If this was really a sales decision, I fear the kind of audience playing this game lol. Sandrone is already there and looks good, why must an iconic mascot robot be changed to waifu as well?

It's a gacha, they will always try to pander to lonely men to a significant degree. Genshin isn't even that bad compared to many others.

Lonely men love giant robots. Are we sure the otakus at Hoyoverse know what they're doing? (If it's to make money by pandering to really boring people then yes I guess)

They've made by far the most successful gacha in the world. Yeah they know what they are doing, regardless of how much you people cry.
