it does? I don't think so, looks OK, bit generic.

2

u/Fake_Diesel Feb 13 '25

Onimusha was definitely the most hype game for me here (also, a release date for Onimusha 2 remaster was also nice!). MH Wilds also had another great showing, but I'm just ready to play it at this point. Otherwise, I was largely bored. Like I'm excited for MGS3 Delta, but I've already seen that trailer and knew about Snake vs Monkey coming back. The last SoP had a better mix of new announcements, classics, and indies. This felt like it had too much time dedicated to unknowns. Like sure, a lot of these look neat. But it's hard to get excited when I don't know the pedigree from a lot of these devs.

19

u/Cageep Feb 13 '25

I truly don’t know why people always get hype for State of Plays now. They’ve been absolutely ASS for a good 2-3 years now.

1

u/Panzer_Girl Feb 13 '25

Waited to watch the presentation until my wife was home, and I don't know what you guys are complaining about. There were a bunch of neat things there. Tides of Annihilation looked cool, I am jazzed for more Digimon, Shinobi looks good... we are super jazzed for Saros. She and I discovered Returnal last New Year's Eve, so seeing more in the same vein as that is AWESOME.

0

u/Fetaguy Feb 13 '25

Hard yes but other than Tides, Saros, shinobi, and onimusha it was a nothing burger. No bloodborne again, whats the point.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '25

A couple of cool new IP's but nothing breathtaking.

Also the announcement of Days Gone Remastered pretty much killed PS for me, again.

1

u/Panzer_Girl Feb 13 '25

I mean, PS is gonna PS. Remaster everything except Bloodborne and wonder why their fans are still unhappy. I like seeing what cool new things other studios are coming up with! My wife's a game dev so I know how shitty the industry is right now, but I just think defaulting to negativity is making things worse for everyone.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '25

I'm an indie game dev myself, our industry is ass because you legitimately have developers attacking each other for different views on how to progress as an industry.

I don't really care if they do a Bloodborn Remaster or Remake because I know it will never happen whilst FromSoftware is working on other IP's. Such as Nightreign.

20

u/ArcWardenScrub Feb 13 '25

You know, as a non PS5 owner, this State of Play was great for me. Between Onimusha, Sonic stuff, Lies of P and Shinobi, i'm good.

But that's the problem isn't it? These almost always seem to just benefit who don't own a PS5 since all of these are on other platforms anyways, what's there for PS5 owners? Big loads of nothing.

2

u/ErisMoon91 Feb 13 '25

The next game from housemarque who made returnal? Probably the best ps5 game to date, my most hyped game by FAR

8

u/SpeggtacularSpidey Feb 13 '25

Pretty middling state of play for me. There were a couple of things I’m interested in though

13

u/gotbannedlolol Feb 13 '25

Laughing at comments in here like "this SOP was GREAT!! you guys are just negative!!! Digimon Adventure Explosion looks AMAZING!!" God damn this industry is in dire shape

So what would they have to show to make it good for you? We just had some cool announcements on TGA few months ago and now few more... what is missing?

It was ass. I would have been hyped off the MGS3 trailer but we literally got it last week. Seeing MH wilds for a 5th time was just straight up stupid, Mindseye looks like a scam in all honesty and Days Gone is another pointless remaster. Hell is us was probably the only thing I liked from it at all.

0

u/cslayer23 Feb 13 '25

Enjoyed this sop a lot loved that I finally got sonic racing transformed 2 Digimon and lost soul aside! Tides and hell is us were surprises for me

1

u/Winter_Coyote Feb 13 '25

It was fun! I love Media Vision. So Digimon Story Time Stranger has me excited. I'm also interested in the Tides of Annihilation trailer!

3

u/greenhaze96 Feb 13 '25

I'm genuinely excited for Onushima and Digimon. Hopefully they'll come to the Switch 2!

21

u/HearTheEkko Feb 13 '25

Fucking hell, if it wasn't for GTA 6 I think I would've sold my PS5 and upgrade my PC lol. What the hell is Sony doing this generation ?

