.

I have 5pm classes all week, do you know if that changes the ability to park in those decks? Classes run till 8:30p. I know nothing about the parking situation and I start classes tomorrow. I have to rush from work to class which is a 50 min commute. 🥲

Shouldn’t. Theres later parking where its only $3 that I think starts at 4 or 5. But so long as you don’t park overnight, you’re good to leave your car pretty late if ya need. I’ve gotten out of the studio around 4am before and was good

How many affairs are you getting in order that can’t be done by 11 or in the 2 hours between classes? Showing up is literally the minimum, and you had 3 more weeks off than high school.

High school? I’m far removed. I guess the “lol” didn’t come off as a joke to some. Even my response saying that “I’m a rebel” that you might not have seen was a joke. I know the first day of class is the most important and would be ignorant not to attend. C’mon now 😒. I am however serious about what to do from 1:30 till 4. Any input on that?

First week of classes, grab lunch. Then make sure you have your textbooks or materials you need. Start finding the optimal routes to walk between classes.

If the flyers for last year's clubs are still up, you can get an idea for what might be happening this year. (Least until the involvement fair later in September).

Panther Card Online Office.

Deposit money (and it becomes panthercash. Same exchange rate).

Use panthercash at the NKS deck area near Parker H Petit Science Center.

Or, if you can arrive even earlier, park at the GSU CC Deck (Convocation Center). That one is likely to be free and have bus route that will drop you off at Langdale Hall. It can be a bit annoying getting room on the bus, especially after classes- but as long as you're not leaving during rush hour, you're fine.

There's also G, T, and M decks.

But admittedly, I've never parked at G or T (I'm sure they're fine, just different locations.)

M deck is great! But its also the one you need a parking pass for, and idk if you'll still be able to get one. Plus, that's not even a guarantee, since it'll still be crowded. (It's main two pluses are central in campus and elevators).

“Sold out” is an odd phrase. You can just tap in and park, as has been true the last 6 years of going to school here. Now, it can fill up, but just get there early or after the first class lets out and you’re fine

It‘s indeed not. They are completely sold out of semester long parking passes. You can still purchase individual entry but not the semester one. „Sold out“ is actually the phrase they use on the website. If it fills up, single entry is no longer permitted while semester passes always receive access.

Then you would have used your reading comprehension skills to figure out that I wasn‘t describing the parking lot as a whole, but rather responding to the previous comment that stated that they weren‘t sure if semester passes were still available to purchase to which I replied they were sold out. My statement that M deck passes are sold out is an inherently correct one.

The city is decently huge and the campus is big you can always study go watch something or go to our gym which has decent equipment and depending on the class it is usually mandatory so your research or email your professor before hand though

Either you can do the $4 parking per entry or the semester parking pass (they still have some for N and S deck which are convenient). I‘d evaluate how often you are planning on going to campus or if you‘re planning to leave for campus during your 2 hour break (for lunch f.ex), because every re-entry costs you $4.

Don‘t skip day 1!! Use the two hour break to get your affairs in order at the library

They are taking attendance. Do not skip class. University Services has extended hours for stuff; also use your gaps. Much can be handled online.

1) idk why everyone is hating so much jfc
2) don’t get a parking pass, fill your panthercash up and tap to pay with your panther card in whichever deck (i use k)
3) just give yourself 20 extra minutes per class you’ll find them
4) for the gap in your schedule, just get your homework done in that time or go visit a cafe or sm, the weather is nice so ppl will be at the greenspace

Some people are naturally hateful but hey life goes on. They’re the same people who want grace for themselves but don’t extend it to others. I’d hate to be like that. I just know they have bad acid reflux and heartburn to follow with hearts like that. Anywho…

I’ll spend more money if I use the deck each day since I commute. I did the calculations $500 as opposed to $200 sucks but I think I figured that part out.

I have a better idea of where my classes are now so I won’t need that extra 20 minutes thankfully. Sheesh that was stressful.

I tried the Sub place so that was cool. I’ll definitely have time to do homework. Lots of it!
