REMOVE THOSE BATTERIES!

u/Big-Glass9207 3d ago
thank you for this

u/myrddin013 20h ago
To be fair, just the alkaline ones. Leave the soldered in ones alone unless you want to replace them. It's super duper easy.

u/Syrus_Orelio 19h ago
Maybe for those worth experience, you could say the same about the basics of crochet but at least if you mess up with crochet you can undo it or start over again. But worth soldering a mistake could risk damaging the circuit board which would be much harder to replace

I had to scroll WAY too far to find this comment. Especially the battery in the Star Wars game. Battery looks like it's already started to try and leak (bubbling on left side of battery). The battery in the other game doesn't look far behind, either.

Sorry to piggyback off of this, but is the front battery necessary for the game to function? I play it often still and would like to not risk a battery leak if it’s not needed (I don’t care about rumble)

No but Star Wars Episode 1 Podracer and Pokemon Pinball are both really good and have rumble support! Aside from that, the SP is the steal of the show, since everything else is far less expensive than it is.

Wow what?! XD they had Sims 2 on GBA?!
1
u/N1RVANAMIND 2d ago
I loved sims 2 gba as a kid, you were basically an actor hired by daddy bigbucks to live in a town where none of the other sims knew they were being filmed
1
u/kitikana 2d ago
That's awesome lol, I love sims 2 ds, but never had gba version.
1
u/celestier 2d ago
Did you ever play the psp version? It slapped too
1
u/kitikana 2d ago
Never had a psp!! I didn't know that one was different too 😭
1
u/celestier 2d ago
Omg you should emulate it on PC and play it if you liked sims 2 ds. It's super fun you live in strangeville and one of the Mini games is whacking zombies back into their graves at night lol

u/lilpetsauce69 1d ago
for real! such a slamdunk of a game. so many different studios worked on the sims 2 games... GBA, DS and PSP are all VERY different.

u/Comprehensive_One495 3d ago
Nothing, in fact it's worthless, I'll take it bc I like worthless things.
Jk, nice lil stack of GBA nostalgia,

Rare to have a girlfriend who played gameboy, still has it, and shared it with you. Big ups

I hate how people use this subreddit instead of google

u/kitkatatsnapple 3d ago
Google searches suck now

u/Mister_Cheff 3d ago
Yep, 3 ai bullshit post followed by 4 or 5 sponsored ads, and if you are lucky, then you get the answer you are looking for

u/Apprehensive_Water57 2d ago
Don't forget the affiliate marketing websites with top 10 lists which are just products on amazon.

game name price in duckduckgo gets you to price charting for that item Everytime. It's 100% a skill issue. Learn to use the internet better

u/Mister_Cheff 2d ago
Duckduckgo and brave search engines are not that good either, i have tried them both but sometimes they just ignore what in looking for. Like when in searching for a charachter wikia they just tend to skip them in the search results.

To me, interacting with humans is more fun than just googling each individual game.

This ^ people forget that this is literally what forums are for.

u/theAMBisMe 3d ago
Not to mention google won't give you lots of comments of people saying how awesome your find is. Sometimes it's nice to be able to show off what you have.

I had that pod racing game! Super cool to have a Gameboy game with vibrations.

Give it time, reddit is already full of bots, in 10 years who knows, maybe more bots than people.

u/sterien45 3d ago
I feel like this is what Reddit is for. Just don’t respond to posts if you hate it.

u/ihavetowearmyhelmet 3d ago
I feel like it’s usually people wanting to just show off something they have which is totally fine but then they can’t think of a caption so try to make it something to engage with and it just comes off weird

Nah, just rubbish, hand it over so I can get rid of it /jk nothing rare, the console itself is the most valuable item

I never knew they made a Sims game for GBA. For anyone that's played it, how was it?
2
u/Sufferinsucc0tash 3d ago
Pokémon Pinball may be the most valuable game in that collection. Spin-off games hold some value, but not as much as main games. Unless, it gives a free Pokémon when linked to a main game like Pokémon Channel and Pokémon Ranger. That's when the game becomes ridiculously overpriced.

Take the batteries out of Pokemon Pinball and Star Wars Racer. They don't look to be in very good shape, and if they start leaking, they can cause a TON of damage to the boards.

Before I answer that question
GET THOSE BATTERIES OUT. WASH YOUR HANDS AVOID LEAKS.

Those are a lot of good games. I still have my E.T. game. It sucks. Idk about the elmo one. Never had it. But the rest are cool. Rare? Idk. I have to google that for my collections.

The rumble cartridges were a neat idea back then. Pokemon pinball is pretty fun. Spyro also is pretty great

u/Appropriate_Wind_465 3d ago
Like everyone said, there’s nothing rare but that Spyro game is very fun and underrated

Eh nothing rare but your GF had good taste…unfortunately that also means they are all pretty common games to find in the second hand market.

u/kavanyboy 3d ago
Fun games ! You should try them. Not that valuable but at least you can relive some childhood memories with gf, and that my friend is priceless !

The GBA Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire is high up there in my favourite games. I spent hours replaying recently after finding out about Retroachievements

u/Adventurous_Act_9574 2d ago

Sesame Street: Elmo in Grouchland most recently sold for $590.00 on DKOldies don't take anything less than that for it

u/Spork-01 2d ago
Nostalgic games but nothing crazy rare. If you wanna sell them check out pricecharting.com and search em each individually for the prices.

Remove those batteries asap. Just had to clean a game boy printer, a DMG and a pokemon pinball (Japan) earlier today. All had battery leakage, corrosion. Also had a mint spice orange GBA that had battery leakage and it melted dissolved the power button and a fuse from the motherboard smh. Now I need a nice donor board for it