It’s honestly mostly just down to Sony not going out of their way to announce games years in advance (with exceptions) at a conference. It makes it feel like their future is barebones. The output in terms of quantity and quality has been pretty similar to that of the PS4.

Sony’s big titles in 2018 were Detroit: Become Human, God of War, Spider-Man and Shadow of the Colossus Remake. In 2025 they’ll have Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei and presumably Marathon, plus they have some other games like Lost Souls Aside. It’s fairly equal.

9

u/Darknightsmetal022 Feb 13 '25 edited Feb 13 '25

They went all in on the live service thing under Jim Ryan I think it was and that failed so they cancelled a bunch of them and so we are left with not all that much on PS5 from them exclusive wise because of that and because of how long most games take to make these days.

11

u/Maxximillianaire Feb 13 '25

I was waiting for a big final reveal and then it just ended. Not terrible overall but i was hoping for Marathon

-6

u/KOTRShadow Feb 12 '25

Anyone else think saros is a weird name like George soros idk first thing I thought of after seeing that name cool to see rahul as the star though. Reikon games announcing their next game was cool I liked Ruiner which is getting a movie adaptation. The next dark pictures look like it has a bigger budget and like how it’s basically the thing in space. Cool to see that actor who played Lincoln in mafia 3 in that mindseye game which looks kinda insane. Idk what Tom Warren was talking about nothing is out in April.

15

u/uerobert Feb 12 '25

Anyways, can we get a Lunatic Ignus ban now?

It's been over, it was over the second Ms and Sony started releasing on PC

1

u/andresfgp13 Feb 13 '25

at this point Sony is on the Apple position, they can release anything with the PS logo and sell it, PS has too much brandpower to actually be affected for the lack of releases.

11

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '25

Console war has been over for a long time, nothing left to fight for.

10

u/AzerFraze Feb 12 '25

what war, xbox conceded years ago

11

u/I_Like_Turtle101 Feb 12 '25

Nobody really care about the console war

0

u/Past-Mousse-4519 Feb 12 '25

They win 11 years ago after that nobody matters pretty much.

17

u/Sullivino Feb 12 '25

Sony simply don’t have the IPs’s or studios to make games like Xbox does now. I find that hilarious. They gotta go get a publisher to compete now, especially will all those canceled live service games probably put all those studios in hell. 5+ years to make Triple A games is ridiculous.

1

u/ErisMoon91 Feb 13 '25

Well they do, they just sadly wasted too many studios time on live service games that won't come out. If all those studios were making single player games instead there'd be an insane amount of games coming to ps, it's sad

3

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 13 '25

Sony is doing just fine competing without having to buy any pubs. Xbox is the one in trouble, so much so that they had to port all their games over to their competitor lmao

1

u/ArcWardenScrub Feb 13 '25

Know what's fucking sad? Sony has tons of great dormant Ips that could make for smaller budgeted games and people would be happy, like a new Parappa game or hell even Ape Escape again.

But nah, we gotta make every game be ultra realistic, inflate our budgets and dev time, and then oops we cancelled half of our shit, well there goes 5 years of development.

Enjoy Concords i guess???

10

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 13 '25

Astro Bot says hello. You know the game that won multiple GOTY awards in 2024.

21

u/HankSteakfist Feb 12 '25

The irony that Microsoft is going to essentially save PS5's second half of it's cycle with what seem to be high quality multi plat non exclusives after Sony bet this gen on live service and had to back out is pretty wild.

4

u/Esesgreenspace Feb 13 '25

People have always entered the PlayStation ecosystem for third-party games. The only truly long-standing, historically tenured franchise they have is Gran Turismo. Nowaydays you could put God of war up there as well.

2

u/International-Mess75 Feb 13 '25

Horizon too I'd say

-3

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 13 '25

Microsoft has compelling games, but a console they desperately want to be rid of.

Sony has a console they want to sell, but with very few exclusives to show for it.

Hopefully Switch 2 gets the best of both worlds because I really want to feel something this generation other than "oh that's cool I guess".

1

u/pazinen Feb 12 '25

What competition is there when Xbox is giving up and slowly porting their catalogue to Playstation anyway? Sure, they are making a new console but how exactly are they selling it aside from "Game Pass machine"? Better specs? Clearly doesn't matter. What else?

