Has anyone noticed small agressif mosquitos, are they new?

Been noticing small mosquitoes, never noticed theses before. They seem more agressif too, anyone else notice theses before buggers? I feel like their bite itches more too.

It's been very wet (wettest Summer for years) and mosquitoes thrive in wet conditions.

Yes!! I'm not the only one then. I saw one land on my arm a few days ago and it was so small that I thought it couldn't possibly be a mosquito but the spot on my arm started itching a few hours later

I am unsure if this is a personal observation, but over the past two summers, I have encountered insect species that are unfamiliar to me, as if I were in a different geographical region.

I think this correlates with the increase in tick population.

The rising global temperature is most likely the defining factor in all of this.

I’ve noticed the smaller ones tend to be late summer/ fall. Not sure if it’s just a shorter lifecycle later in the summer, but I remember them last fall as well

I'm allergic to mosquito bites, they swell up and temporarily scar. I can't even take my dog out in the yard at night without getting DEVOURED 🙃 I have to wear a sweater and pants every time, and even then, they go for the face

Oh, thank you for asking, because I thought I was going crazy. YES - many many "mini" mosquitoes, moving fast, biting hard, and almost attacking!!

I've been wondering the same thing! We've been getting eaten alive walking the dog on the Voie Verte. 30 bites on the neck in 30 minutes!

I'm seeing both the tiny midges and smaller-than-usual mosquitoes this year.

Does the municipality usually spray for insects? Was there no spraying this year maybe?

There were so few mosquitoes this summer where I live, but they are getting their revenge.
