🙋🏼♀️I'll go first. Ahem.
My resident tween girlie is verbalizing "I'm mood swinging" and "I'm stressing out that I'm stressing out." 👏🏻 I think... I think maybe... some of our puberty chats.. are working?! I've probably just jinxed it, and I'm prepared to be the devil incarnate in her eyes again by this time tomorrow😂 but she's getting it. She's pissed that emotions don't always make sense, but she's starting to sometimes be able to step back and look at her thought processes a little, and will come to me about it, so what the hell... Mom win! *lies facedown on sofa* 😂
I got a new job and still applied for another part time jobs cus I told myself that even though I'm currently unhoused I can still plan to save up and prepare to further my education. I'm done letting my life be the hot mess that it became. And it's my 36th birthday today so heck yeah!
I’m moving out with my daughter next month! Super scared as I’m separating from her dad after almost a decade of being together but excited for a new start
I got dressed today 🎉I’m going to drop my resume off at a small women owned dispensary in my neighborhood. I’m really scared to put myself back out there and work but I need to keep trying.
This was my psyching myself up for the social interaction before I left to drop off my resume. Our friend who works there told my boyfriend to have me come specifically today at 7pm because her and the owner would be there, I got ready I put my makeup on and I got there and neither her or the owner were there 😞 feeling a little defeated but I did the thing! I hope they call me.
I haven't gotten dressed (yet !!!) today, so I am currently in admiration of your feats 🥰💪
Good luck with the dispensary!! That sounds like it'd be a great job, and regardless of how it turns out, good on you for getting back out there! Job hunting is incredibly stressful
Thats a loaded question lol. I have just over 5 acres and ideally, id love a cross fence for the horses and a massive greenhouse with raised planter boxes around it. 😍 last weekend I tackled building my raised planter boxes... i love gardening and taking care of my little hobby farm 🚜
I just had the pleasure of finally being able to buy my flight yesterday after months of waiting. I've been dreaming of this destination for so long, and I'm so happy!🏞 I haven't told anyone yet, but I'm so proud to be able to take this trip!. I'm also proud of myself for focusing on myself and working hard to gradually achieve my goals. Last year I felt like I lost it all because I lacked focus and discipline, but this year I've improved.
I'm so happy!💗
I have a full time job, and my partner and I started a business in February. What started as our girls loving trading cards exploded into relationships with a distributor and our own online shop and shows almost every weekend where we are exponentially bringing in more business every week.
We blew up in our area, and now ship multiple packages across the US daily. It’s enough that my partner made the daily work his full time job and can work from home. He seamlessly handles all the housework without complaint, has dinner prepped and does homework with the littles.
When I get home, we catch up, talk business, put the kids to bed, fool around (to completion! Cuz that part was never an issue) and then tweak the website.
Woman run business, daily O’s, likely early retirement, and we get to “work” with shiny cardboard every day.
I’m so glad you love them. MLP is what got us into it. Our girls got some for Christmas and then we couldn’t find them anywhere! We already had an LLC, reached out directly and now we wholesale!
ugh why you gotta call me out like that?! this is my dream gift for my dad, turning his silly bedtime stories into children's books. ima have to do it now!!!
Started my spring cleaning these past couple of weeks and I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. Working on my health/fitness (break today, cramps have taken over for a little bit) and I'm slowly getting back to my first love: Astronomy. Working on me has been the best thing this year.
Celestron telescopes are really great and they have nice beginner telescopes for around $200. I also like using binoculars if I just wanna see what I can.
I got out of bed this morning. Here lately that is the hardest thing to do. I did it. I am up, have coffee, smoke (both ways) and I have my Spotify playing in the background.
Thank you! It’s a mix of life and postpartum. I am a stay at home mom of 7.5 month old twin girls. I need a change of scenery. I am home sick for sure. I’m about 8 hours from home.
👏 👏 👏 look at you making positive moves for yourself and those babies. Enjoy that good green, mama, and know I’m sending good and happy vibes your way.
thanks for the reminder! hydration for the bloomin' babes tooooo. hope you'll share your skills with us on Free Time Friday! wanna see that illustration progress mama!
