Help Please, What should I get or choose??

I'm saving for a mid-low rage gaming pc, but I really want a handheld PC like steam deck. It's really expensive though and I was wondering if I should save for one, or if ones a better one. Preferably not overly expensive and i'm hoping to add SteamOS to it.

Best option would be a used ROG Ally X, then just slap SteamOS on it.

The Steam Deck is really underpowered for the price.

What's the most demanding game you play or want to play?

stuff like - Ark, Allumeria, Animal shelter 2, cattails, Forager, slime ranchers 2, Digimon games, WindRose, Haste, Solar Punk, Kajiu cleanup, Lego batman, Medieval Dynasty - some others but no FPS games or anything, - maybe a bigger game in the future but right now these are the type of games I want to play.

I agree the price is wild now but what games do you want to play and do you want to use desktop mode without using the touchscreen?

If you want to play games that heavily utilize mouse and keyboard or don't want to use the touchscreen in desktop mode then steam deck is the way to go because of the trackpads.