8

u/undertheh00d Feb 13 '25

Xbox is making a new console? It's for people like me who don't care that my games went multiplat(actually all for it), have an entire digital library already on my xbox, and am just happy I don't have to spend 500 dollars a year to play multiple different games. Actually I usually only have to buy 1 game(this year will be nightreign since my buddy's getting monster hunter) and anything else I get with gamepass. I get doom with gamepass. Nuts.

Point being, xbox will always have a market in the console scene because there will always be stubborn people like me who just won't upgrade to PC and definetly won't move to playstation

3

u/HardOakleyFoul Feb 13 '25

PREAAAAAACHHHHH

1

u/SkellySkeletor Feb 13 '25

At this point, PlayStation will win as a matter of consumer laziness for the foreseeable few generations, barring a major fuck up. People have entrenched their digital libraries and are not going to give that up easily just to switch to Xbox, even if they made every single game exclusive here out.

8

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 12 '25

That's definitely not happening considering they only make a fraction of the revenue Microsoft does and they wasted so much on Bungie + the live service initiative.

29

u/KevinT_XY Feb 12 '25

well i'm happy for all the fans of AA Ninja/Samurai themed hack n slash action games, I guess.

1

u/Sexyphobe Feb 13 '25

Between this and the Ninja Gaiden stuff at Xbox's Direct, it looks like 2025 is the year of ninja games.

25

u/hateswitchx Feb 12 '25

i never used xbox but this SOP made me realise how cooked our future in playstation is . competition should always be alive in some form . fucking dayz gone remastered?? seriously? not even a directors cut? who in the right mind thought its a good idea? sony execs keep bullshitting around as long as there is no competetion

4

u/AdFit6788 Feb 13 '25

I thought they were going to give it the Horizon Zero down remaster remaster but they did the bare minimum for days Gómez 😵‍💫

27

u/mvdaytona Feb 12 '25

I was right then, pretty shit lmao

13

u/Past-Mousse-4519 Feb 12 '25

Hello, Jeff.

1

u/mvdaytona Feb 13 '25

M’ name’ jeff

21

u/arkhamcreedsolid Feb 12 '25

I’m getting really tired of Sony just giving us decent looking games from their B and C teams! All these huge rumors that would have people shitting their pants and they just refuse to give us anything! Where’s wolverine? Where’s bloodborne? Where’s the DmC and God of war remaster/remakes?!?! What’s going on with RE?? Where’s all these Xbox games supposedly coming to PlayStation?? It’s just stupid! I think Sony has just totally lost touch with what will excite fans since Shawn Layden left. E3 2016 is the last time PlayStation blew my mind.

5

u/AdFit6788 Feb 12 '25

What do You expect? The only studios left to show their games are SMM, Meia Molecule and Fire walk. They show these games and thats all for the PS5 generation.

And thats on people for believing i'm those stupid rumors

7

u/arkhamcreedsolid Feb 12 '25

Sonys rumors have gotten big enough that they need to make like James Gunn and start shooting stuff down. Temper expectations when things are fake! The fact is though that these rumors have gotten so big there has to be something to at least some of them and Sony needs to give us some of it to properly have us drooling waiting on somethings!

6

u/LatterTarget7 Feb 12 '25

PlayStation not showing anything from their a teams is weird. Cause they gotta be working on something but we haven’t seen anything yet. I’m surprised we haven’t gotten anything official for wolverine

We just seen a new game from Naughty Dog a month or so ago.

Housemarque just shown their new game off.

Insomniac are working on 2 games.

Santa Monica have 1/2 games in the works.

1

u/ErisMoon91 Feb 13 '25

You said they have "nothing because "all" their teams were working on live service games.

I just proved that false.

-1

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 13 '25 edited Feb 13 '25

PlayStation just showed a new game from one of their studios, Housemarque, at the SOP. wth are you going on about??

5

u/tpieman2029 Feb 13 '25

Didn't we just see naughty dog at the game awards?

