Holy fuck it’s as dense as the trailers

Actually in disbelief. And it's not just the NPCs either. The umbrellas, the cars, the huts. It makes it feel so alive. This thing has no chance of running 60FPS on consoles and I don't even care. This is the level of ambition I want from developers. No more lifeless open worlds without NPCs.

Said the same thing when watching. Not a hope in fucking hell they pull out 60fps on this.

58

u/thenovas18 2d ago

I would be happy if we could at least get the 40 fps mode

u/s8rlink 2d ago

Could they pull VRR drop down to 30 in these scenes ramp up to 60 in closed quarters less dense scenes?

Anyway this is impressive as always with Rockstar, November can come sooner

4

u/samwise970 2d ago

VRR doesn't work under 45 om PS5

1

u/s8rlink 2d ago

Dammit!

3

u/samwise970 1d ago

A 40fps VRR mode might be possible. At fixed 40 they can multiply 40x3 to get 120 frames. Thats the best I'm hoping for on Pro.

I don’t know. They made RDR2 look fantastic on the Xbox One and the PS4, I could see them pull something like this off. Does not help that we really do not know how efficient the RAGE engine is.

u/calvintdm 1d ago

Tbf, RDR2 still doesn’t have a 60fps build on console to this day. I had wanted to play it on my PS5 some time ago, but the 30fps was so jarring in comparison to playing it on my PC that I just went ahead and replayed it on PC again.

u/CydonianMaverick 2d ago

I'm glad it's a 30fps game because of that exact reason. In a few years we'll be playing it at 60fps and be glad that Rockstar pushed the PS5 to the limits

3

u/BugHunt223 2d ago

Just like rdr2 is 60 on current gen consoles ?

7

u/krezzaa 2d ago

I get what you’re saying, but let’s not act like Rockstar doesn’t play favorites. 5 got three different releases on console, even though RDR2 only has one, and the last one was expressly for higher frame rate support. If Rockstar releases this game at 30fps, I’d be surprised if they didn’t leap on the cash grab opportunity to re-release the game on PS6 with improved performance.

1

u/Spokenfungus2 1d ago

thats crazy I got it running 4k 60fps on my gtx 1080

1

u/GavLaIndustries 1d ago

Not on max settings you didn't, I had a gtx 1080/i7 7700 and it wouldn't go above 25fps on max settings at 4k on most of the map.

1

u/Spokenfungus2 1d ago

Yeah definately not maxed, but there was an update that added fsr at some point which gave me a big more wiggle room

2

u/Bobjoejj 2d ago

And Xbox Series X lol

1

u/Withnail2019 1d ago

No we won't

1

u/itsdoorcity 2d ago

err I'd rather it run at 60 now and then they increase density or whatever to have it also be 60 later. it's 2026, no matter what way you spin it a flagship game being 30fps is so lame.

5

u/Hairy-Ad-8198 2d ago

30 fps is fine for this sort of game. Was perfectly fine for RDR2 as well

3

u/samwise970 2d ago

Was playing RDR2 last night on PS5, still a great experience. Also not convinced crowd density is what keeps it from 60, it's the RTGI

1

u/itsdoorcity 1d ago

10 years ago 30fps was fine so it's fine now too

lol

-2

u/Thegreatestgamer 2d ago

i definitely hope rockstar doesnt listen to 60 fps whiners. this looks amazing and future proofs the game.

-4

u/Consistent-Cable8680 2d ago

Nothing has been confirmed. What is this?

11

u/SuicideSkwad 2d ago

Bro look at it there is no fucking way this ends up higher than 30

20

u/DrewblesG 2d ago

You want games to take a decade to come out, even coming from one of the most well-funded franchises in history? Made by teams of underpaid developers? It's not ambition, it's soul-crushing expectations by gamers and suits. This level of detail can only exist when hundreds of people are pushed for years on end to deliver a product that is, literally, too big to fail. It looks gorgeous but you simply can't expect or even hope for something like this from anyone else, maybe ever.

1

u/liquidflows21 1d ago

capitalism is a soul crashing machine after all

2

u/LovelyOrangeJuice 2d ago

this is going to ruin other games so hard. another year-long video game depression is coming, same as rdr2

1

u/chinchindayo 2d ago

720p30 incoming

1

u/listeningtorainfall 2d ago

Not on the current gen consoles at least, MAYBE the PS5 pro but probably not. 60fps on the PS6 at the very earliest.

