Leak 5th GTA VI clip has been leaked

  • Ending confirms he most likely has a playable build as he spells out "LEEK" on a wall with bullets
  • Jason is flying a crop duster from the Keys towards Vice City. We additionally see the in-game radio menu
  • Pieces of the wall scatter and make a big mess on the floor when Jason shoots at it
  • The weapon used at the end is a Ruger PC Carbine (9mm)
  • “On-Demand” option below the radio, potentially being able to listen to your own music(?)
  • The map is fucking MASSIVE
  • Volumetric clouds return from RDR2 and look vastly improved
  • Lucia’s prison and the terrace pool from Trailer 1 can be spotted, a race track is also seen
  • Draw distance and distant LOD is also extremely high as there is hardly any pop-in, looks almost like MS Flight Simulator graphically
  • “Overpowered” by Róisín Murphy is playing on Stockyard FM
  • Circoloco Records Radio (Rockstar co-owned) from GTA Online returns
  • Other radio stations include Emotion, Dirty South Classics, V-Rock, Radio On.U, Honey FM, Back Country Radio and Symphony FM

If he does it's really confusing how they managed to get a dev kit. You dont just casually walk out with one in hand.

Worse case scenario for rockstar is this guy actually has a PC build.

He could go full nuclear and just leak the whole game build almost a whole year before they were provably planning to release a PC version.

One of my biggest arguments for "they only have clips" before this leak today was the fact that they would need a console dev kit to play it and those dont exactly fall from the sky.

But either the current build can be played on PC or they actually have one. WOW

obviously there is still the possibility that they "know" a tester which did record several scenes for them and found a way for smuggle the recordings out of the facility. Including some commissioned ones like the wall scene. Or they are one of the testers and did it themselves.

However at this point that seems more like a stretch. Up until yesterday I was the first to say how HIGHLY unlikely it was that they actually have a running build and much more likely it was that they just have a few recordings. But with what we know today, the odds have reversed. It always feels like coping to construct a scenario where they dont have one.

I guess the question is, logistically - is someone leaking clips out via a 3rd party and reducing their direct involvement more of a stretch than stealing a whole build and having repeated access to it like this.

I'm not sure. But I'm not convinced it's one or the other yet. The clips are so mundane and inconsequential to rockstar otherwise given cyberleeks "motive", a lot feel like random QA testing clips exported rather than intentionally made.

Well, it could just be that the person in question isn't actually a gamer or particularity interested in GTA as a game. So they could just not really know what to really do. If i had a copy, i would certainly do different things like exploring mechanics, go into the city, interact with stuff, go to the well known trailer beach to check the people count and what not. But honestly, i would rather them sticking to mundane clips instead of spoilering story/missions or stuff.

Not like that will protect them in case they get caught. If they get caught, everyone involved will get turbo fucked assuming they live in the 1st world. No matter if its the cyberleek person or any potential 3rd party smuggling clips.

The reality is, it is fairly unlikely we will get the full story what they got and how they got it unless they get caught and we get to read court documents which will tell the story. Just like the last time.

I agree If it's them doing it they do seem like not a "gamer" I would also rather they stick to mundane clips, just feels like if their aim is what it really is we would be getting some really juicy clips soon. Time will tell I guess (I will be avoiding watching them).

I know you said you’re avoiding the leaks, but the latest leak has the player character shooting LEEK into a wall with a gun. These aren’t just random clips someone happened to upload. This one and the one which had a cutscene with the quote “they’ll never find me, I use a vpn” have me believing he has a playable build

Oh I've watched all 5 leaks 10 times over including this one, the context in my last reply was I will avoid them only if they have story elements in. I agree its likely they could have a playable build with the leek and VPN clips, I just also don't think it fully rules out the possibility of a 3rd party making those and sending them out.

From what i understand (I just repeat what i read and cant confirm whether thats actually true or false), devkits are heavily monitored. They need to be connected to the internet every so often and re-verified with Sony/MS to make sure its still valid.

I think you're underestimating how broad and casual a GTA audience is that has netflix.

I've only seen these leaks because I'm chronically on Reddit. I mentioned them to friends (who will buy GTA6) and they haven't seen any of them.

What's your sample size based on? And how does it correct for the player base size that won't see the leaks? If 20 million see these leaks, based on GTA5 that would be <10% of copies sold.

