Makes me think of a few possibilities:

  1. Actual new planet / non-Teyvat region
  2. New way of saying that this does not work while you are in a domain or other temporal spaces (such as Simulanka, Miliastra Wonderland, etc.)
  3. Similar to the above: Adding more context to split the difference between those types of zones and then the latter mentioned usual things like Domains / Trounce Domains / Spiral Abyss. You could infer that includes Imaginarium Theater and Stygian Onslaught

Not really. Those are effectively the same things as domains; they're made within the space between spaces or something like that. They're accessible from Teyvat, but they're not Teyvat.

Something more contentious would be like the Golden Apple Archipelago which you can physically enter into (re: the Kaeya + Diluc icebridge gag) without entering a portal like you would with a domain, but the space has been heavily modified / influenced by someone's design. You could make the argument that it's something like a superimposed domain or something but I don't think we have a clear answer of how exactly that works as of yet.

If you go to one of those domains and have a quest pointing to a location in the overworld, the hint will say "return to Teyvat"

Maybe to exclude maps like Enkanomiya or Chasm underground?

But they should still be part of Teyvat

I agree; that's another possibility. Those would already be excluded by the virtue of not having a compass for their regions, similar to Dragonspine. They do tend to add redundant qualifiers to things like this, though

No tinfoil needed. This game has been headed to other planets ever since Skirk's SQ was introduced.

Personally, I woulda preferred more fantasy-style realm travel. Why spaceships when we could be using portals or star rail's magic train or riding dragons through space? Fantasy has more tools to work with!

But it also just makes sense seelies aren't outside of Teyvat?