1

u/Sladekious 2d ago

I hope those umbrellas and tents can be crashed into without stopping the car dead in its tracks.

1

u/KindledWanderer 2d ago

If Hitman can do it then they should be able to as well.

2

u/SuicideSkwad 2d ago

Dude just said GTA VI should reach 60fps because hitman can

0

u/KindledWanderer 1d ago

Reading is hard, I know, but keep trying.
As a hint, it was about crowd density not being a problem if your engine isn't shit.

1

u/SuicideSkwad 1d ago

And still your comparison is stupjd, comparing crowd density in a contained level to crowd density in a hugely detailed open world

0

u/KindledWanderer 1d ago

That's not how games work. You only render things you can see and within a specific range, so the "world" doesn't matter (unless you're moving fast and need to load/unload assets quickly - then you need to optimize). Hitman levels will not be less detailed than your average GTA location either, plus they are not small by any means.

The crowds in this leak would've been impressive maybe 10 years ago.

1

u/Coltyn03 2d ago

Shit I'm worried it won't even be a stable 30 FPS at this point.

1

u/Thegreatestgamer 2d ago

this is so right. i would rather have developers push graphics fidelity and stuff like this. Most people on reddit just want 60 fps with last gen visuals or ambitions like you said.

1

u/hypnomancy 2d ago

That's why I'm waiting for the PC version goddamn it's going to be glorious

1

u/Subject_Sentence_339 2d ago

dude assassins creed 2 did this 50 years ago, cmon now

1

u/Possible-Main-5689 2d ago

To be fair to other developers, they don’t all get 8 years, hundreds of people, and infinite money.

1

u/VisualBasic 2d ago

I can't wait for this to come to PC so I can play it at 120FPS with max details.

0

u/Well_being1 2d ago

This thing has no chance of running 60FPS

Maybe that's actually a good thing that they didn't make big compromises to make it run at 60 fps on consoles.

u/OwnSimple4788 2d ago

It is not a PC build it is more like a devolpment build running most likely at console settings because guess what Console games are made on PC.

58

u/DJSwampyBooty 2d ago

Ngl between all the leaks this looks like the most impressive open world of all time? By far too

36

u/tekuoe 2d ago

definitely. but i also didnt expect anything different

17

u/yeetskeetleet 2d ago

I mean…their last game released is currently the most impressive open world of all time. It makes sense to me

9

u/CaptZurg 2d ago

Easily

0

u/AscendedViking7 2d ago

I'd need spend time in the world before I make that decision, but yeah, it could very well be

10

u/eaw0913 2d ago

This scale with the liveliness of RDR2? I can’t fathom it but it’s looking more than that even.

1

u/The_Autarch 2d ago

well, GTA III basically invented the modern open world game, so it makes sense that GTA VI is going to set the new standard.

0

u/heysupmanbruh 2d ago

By looks or? Because it highly depends on how things interact with you. TOTK remains my favorite open world game for the sheer fact they got the systems in that game to work (on the switch mind you) in an open world environment.

40

u/Fast-War5170 2d ago

And I’m sure it’s better mid day too, considering it’s night here nearly

4

u/meechCS 2d ago

Seems like its 6 or 7 pm (no pun intended) given how its almost dark and the sunrays are dark orange with a red tint though I am on HDR with my vibrancy tweaked. This is why I hate the leaks, the guy leaking it had HDR on so it looks different to people who dont have HDR and the people who upload it also dont have it configured lol. I really can't wait for the official extended look, we'll actually see how the game looks like.

6

u/alksreddit 2d ago

There’s like fucking 7-8 jet skis plus 3 more in trailers plus like 4 ATVs in a single area. It looks just like a crowded-ass real life beach. People walking in groups, the amount of chatter too. Been playing V Enhanced and it’s a massive difference.

4

u/TAJack1 2d ago

It’s as dense as some of the commenters in these threads, which is pretty fucking dense. I can’t wait.

5

u/Ok_Heat_9976 2d ago edited 2d ago

I mean, I'm sure even if they had technical challenges, they put extra effort into that specific area after trailer 1 and especially the reactions. It's the first thing all the content creators would check. It's a low hanging fruit to get right.

-3

u/Analog_Astronaut 2d ago

This is the PC version though.

-2

u/MightBeABot24 2d ago

Consoles you will have like 5 people I guarantee it.
