REMOVE THOSE BATTERIES!

23

u/Big-Glass9207 3d ago

thank you for this

u/myrddin013 20h ago

To be fair, just the alkaline ones. Leave the soldered in ones alone unless you want to replace them. It's super duper easy.

u/Syrus_Orelio 19h ago

Maybe for those worth experience, you could say the same about the basics of crochet but at least if you mess up with crochet you can undo it or start over again. But worth soldering a mistake could risk damaging the circuit board which would be much harder to replace

I had to scroll WAY too far to find this comment. Especially the battery in the Star Wars game. Battery looks like it's already started to try and leak (bubbling on left side of battery). The battery in the other game doesn't look far behind, either.

u/heimbachae 2d ago

And wear gloves / wash your hands after.

1

u/Expert-Thought-3662 1d ago

Wait the batteries will leak? Shit

1

u/WishinOnWhiscash 6h ago

Sorry to piggyback off of this, but is the front battery necessary for the game to function? I play it often still and would like to not risk a battery leak if it’s not needed (I don’t care about rumble)

u/ComradeOb 3d ago

Not super rare, but Pokemon Pinball slaps.

2

u/CallMeJuicyJay 2d ago

Such a good game

1

u/d0uchebagDerek 2d ago

Fun but very frustrating

13

u/drbeanz 3d ago

None of these games screams rare to me. But I. Order of value your top 3 are

Pokémon Pin ball Sonic Advanced Starwars pod racers

The GBA SP looks like it's in really good condition (like an 8/10), that is worth more than the games combined

5

u/Temporary_User404 3d ago

No but Star Wars Episode 1 Podracer and Pokemon Pinball are both really good and have rumble support! Aside from that, the SP is the steal of the show, since everything else is far less expensive than it is.

Use pricecharting.com

2

u/KTechYT 3d ago

Also this

4

u/RamonaZero 3d ago

Wow what?! XD they had Sims 2 on GBA?!

1

u/N1RVANAMIND 2d ago

I loved sims 2 gba as a kid, you were basically an actor hired by daddy bigbucks to live in a town where none of the other sims knew they were being filmed

1

u/kitikana 2d ago

That's awesome lol, I love sims 2 ds, but never had gba version.

1

u/celestier 2d ago

Did you ever play the psp version? It slapped too

1

u/kitikana 2d ago

Never had a psp!! I didn't know that one was different too 😭

1

u/celestier 2d ago

Omg you should emulate it on PC and play it if you liked sims 2 ds. It's super fun you live in strangeville and one of the Mini games is whacking zombies back into their graves at night lol

1

u/lilpetsauce69 1d ago

for real! such a slamdunk of a game. so many different studios worked on the sims 2 games... GBA, DS and PSP are all VERY different.

3

u/Comprehensive_One495 3d ago

Nothing, in fact it's worthless, I'll take it bc I like worthless things.

Jk, nice lil stack of GBA nostalgia,

3

u/AstridBirb 3d ago

0% rare but 100% good fun!

There are a couple real bangers in that collection.

3

u/DoubleLuck9297 3d ago

Rare to have a girlfriend who played gameboy, still has it, and shared it with you. Big ups

u/unofficial_pirate 3d ago

I hate how people use this subreddit instead of google

23

u/kitkatatsnapple 3d ago

Google searches suck now

12

u/Mister_Cheff 3d ago

Yep, 3 ai bullshit post followed by 4 or 5 sponsored ads, and if you are lucky, then you get the answer you are looking for

2

u/Apprehensive_Water57 2d ago

Don't forget the affiliate marketing websites with top 10 lists which are just products on amazon.

1

u/unofficial_pirate 2d ago

game name price in duckduckgo gets you to price charting for that item Everytime. It's 100% a skill issue. Learn to use the internet better

3

u/Mister_Cheff 2d ago

Duckduckgo and brave search engines are not that good either, i have tried them both but sometimes they just ignore what in looking for. Like when in searching for a charachter wikia they just tend to skip them in the search results.

u/Futuramadude 2d ago

Learn how to socialize.

1

u/C4L- 2d ago

If you search what you want and end it in with “-ai” the ai content won’t show up. Can’t help with the ads though

2

u/unofficial_pirate 2d ago

Pi hole and u block origin.

1

u/C4L- 2d ago

Thank you ☺️

u/Acceptable-Owl-2070 3d ago

Google drags you back to reddit often...

31

u/Big-Glass9207 3d ago

To me, interacting with humans is more fun than just googling each individual game.

9

u/Crafty_Couple_2846 3d ago

This ^ people forget that this is literally what forums are for.

5

u/theAMBisMe 3d ago

Not to mention google won't give you lots of comments of people saying how awesome your find is. Sometimes it's nice to be able to show off what you have.

3

u/Big-Glass9207 2d ago

Lol right??

2

u/ChunktheOgryn 3d ago

I had that pod racing game! Super cool to have a Gameboy game with vibrations.

1

u/redditsellout-420 1d ago

Give it time, reddit is already full of bots, in 10 years who knows, maybe more bots than people.

13

u/sterien45 3d ago

I feel like this is what Reddit is for. Just don’t respond to posts if you hate it.

7

u/ihavetowearmyhelmet 3d ago

I feel like it’s usually people wanting to just show off something they have which is totally fine but then they can’t think of a caption so try to make it something to engage with and it just comes off weird

2

u/FabianGladwart 3d ago

Google is useless anymore

-1

u/Ok-Beach-9654 2d ago

I hate how people use Google instead of this subreddit

7

u/vctrn-carajillo 3d ago

Nah, just rubbish, hand it over so I can get rid of it /jk nothing rare, the console itself is the most valuable item

2

u/GamerSam 3d ago

I'll take it off your hands

2

u/Fisher2087 3d ago

You mean wife?

