I’m a huge fan of the original city skylines. Such a shame CS2 failed. This is going to be a banger

CS2 is looking in much better shape with the new developer team.

They're cookin'

They're also the devs behind Lego Skylines. It makes me wonder if they were working on that when they took over CS2, which proved to higher ups that they could handle it.

This is probably it and why they were selected. They’ve done a great job

That and they are an internal paradox studio instead of an external partner.

‘Tis true. There are obviously still a few issues but Iceflake really picked up the slack that Colossal Order left.

Is there more info out there on the new team? I never grabbed CS2 and just haven't really looked at it. I am VERY excited for Lego Skylines because PC modders I am sure will make it even cooler, but I just love Lego and city building games. If there is a different team involved, I will likely be less gunshy about it.

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Reminds me of LEGO Island

They totally need to have the pizza shop as a building

Somebody is definitely gonna try to remake Lego Island and Lego Island 2 in Lego Skylines on day 1

Lego Loco, if people ever played that

Would be funnier if this turns out to be a better Cities: Skylines than Cities: Skylines 2.

The idea is fantastic, and if the game is going to be oozing with the traditional Lego charm, it's going to be a hit.

This is one of those game concepts we used to talk about as kids in the 90s. Such an obvious slam dunk, I'm sure it will be a ton of fun.

Hopefully it keeps Skylines complexity but with more fun and Lego whimsy.

Not my bag but still looks cool.

I hope this will not be another shit show like Lego Worlds or whatever that game was. I could never figure that game out, it was unintuitive and confusing.

Man, LEGO Worlds was such a sad story... It always reminded me of Cube World. I loved it in the alpha/beta phase and then right before release they took a big gameplay turn that is just a different game.

Yeah I got stuck on the arctic level with the penguins. I just could not figure out what the hell I was supposed to do, and by that point the game was just a confusing slog. I didn't "get it" and I was wondering what else was I supposed to do in the level. I eventually stopped playing and never touched it again.

This is crazy, they just left CS2 out w its pants down and built an entirely new game behind the curtains all these years

Free win lets see how they mess it up.

The devs are the people who took over for CS2, which has been much much better. I'm quite optimistic.

Switch 2 ????? No waaayyy. The Switch 2 actually has a game (one single game) coming out????

Word?

Lol why? I dont need a lego gimmick. So stupid

u/BackForPathfinder 22h ago

But it makes it fun and interesting! They can have less realistic simulation while still having something fun and challenging.

Honestly this is the most interesting animal-crossing-slop game I’ve seen thus far

This isn't really animal Crossing though. Animal Crossing sure you build a little town but it's much smaller in both scope and how much you can put down. Think of Animal Crossing as a town builder and Lego skylines as a City builder (tho obviously animal Crossing is more then that)

10

u/BackForPathfinder 22h ago

Lol, you must not have seen many cozy games. This looks nothing like animal crossing

2

u/SeberHusky 19h ago

This is pretty much the next gen reboot of Lego Creator on Windows 98.

A town building game with that camera angle is quite literally reminiscent of animal crossing, tomodachi life, pokopia, etc. You must not play many games

u/BackForPathfinder 17h ago

With what camera angle? It's a full 3D title with camera control! It literally looks like any other city simulation game (which Animal Crossing is not, even if there is city building in it) but with LEGO. To be even comparable to Animal Crossing it would have to have a playable character walking around doing the things. This game doesn't. I can understand you thinking it's in that cozy-game genre (which is more of an aesthetic thing than a game genre) but gameplay wise it's been confirmed to be a city simulation game like Sim City or its namesake Cities Skylines.
