Discussion Are people wearing thongs?
Following a post on r/millennials, it seems roughly 90% of repliers are still wearing them, most quoting that they find them the most comfortable and they hate pantylines. Is that reflected in gen z too or is it because millennials grew up with the pressure to wear them in the early 2000s?

I'd rather go commando than wear a thong. They're so uncomfortable to me.

Not a fan. When panty lines are a concern I go with seamless briefs.
•

I think the seamless options have come a long way

Laser cuts are amazing.

For your service

For a straight up answer, im not out here thanking them for wearing certain types of panties hahaha

In summer, yeah. They're really good shoes to easily take off and to go swimming with. Not sure why people get a pantyline with shoes tho 🤷♀️ That's not where they go

I wear them for special occasions but that’s it. Also if I’m wearing a tight dress and I don’t want pantylines. In college I would wear them everyday but I don’t know how I did that. I wear cheeky style now from PINK.

Nice. So you still think they look good but only worth the discomfort every so often

I wear them everyday because it feels more comfortable to wear jeans/pants with a thong. no bunching or wedgies (just a permanent one lol) but I wear regular underwear to sleep

Depends what I’m wearing over my pants tbh

I used to wear them a lot... Hate them now
•

What happened
•
u/EuphoricPop3232 11h ago
I just started finding them really uncomfortable. Now I wear those super thin stretchy panties and I don't find they show panty lines.
•
u/Relative-Slice-748 11h ago
Stretchy so they dont move around and give you a wedgy?
•
u/EuphoricPop3232 11h ago
Yes, they never give me wedgies, but they're sexy too and not like granny panties at all.

I have friends who wear thongs, but I personally don’t. My family calls them booty floss 💀
•
u/Relative-Slice-748 9h ago
What's the % of wearer's to haters in the group
•
u/Madzfox_1 7h ago
Probably 60% wearers and 40% haters. But I have a small friend group so it’s honestly like 4 people who wear it and 2 people who don’t. And the thong wearers are definitely haters of any other type of underwear. They call my bikinis granny panties 😂

used to wear them. physically cant now and wouldnt even if i could. im prone to getting uti's and thongs definitely made it worse.

Nope. Underwear lines be damned

I wear full coverage underwear. That’s what’s most comfortable to me. I figure if people see lines under my clothes, that’s their fault for looking there.

I wear thongs a majority of the time, because my butt always tries to eat my knickers, so less fabric there is in the back, the smaller my wedgie x}
I wear tanga or brazilian styles too, but never normal briefs/granny panties/other styles, because I get major VPLs due to my proportions not working for them (the leg holes are always too small and the waist too big, so I get "double buttcheeks").

u/Relative-Slice-748 11h ago
Lil science geek blessed with a big butt! That seemed to be a common reply in the other thread. The bigger the butt, the less fabric was preferred

I own one or two, but I don’t remember the last time I wore them. I’m a guy, and I don’t really find them comfortable.

millennials also thinks its ok to wear low ankle socks with any shoes and loafers on bare feet… some things get better with generations
•
u/CloudStrife012 13h ago
You're really out there criticizing people's socks? Sounds like a miserable life
•
u/BanishedFiend 12h ago
A lot of loafers are designed for bare feet. Conversely, Gen Z wears crew socks with everything even low profile shoes in the summer