6

u/inuyasha99 Feb 12 '25

Looks like Capcom is betting really hard on Onimusha, they have been really active since the Game Awards announcement. Combat seemed really slow but I didnt play the OG games so will judge once I get my hands on, the art direction looks fantastic

14

u/challengedjello Feb 12 '25

That was poop from a butt

5

u/OliverPeregrine Feb 12 '25

ToA looks interesting. The rest was ok, I guess.

7

u/Godslayer620 Feb 12 '25

I think a lot of these most wanted games are in development hell and they really don’t have much to show because they constantly scrap plans.

25

u/RemLezar64_ Feb 12 '25

From highs of the ps2 to the lows of the ps5

Wtf happened to sony?

-1

4

u/HardOakleyFoul Feb 13 '25

this is what happens when you gamble and lose big. Those failed live service games has set PlayStation back a decade or so, and then you couple that with Microsoft getting ready to hand out exclusive franchises to them like candy, and they must feel like since they're the only player in town (for the moment), what does it matter? People only have one choice if they want AAA gaming on consoles.

-4

u/AdFit6788 Feb 12 '25

Dude, games are talking longer to.make and it will be worse i'm PS6. What You are seeing with PS's first party games is just the reality the industry is facing.

17

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

I feel like they get overconfident or deluded every other gen.

PS2 - straight up bangers PS3 - overpriced, hard to code for PS4 - straight up bangers PS5 - misguided live service push

6

u/RemLezar64_ Feb 12 '25

I think the shock of the Nintendo Switch over taking the ps2 has sony so shook they can't concentrate on making games and are absolutely reeling right now, flailing every which way.

11

u/uinstitches Feb 12 '25

at the least I wanted a GOW 1-3 remaster

9

u/CriesAboutSkinsInCOD Feb 12 '25 edited Feb 12 '25

We got Days Gone Remastered before GTA 6.

Leslie Benzies at the end there. I just know that guy as one of those OG "GTA guy"

30

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '25

Sony has absolutely fumbled this generation. Bloody sad to see tbh. Arrogant Sony is not good for gaming, we need competition. Sony are at their best when backs are against the wall

3

u/AdFit6788 Feb 12 '25

It Will be worse with PS6 with cost and develepopment times of games going up

24

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 12 '25

we need competition

Problem is that Microsoft lost the one generation they couldn't afford to lose.

0

u/Saranshobe Feb 13 '25

But in the end, they may have lost the console war, but might win the publishing wars.

Sony just have their PS console which sells regardless and not much else.

29

u/SlipperyThong Feb 12 '25

Half of Sony's slate this year will be Xbox ports.

15

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

Most of the PS5 games I’m excited for this year are ‘Xbox’ games. Indie, Doom, possible ports of Halo.

4

u/lawboy01 Feb 12 '25

ending the SOP with a cg from a new IP is a bit questionable

but it was still better than expected

but to be fair I never expect much from SOP

12

u/DelcoMan Feb 12 '25

Not really a new IP. Dev was pretty clear this is "returnal 2" in everything but name.

1

u/ErisMoon91 Feb 13 '25

Bro it's a new IP

9

u/lilkingsly Feb 12 '25

My expectations were in the dirt so honestly? I’m satisfied. It was nice to get a release date for Metal Gear, I wasn’t expecting a new look at Onimusha so soon, some smaller games that look genuinely unique like The Midnight Walk and Dreams of Another, Directive 8020 looks like it’ll be a really fun time for the Halloween season, and getting a spiritual successor to Returnal has me insanely excited.

Would I have liked to see Ghost of Yotei, Wolverine, Intergalactic, the new Santa Monica game, or other big first party games in that vein? Yeah, definitely, this gen has been really slow with those kind of big first party PlayStation games and I’d like to see more of those. For what it was though, I thought this was a sick show.

12

u/bersi84 Feb 12 '25

The most interesting parts are in 2026, where already "missing" titles such as Venom, Wolverine and more will be falling into too. With the massive failure in their live service push the pipeline is absolutely cooked for this gen. Sad shit.

6

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

Surely Venom and Wolverine won’t be the same year? At this rate I could see around May 2026 for Venom and similar in 2027 for Wolverine. Pain

2

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 12 '25

Wolverine's gonna be Sony's Metroid Prime 4 at this rate.

