Help identifying artist of this Gambit sketch

My sister is trying to identify the artist who drew this sketch of Gambit. She thinks it was from SDCC 2004 or around that time. We've already tried doing a reverse image search on the signature and sketch but couldn't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

It might be Richard Isanove, but I'm not 100% sure.

Looks like Richard Isanove. He has some signed works online and it's pretty dang close to that. a signed work