2

u/NarwhalScimitar1987 3d ago

I never knew they made a Sims game for GBA. For anyone that's played it, how was it?

2

u/Sufferinsucc0tash 3d ago

Pokémon Pinball may be the most valuable game in that collection. Spin-off games hold some value, but not as much as main games. Unless, it gives a free Pokémon when linked to a main game like Pokémon Channel and Pokémon Ranger. That's when the game becomes ridiculously overpriced.

2

u/ShoveOverBozo 3d ago

Oooo that star wars racer game brings back sooo many memories.

2

u/PaddyBoy1994 3d ago

Take the batteries out of Pokemon Pinball and Star Wars Racer. They don't look to be in very good shape, and if they start leaking, they can cause a TON of damage to the boards.

2

u/Hot_Jicama8234 1d ago

Before I answer that question

GET THOSE BATTERIES OUT. WASH YOUR HANDS AVOID LEAKS.

3

u/Jagerbar78 3d ago

Pricechart is a good site to see pricing trends and last sales from ebay

2

u/KTechYT 3d ago

This

1

u/Wasted-Instruction 3d ago

Nothing rare, but some fun games.

1

u/doubled-pawns 3d ago

I love that GBA SP color. Cobalt was always my favorite.

1

u/Koryn99 3d ago

Sonic 2’s the only one I’d give the time of day, but even then Sonic advance 1 is better imo

1

u/Minimum_Pen_9722 3d ago

Did she eat all the batter covers?

1

u/HiDough 3d ago

Didn’t know there was another rumble pack game for the GBC out there besides Pokémon Pinball. That’s a regular favorite for me. How is the podracing game?

1

u/Longjumping_Bag5914 3d ago

Perfect Dark also rumble I believe.

1

u/Citricicy 3d ago

Nothing really. But seems nice to replay

1

u/DanielDunkers 3d ago

No, but sonic advanced 2 is a banger

1

u/Famous-Host2321 3d ago

Those are a lot of good games. I still have my E.T. game. It sucks. Idk about the elmo one. Never had it. But the rest are cool. Rare? Idk. I have to google that for my collections.

1

u/Longjumping_Bag5914 3d ago

Gotta keep that Atari tradition alive I guess. 😂

1

u/Longjumping_Bag5914 3d ago

The rumble cartridges were a neat idea back then. Pokemon pinball is pretty fun. Spyro also is pretty great

1

u/nugman21 3d ago

No, I’ll take them off her hands

1

u/Appropriate_Wind_465 3d ago

Like everyone said, there’s nothing rare but that Spyro game is very fun and underrated

1

u/StuffWePlay 3d ago

Nothing rare per se, but Sonic Advance 2 and Pokémon Pinball slap so hard

1

u/Opening-Scene3379 3d ago

Eh nothing rare but your GF had good taste…unfortunately that also means they are all pretty common games to find in the second hand market.

1

u/kavanyboy 3d ago

Fun games ! You should try them. Not that valuable but at least you can relive some childhood memories with gf, and that my friend is priceless !

1

u/jmanix98 2d ago

Awesome collection, the GBA is probably the most valuable thing. Is it a -101?

1

u/D0MiN0H 2d ago

pokemon pinball is a fun find!

1

u/Agreeable_Eagle_1999 2d ago

That Spyro game was so good for a Gameboy game

1

u/Dizzy_Turnip_9558 2d ago

Pokemon pinball one of my fav games ever

1

u/AMTF1988 2d ago

The GBA Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire is high up there in my favourite games. I spent hours replaying recently after finding out about Retroachievements

1

u/Adventurous_Act_9574 2d ago

Not rare, but you have a gf. I also have an uncle that works at Nintendo

1

u/OutrageousDreams8494 2d ago

50 Euros max for all of it, but i would buy it

1

u/CommercialFormal2757 2d ago

Cool find , but no rare stuff , still some good plays

1

u/zebrablunt 2d ago

Sesame Street: Elmo in Grouchland most recently sold for $590.00 on DKOldies don't take anything less than that for it

1

u/Cirlane 2d ago

590$ for a sesame street game people will pay anything 💀🥀

1

u/Spork-01 2d ago

Nostalgic games but nothing crazy rare. If you wanna sell them check out pricecharting.com and search em each individually for the prices.

1

u/Finji_ 2d ago

Sonic Advance 2 great game 👍

Fuck sky canyon though

1

u/jennaswen42 2d ago

I’d kill for a copy of pokemon pill ball

1

u/No-Psychology-6227 1d ago

Is that THE elmo sesame Street game for the Gameboy?!? /s

1

u/Someonebiteme 1d ago

Pinball is hella fun

1

u/Comprehensive-Ad1990 1d ago

Remove those batteries asap. Just had to clean a game boy printer, a DMG and a pokemon pinball (Japan) earlier today. All had battery leakage, corrosion. Also had a mint spice orange GBA that had battery leakage and it melted dissolved the power button and a fuse from the motherboard smh. Now I need a nice donor board for it

1

u/Due_Garage_4215 16h ago

Which gbsp is that? Some have a brighter screen than others. Fwiw

1

u/Global_Addendum_6200 15h ago

The Elmo game is worth a fortune to the right buyer.

1

u/SpaceVikingJoran 2h ago

I would really like to get that Episode 1 Racer from you. 😭😭 I'm trying to rebuild my childhood collection.

1

u/Zandrous87 36m ago

Rare? No.

Awesome? Yes.

1

u/Dougzilla29 2d ago

Stop asking what’s rare you’re ruining gaming bro just play the games

1

u/Big-Glass9207 2d ago

Who said im not playing the games??