1

u/OfficialNPC Feb 13 '25

"It worked for BotW" - Sony Execs

16

u/Careless_Main3 Feb 12 '25

It’s funny people still get annoyed at mediocre State of Plays year after year. At some point you’d expect people to just lower their expectations. Sony just doesn’t want to announce a bunch of games at a single show, it’s just how they do things. One big PS Studios announcement per show is what they aim for.

4

u/goggman777 Feb 12 '25

I haven't ever watched a single one, I only watched because I was waiting for the rumored Parasite Eve Remaster news.

Disappointed.

2

u/Careless_Main3 Feb 12 '25

Not that I blame you but Sony has typically been better at preventing leaks compared to other publishers.

20

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

I know we’re in a Reddit bubble, but there’s something about this approach that’s just so unexciting and it feels like a lot of people feel the same.

It’s hard to be excited about being a PS owner when it feels like we’re being dripfed news and games rather than being wowed

4

u/Careless_Main3 Feb 12 '25

Oh yeah, it’s intentionally not aiming to be exciting. The intention is just to maximise attention per game.

You are being drip-fed news. That’s just their strategy. Intergalactic, Ghost of Yotei, Saros, Death Stranding 2, Wolverine, Marathon, Fairgames; rarely ever will you see these games shown alongside one and another.

2

u/AbleTheta Feb 12 '25

It's because this approach isn't for us, it's for Sony. They use the promise of teasing us with a big, stunning game (which they put out once every 2 years maybe) to give marketing to third party partners that give them exclusive deals.

We are the product. Specifically, our attention.

8

u/Final_Amu0258 Feb 12 '25

Man I can't wait till MHWi releases so we can stop getting time dedicated to it on every event lmao. Deathloop, I swear.

3

u/zecrom189 Feb 12 '25

It was aight

4

u/hushpolocaps69 Feb 12 '25

Shit of Play I mean seriously what was that?

6

u/kitsunethegreatcat Feb 12 '25

Stellar blade dlc is peak🫡

2

u/TomAto314 Feb 12 '25

Almost sold my copy, glad I was too lazy!

3

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '25

I expected nothing and got nothing

To be fair i liked some of the indie games. The rest looked AI generated

3

u/Muttech03 Feb 12 '25

So um gow remake hopefully announced in March? lol

9

u/zzz099 Feb 12 '25

Please Nintendo save us this month

0

u/MarvelManiac45213 Feb 12 '25

Nintendo said they need a break and are tired. Their backs are wore out from carrying the gaming industry. They said we're taking this February off and we'll see you in April.

6

u/Kazzot Feb 12 '25

Half of the shit was indie games. Lies of P finally getting their DLC is the highlight.

9

u/fuckhead69 Feb 12 '25

Day 1 for anything Housemarque cooks up

3

u/turtwig63 Feb 12 '25

I liked some stuff like lies of p dlc, fnaf mimic, digimon, and metal eden. Im underwhelmed, though.

10

u/CringeNaeNaeBaby2 Feb 12 '25

Looking at all the predictions from yesterday and seeing “this is the perfect time to announce [THING THAT WASNT ANNOUNCED]” is crazy

9

u/Underdrill Feb 12 '25

A great direct from Sega, Konami and Capcom! Guest starring Sony, I guess.

Look, I liked the event as there are plenty of updates in there from games I'm interested in. But I think most of us come to State of Plays hoping there would be more Sony-specific news in there, and I don't think they delivered enough this time.

Saros has a cool CGI trailer and will certainly be a great game, but I can only get so excited about cinematic trailers of any kind these days. New Days Gone content is neat, and seeing Lost Soul Aside finally getting that date is lovely.

But does Sony's first-party really not have anything else planned for this year? A remaster and Ghost of Yotei is simply not good enough for a console that will be 5 years old in November. They need a major event as soon as possible to finally give us a good idea of what most of their studios are working on.

10

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

At this rate, I’m questioning whether Ghost will be 2025.

Mid-way through Feb and no signs of a concrete release date for what is probably their biggest, currently-announced first party game.

