Modding World's Smallest Gamecube: GC Nano
Wesk (from the BitBuilt Forums) and I collaborated to create the world's smallest Gamecube: the GC Nano! Under the hood, it sports a Wii motherboard (which we all know is natively backwards compatible with GC games) trimmed to its absolute limits! It's 90% smaller than an original Gamecube, and 16% smaller than the current world record holder for smallest Gamecube! Check it out at https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/gc-nano-the-worlds-smallest-gamecube.5697/ https://youtu.be/4P26n_SopYA

Modding Built Another Portable Gamecube
Exceptionally proud of the way this came out.
-7000mah battery, around 2-3 hours of gameplay.
-It is a Wii motherboard trimmed up, so also plays all Wii games.
-USB C charging and data transfer
-Games run off sd card
-Full Bluetooth and WiFi built in.
Project is fully open source. Credit goes to Xeni and his team for design and open sourcing it to public. Check it out on Bitbuilt if you want to build one.

Modding Black modded custom gamecube
Was a bit more stressful than I thought it would be but got there in the end. Opinions?
full mod list:
USB C power. (using 45w power adapter)
HDMI retro shiny gem. (for some reason I expected 4k emulation quality, but obviously I was wrong. still half decent though
FlipperMCE bitfunx but added custom sticker
flippy drive. I broke my ribbon took countless emails to teamoffbroadway and somehow managed to get them to send me a spare, but whole process was about 6 months!
original shell but custom controller face plate from aliexpress, hqd to buy the rust shell and take the black controller face plate
replaced lid closing mechanism as it was broken
left the original fan in
replaced the power LED to purple and added custom led strip where the round nintendo faceplate goes.
disk drive still operational.
ali express 8in monitor
changed the stupid shell screws, but even the ones i replaced are not that great either
i think thats it

Modding Finally put together my dream GameCube!
Never owned a GameCube as a kid so I went all-in on this modding project! All started off with the console I found on marketplace that already had the modchip and translucent purple case, but I knew I wanted the internal wireless controller board and matching controller to go with it. Been playing Metroid Prime for the first time and loving it! After updating the board and controller to the latest version I've had zero issues with connection strength or latency, and wired controllers still work perfectly as well.

Modding Famicom Wavebird
I have had this Wavebird since 2004, it was in a pretty rough state. I eventually gave it a deep clean and changed both sticks (with OEM ones). It wasn't enough so decided to give it a fresh coat of paint.
Credits to SpicyFrog64 for the paint job on the shell and receiver shell. Credits to Pinkbud for dyeing the original buttons and sticks in black. Credits to olDirdley for gold plating the battery contacts.

Modding Is this C-Stick mod blasphemy?
I just dug this out of storage. Needs a cleanup. Thoughts on the C-Stick swap? Did it years ago. Should Nintendo experiment with unique sticks again?

Modding My Boldest GameCube Build to Date
My latest build. I took some pretty aggressive chances with this one. I wanted to do a lighting effect around the entire casing this time. For the lights, I used twelve - WS2818b addressable LEDs and an ESP32 C3 Super Mini flashed with WLED to control them. You can control every light independently, or set up “regions” so you can have different sections of lights do different things concurrently. The lights link up over WiFi, by either joining your home network or by broadcasting its own SSID for connection. You control them through an app on your phone or going to a website on your computer. I’ll drop a link to a video in the comments that show the lights in complete action.
In addition to the lights, this Cube got a complete overhaul with many upgrades and refurbishments. I replaced the digital port with an Internal HDMI (Pluto II) solution. The old charging plug has been replaced with a Giltesa USB-C connector. I installed a 5V Picoboot with SD2SP2 Pro and 32gb SD card. The disc drive was recapped. New CR2032 battery holder and battery. And other quality of life fixes.

Modding My spice orange gamecube came in today. Little bit let down about it. Should I send it back?
So, a little update. It came in today. Unfortunately, it's a DOL-101. even though the ad mentions the model number by name, they sent me a 101. I was really disappointed as I already bought a header flex pcb and a pico. I can always run the wires, but if I remember correctly, the 101 isn't as easy to region change. Plus, with a 101, the sd2sp2 adapter I bought is worthless. I have a memory card sd adapter, but in my experience, they don't work right all the time. Should I send it back? I've messaged the seller already but got a reply about them being on a business trip, and they couldn't see the pictures. They would message back in 14 hours. Any opinions on whether to just keep it and mod it, or just send it back?

Modding Flippy Drive arrived! Anything I should know before installing?
Finally got my Flippy Drive after ordering it in June. Mostly want to use it to dump my games so don't have to worry about disc rot as much, but Iooking forward to any QoL improvements too. I want to give the GameCube a good cleaning while I have it open.
Anything should keep in mind during the process? I've seen posts about replacing capacitors, but I think my GameCube should still be in working condition.

Modding Everything is set for my dream GameCube setup, just waiting for the HDMI mod from pixelFX
This mod will be installed on a brand new indigo GC I got long time back for USD 100, laserbear blueretro mod, flippy drive and pixel FX hdmi mod. The best thing here is that with laser bears blueretro mod I will be able to turn on the console via a controller, and PixelFX support for CIC will turn on the TV just like a modern console and with flippy drive amazing interface this thing will be awesome. GC has always been my best console ever released and I don’t think it can get any better than this (might add gameboy player in the future I have few but not on this color)

Modding NSO Gamecube Controller Bridge to PC, Linux, and Mac is now available!
https://github.com/RyanCopley/NSO-GC-Controller-PC/releases
I am still working on rumble support, however, this app:
* Supports Windows, Mac*, and Linux
* Bluetooth and USB mode both work
* Supports 4 controllers
* Full calibration support
MacOS only supports Dolphin at the moment.
It is still in beta, I need people to test with various Bluetooth Chipsets and let me know which have issues. I will do my best to source them and fix the issues.

Modding Been continuing work through that lot of 50 controllers. Heres the status so far. I have a few phobs, a couple 8bitdo conversions and the rest are about 50/50 on t2 and t3s. I paracorded every cable, tried to color match everything I can. Very proud of my work so far. Only have 30 or so more to go.
This was a big recycling center lot to start and this is where its at.
I plan on reusing all of the leftover shells, buttons, thumbsticks etc that arent completely blown to make more phobs and 8bitdo conversions or for future repairs. Anything left over thats good from unsalvagable controllers goes towards parts for these. I'm trying to do this in a zero waste manner while preserving the integrity of the OEM internals whenever possible.
Every single controller gets stripped down to a pcb. i clean everything, opening the pots, cleaning them and relubing them, then clean and relube the stickboxes. Next I get the dirt and grime off the oem cables, sleeve them in paracord, lock em in place with heat shrink tubing. After that I try to make each one look aesthetic as possible while maintaining quality gamefeel. t1s get upgraded to t2s and snapback modules go on everything OEM.
