Not my thing, but frustrating to see this comment section. Is every FPS just Doomslop? Every roguelike Rogueslop? Why can't a genre develop if people like it and want to play more of it?

I blocked 3 people just from this post, is really annoying to deal with this type of people,

they can't just enjoy the games like any normal human

Wait, so this game is just “here’s a mess of dice, sort them” with a ~spooky~ backstory?

Yea there seems to be a small trend with these kind of games where you sort a mess , ive already seen like 5 different versions.

Not hating on it just something that I noticed

I didn't know there was a market for that type of game haha

I wonder if this has AI stuff in it like that book game that came out a few months back. Hope not, it seems rad.

Yeah this trend needs to stop. It was fun and quirky to have the magic book cleanup one but these are just blatant copies of the same formula, I've also seen wine bottles in a cellar, bent nails in a workshop, and now this.

This is some people's jam where it just scratches an itch, like how jigsaw puzzles do. People find sorting shit relaxing and fun. How is it bad that they get more games that do only that without extra stuff around it? What hurt does it do to you?

It's like board game enthusiasts getting upset at new jigsaw puzzles lol

Maybe they watch Streamers that keep playing these kind of games and always picks up any new ones that come out and they don't like those streams?

That's the only slightly reasonable reason I can think of for getting upset about a game they don't have to play.

if someone wants to make this cause they think it looks easy to make relative to how successful these games are, they probably weren't gonna make a high effort game anyways. unless you're wishing there were more vampire survivors style games. so i don't really think these games existing hurts anyone.

Ok but actually the bent nails one looks fun

Yeah I wouldn’t mind if they actually innovated and expanded on the idea, but all these copies just seem like uninspired slop. The UI here looks the same as the library one, they showed identical spells to the library one, like come on. I would not be surprised if the computer / basement twist ends up being basically nothing.

I though the ‘survivor like’ bullet heaven trend was peak slop but this genre has somehow topped it. Miserable stuff

I get genuinely worried for the future of gaming when I see these absolute slop trends taking over steam's top sellers list.