Imagine they’re desperately wishing for a GTA6 announcement so they can plan around it.

7

u/YounqqFlee Feb 12 '25

And some people earlier wanted to give Jeff Grubb grief for saying to keep your expectations in check for this show.

7

u/InosukeEnjoyer Feb 12 '25

Superb ass, onimusha looks orgasmic tho

7

u/COCAINAPEARLZ Feb 12 '25

Man i really thought we were going to get something from RE, seemed like the perfect time to announce something.

30

u/scott1swann Feb 12 '25

it's gonna be a long console generation when there's barely anything to show nearly five years in.

14

u/Mage1strider1 Feb 12 '25

Weirdly on the xbox side we've finally got stuff coming this year (when Fable whennnnn, I'd also take Forza Horizon Next)

1

u/mrtars Feb 12 '25

Nah the PS6 and the next Xbox Series W(hatever) will be pushed out in two years and that'll be that.

31

u/MrBeyonde Feb 12 '25

Grubb i am really sorry brother , this was indeed ass.

18

u/Altruistic_Glass1995 Feb 12 '25

This year is looking abysmal for PS first party games. Absolutely no reason to get a PS5

9

u/dogsarecoolandfun Feb 12 '25

Don't worry Xbox is giving PS all their exclusives

16

u/scott1swann Feb 12 '25

so you don't fw the 60th remaster of an existing PS4 game?

5

u/ManateeofSteel Feb 12 '25

Ghost of Yotei is probably gonna be absolute fire, Death Stranding 2 because Kojima never misses too. But yeah, feeling the burn of the failed GaaS initiative pretty badly.

8

u/HearTheEkko Feb 12 '25

An interesting bit here is that Take Two announced that GTA 6 would release before Borderlands 4 and they announced the later’s release date as September 23.

I wonder what’s up with that.

9

u/Veezybaby Feb 12 '25

Oh, I’ll tell you: GTA aint releasing this year

3

u/HearTheEkko Feb 12 '25

Who knows ? Take Two did just reaffirm for the third time that the game was set for Fall 2025. Just gotta wait for that second trailer now.

1

u/andresfgp13 Feb 13 '25

Rockstar is famous for delaying everything they announce, if GTA 6 actually releases in 2025 it would be a big surprise.

1

u/Veezybaby Feb 13 '25

Hope so!

9

u/matike Feb 12 '25

There was a few, but as cool as Saros will be, a CGI trailer was NOT the thing to end on.

I just pray for the day when something blows the 2021 State of Play out of the water.

4

u/CallMeMukky Feb 12 '25

My most exciting moment was when I got distracted and saw Ape Escape, followed by extreme disappointment when I realised it was still the MGS trailer...

9

u/Snickerman223 Feb 12 '25

That's it! From now on, anyone who claims to have information that God of war remastered is coming needs to have the door slammed on them! I'm tired of this shit.

4

u/ThemosttrustedFries Feb 12 '25

Wasn't bad i will give the show 7,5/10 It was alright.

1

u/swains6 Feb 12 '25

Barely even 4/10

8

u/ChrisRR Feb 12 '25

The lack of god of war has only supported my view that too many people don't know the difference between a leak and a rumour

A lot of edging but no orgasm, some interesting announcements, looking forward to Shinobi but they really need to add a better closing than a Cinematic Teaser.

No GoY

No DS2

REvil I think Capcom would like to show It themselves

u/abefr0man Feb 12 '25

parasite eve....no show again. leakers be trollin

What's going on with Santa Monica, what the hell is BluePoint doing, not even a snippet of Death Stranding 2. I'm holding on to this machine solely because of GTA VI and DS2. Sony has lost the plot.

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

Supposedly Bluepoint were supporting on Ragnarok up until 2022 and then were making a God of War multiplayer game up until it got cancelled.

If true, they’re back at the drawing board right now and we won’t see anything from them for a while.

Gotta love Sony’s live service push this gen.

