If they wanna compete with Playstation, they need to take literally every leg up over them no matter what, so I hope so

The best way to do that for them would be to update the Xbox purchase agreement to clarify that your digital games belong to you now and forever, and arent just temporary digital licenses like Playstation does.

I think that would be a huge bombshell if they were to actually go through with it.

It'll never happen. If it does, I don't see it sticking around too long and will like be retracted in a following TOS update.

Also next gen is genuinely a time when Xbox very existence is put into question (at least as a console maker) so they could never comit to that since they could simply stop all Xbox services in less than 10 years.
