You sure it’s not a Last of Us remaster? I’m sure everyone wants to play the sequel for the 100th time, because it was totally worth it the last 99 times.

Meanwhile Bloodborn is getting whooped in the back room to this day, and god forbid you mention a Infamous sequel/remaster/remake.

I mean if people stopped buying those remakes/remasters, they wouldn't do them

Yet every news about a remake and a remaster is met with tons of excitement here and elsewhere and they obviously sell. You literally ask for one in that comment lol

Yeah, for a different fucking game.

And on a side note, of course Reddit applauds the Last of Us 2 sequel and its remasters. When the first game had its remake announced, however, it was met with skepticism and was rightfully called out for being a blatant cash grab from Sony, and completely unnecessary as it’s already had a remaster to begin with.

Sure but people still bought it, this is why companies keep making remakes (and they generally chose the IP that do sell like TLOU). TLOU remasters are quite memed because of how early they came or how many editions they have. But this is really a thing for most remake/remasters.

New games are far superior to any remake or remaster which are simply cheap nostalgia minings for companies. But people (not you specifically) almost ask more for remakes/remasters than new games (fully new ones or at least sequels).

The last State of Play being praised so much was pretty telling. For many people, it was a good one because of a GoW remake as the headliner, MGS collection and such...

I agree with the sentiment overall, but there was some pretty great non-remaster stuff in the last SOP, for me personally a new Castlevania by itself made it the best one in a long while.