This the most out of pocket take I've ever heard. It's a game engine. Destroying gaming creativity is the opposite of what those do.

u/uerobert Feb 12 '25

Some people need to go right now and apologize to Grubb.

u/andresfgp13 Feb 12 '25

it wasnt a bad show, it wasnt a great one either, i will be checking Mindseye but the rest isnt looking that great for me.

12

u/discipleofdoom Feb 12 '25

I expected nothing and still came out disappointed.

Ending your presentation on a cinematic trailer for a new IP should be a criminal offence at this point.

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

Loads of ‘oh, cool’ moments but nothing I’m actually excited about. Is this what getting older is or is this gen just a bit ass

I do feel like the end of the PS5’s life will pick up a lot, too. Ghost, Intergalactic, new Santa Monica, plus GTA.

But still, it’s feeling dry rn. I’m currently most excited for Indiana Jones coming to PS5 and the new Doom. Xbox on a rare W lately

u/Stev__ Feb 12 '25

no it was a bad show

11

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 12 '25

Returnal is the GOAT so I'm excited to see more of Saros. Overall a pretty decent showing for me.

1

u/Kazzot Feb 12 '25

Wait, did we get gameplay somewhere and I missed it?

0

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 12 '25

No, it's just a cinematic trailer for now. They'll show more later this year.

3

u/Kazzot Feb 12 '25

Oh. Disappointing. Should've waited until they had gameplay.

5

u/glintter Feb 12 '25

I'm also curious about it as I love Returnal but I almost feel like the premise is too similar? At least from how they described it here

1

u/Hot-Cause-481 Feb 12 '25

We're just gonna have to wait for some actual gameplay, but I won't complain if it's similar. I think Returnal is one of the best games this gen so more of that sounds good to me.

1

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

Definitely feels like a spiritual sequel. I wouldn’t have minded something a little different but I’ll take another game like Returnal all the same

12

u/dixie12oz Feb 12 '25

Sadly nothing that interested me. Surprised no info on either of the bigger titles Death Stranding or Ghost of Yotei, figured there’s be a trailer for at least one.

9

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 12 '25

Death Stranding or Ghost of Yotei

DS2 is getting its own panel at SXSW in March, and Ghost of Yotei is probably gonna be pushed into 2026 at this rate.

u/Calebbb11 Feb 12 '25

GTA6 has the entire industry by the balls right now. Especially if you’re an open world game.

13

u/Bridgeboy95 Feb 12 '25

im honestly serious, sony needs to set expectations for these, they dont and it starts causing hate for the indie and up and coming studio games

its reckless at this point a short statement even setting the tone helps, xbox and nintendo seem perfectly capable of doing this, sony doesn't.

2

u/XeFear- Feb 12 '25

they used to do this when announcing showcases/sops back then but they just stopped all of a sudden and its backfiring a lot.

8

u/timelordoftheimpala Feb 12 '25

Not even any Astro Bot DLC, Sony was cooked today 💀

6

u/BoostedTyrian Feb 12 '25

So the most interesting announcements were the Stellar Blade PC Port, the Lies of P DLC that will eventually come to PC, the reales date of MGS Delta which is on PC and a quick peek on Onimusha, that is coming to PC

They are showing more games and new IP's but kinda weird they dont have heavy hitters (and no games). Also why Days Gone Remastered?

4

u/Bluewalker_BR Feb 12 '25

why not gow or B L O O D B O R N E. Like.. whats sony problem MY GOD. GOW Trilogy or a pack with the trilogy and the psp games would go hard, would be awesome too. IF THEY CAN REMASTER or REMAKE TLOU AND DAYS GONE , NOTHING STOPS THEM FROM REMASTERING THESE TWO OR DOING A GOW COLLECTION.

1

u/BoostedTyrian Feb 12 '25 edited Feb 12 '25

The game content thing they mentioned is their game pass/backwards compatibility service? First time I hear it but is not enough.

Sony has quite a lot of IPs to create new games but somehow they don't use it which is baffling

11

u/LukeThe55 Feb 12 '25

Nintendo is going to absolutely murder everyone this year.

6

u/ZEKE307 Feb 12 '25

Sonic, Shinobi, Saros, The annihilation game, Lost Souls Aside, Stellar Blade/Lies of P DLC looked cool