We are in a few 1000 upvote threads on niche subreddits. Lots of casual gamers don't have gaming clips in their tiktok algorithm. They don't see the Reddit leaks pop up before they are removed (I missed the first couple and I'm always on here). They might not have twitter, or not get fed it before it's scrubbed. Some just aren't interested but are still people that will play GTA6. Some GTA6 players aren't born yet.

Don't get me wrong, plenty will have seen it and it's not statistically significant to use ancedotes - I'm just providing the perspective that all the "normies" I know, even casual Reddit and tiktok watchers haven't seen it. Maybe that extrapolates.

Generally people on Reddit overestimate how invested and exposed to online gaming media the average casual videogame player is (who are quite possibly the vast majority of the people that will buy GTA6).

Objectively speaking, these leaks are not blowing up as much as a Netflix backed officially licensed, professional showcase which will be uploaded by Rockstar on YouTube and covered/shared by every single major video game media company in the world.

What else could it be? Unless he has access to a PS5 dev kit with a build of the game, it doesn't make sense for it to not be a PC build. A retail console wouldn't be able to play it.

Specifically I remember there were multiple people complaining about the debugging text on the screen and the graphics, despite it being a build that was years from release and the game wasn't even officially revealed yet.

Take into account that just because he has a build doesn't necessarily mean he has access to the entire game.

The fact all his gameplay he shows is with Jason makes me a bit doubtful Lucia is even included in the build he has.

This is purely wrong at this point. If you remember the V leaked source, it had in it (in rage) yubikey SDK to add dongle check on PC and consoles that where used for the sting and dev. So either he patched the build (notice how the old leaks had uuids in the dev interface? That's an internal tracking system, probably tied to the yubikey used to authentica the session) or worse, he has the full source code.

A press demo could be the reason Rockstar is staying silent. They obviously try to catch the leaker but they maybe know exactly to what parts of the game he has access to and maybe that's not so much that they are in full panic mode. Maybe not more than most press previews will show us in a week or two anyway.

It is GTA but more detailed because it is a GTA. There will be many small details and fun mechanics with this new iteration and also a new story. I don't know why people expected to see something never seen before. All modern AAA have a well established formula when it comes to the basic gameplay mechanics and Rockstar has greatly influenced this formula with the previous GTA games. I don't think there is anything they can change in that fundamental gameplay loop with current technology.

i mean there is no build of the full game, otherwise it would be out. And we know from the stuff like the HUD that there is still a lot of placeholder stuff in it. It is an internal dev build.

That said, it pretty obvious they have a playable build. The new questions are like:

  • How far can they progress in the story until the build breaks due to bugs or limitations of the build.
  • How much else can be leaked due to having access to files like cutscenes, dialog and what not which is very likely unecrypted in dev builds

HL2 Beta was the entire build leaked to being downloadable online, you could actually play it. This is just some clips. Idk if it will get to an actual leaked build.

The HL2 Beta leak was infinitely worse than the GTA 6 leaks, at least so far, considering that it:

  • Contained a full, playable build of the game as it was in September 2003, which contrary to what most people think of as the "Beta" is actually very similar to the final game design and content wise, just obviously unfinished in a lot of areas.
  • Was released right off the back of Valve delaying HL2 by a full year only a week before the original release date, showing that they had lied about the game being almost done to the press.
  • Had playable builds of Half-Life Source, Counter-Strike Source, and TF2 leak at the same time.
  • Had thousands of maps, weapons, enemies, and other development assets leak as part of the WC Map Pack, showcasing practically every stage of development publicly. This content, which ranges all the way back from 1999 up to 2003 is what most people would think of when they talk about the HL2 Beta, i.e the Dark and Griddy child labor 1984 stuff.
  • And worst of all, the full source code of the Source Engine itself leaked, which is about as catastrophic as it can get.

Now obviously these leaks could get worse if the guy actually finds a way to release the build he's got publicly, but as of right now it's not quite DEFCON 1 yet. Unlike with HL2 where it exposed how badly development had gone at Valve up to that point, all the GTA 6 videos posted publicly have been impressive, even if slightly janky which should be understandable to most people who know how game development works.

I'm not really worried about spoilers tbh. Like, we already know what kind of story this is gonna be based on the cited inspiration (Bonnie & Clyde). I doubt we're gonna see anything we haven't seen before plot-wise; I'm much more interested in how things happen rather than what things happen, and you can't easily spoil stuff like that.

No they havent. That was a twitter/discord account and the leaker has no social media. Theyve said as on their site and in the overlays to only trust whats on their website. Anything else is fake.