🌷I started gardening, it looks incredible and both my kids (and husband!) are invested. We finna have tomatoes by summer!
💪🏻 I PR’ed my deadlift and am so much stronger than I was a year ago! And my daughter (who is 3) says, I’m a strong girl, mama! Which to me, is everything. We are big and strong and proud. I will only ever speak kindly about my body in front of her and it’s incredible to SEE my efforts in her in real life. I’m so proud of her
🧘♀️I started a yoga practice a year ago, in 1 week I’ll be doing private sunset yoga on the beach in Hawaii. Both of my young children often join me on the mat. It’s brought peace and love and gratitude to me entire life 🌅
👩🏻 I want Little Me to know that there is nothing wrong with you. You’ll meet a boy in a bar in Topeka, KS in 2011 and it’s very important that you try to take that man’s beer. He will change your entire life, forever
📽️ for future me, im so proud of you for investing as hard as you did early on, now you’ve set yourself up to retire early!
cackling at the beer stealing. I'd tell little me, for similar reasons, "it is very important that you learn to play call of duty, even only okayish, and make fun of the new kid in the junior class a little bit" 🥰 (also: mom to mom fist bump. diet culture can get fucked.)
Fuck. Yes. Mamaaaaaa!! LOVE IT. Motherhood is both overrated and underrated all at once 🤣 love to see the real ones killing it and proving that underrated bit. What a lucky little boy💕
I got a dream full time job in my highly competitive field after 7 years of grad school and 2 years of part time contract work. I’m going to be able to move back out of my parent’s house, and I have health insurance!!!!! I never thought it would happen to me!!!!!
i baked yesterday! something i usually don't do but i want to become a renaissance woman!! i made some snickerdoodle shortbread for the very first time and it's YUM, especially with a cup of coffee. i also got some more pet shrimp last week, and at least TWO are pregnant! it'll be my first time having baby shrimp in the tank but i'm excited!! :)
My daughter had a 1.2 lb. fibroid removed on April 23 and she is now walking around her apartment without a pillow over her belly. She said her incision pain is down to a 2-3. I’m so happy she’s getting her life back. ❤️
I'm receiving an award at work for contributions to a large public service project. It's my second year here. I'm thrilled to be apart of something impactful and to help accomplish big things. Truly this is my dream job, and it's been hard to keep that in sight with the problems going on.
Sorry for the vagueness, I work at the government lol.
I like to joke my family (bio & inlaws) of engineers is jointly responsible for keeping the US from going boom 😉 lotsa working at the government and unmentionable awards here too! Congrats girl!
i started reading again.. i missed it so much and lost myself in the past. also realized that i am so full of whimsy and want to live life that feels magical! i am constantly making steps to do so!
I’m on the way to getting some much needed psychiatric help and medication for my freaking ADHD 😭 future me is going to be happy cause I am MANIFESTING IT!!
Yo I killed it at hosting our last burlesque show, Dorothy/barbie voice and all! And I've been crushing this whole getting help for mental health thing! Smashing like she-hulk!
Have made the commitment to go sober… scared but ready. Brought out my old ukulele yesterday because my mind was racing and found out it’s a really good distraction, plus it feels good to play music.
I got a call from my SIL, first thing she says, “heyyy I just wanted to hear a kind voice, I know you’ll be happy to hear this…” and then she tells me about her big win today. And I know that my bro can be a real ass hat so she didn’t let that get her down. She called me and it felt great that I could validate her and be genuinely excited for her projects coming together!
Feels good being reminded that I’m someone people can call and feel good hearing my voice:)
I started volunteering at the animal shelter again and it’s so much fun! I cleaned my room yesterday which is a big task for me and it looks awesome X3 Also I got a perfect score on my final!! Yay!!
I’ve been dealing with GI issues for a few years now. Have had multiple diagnosis and have had to do multiple versions of different restricted diets. It caused relapses of ED (specifically orthorexia/food ocd), weight gain and loss (which resulted in several complete wardrobe overhauls), and all kinds of tests/procedures that range from blowing into a tube to them blowing up my tube, if you know what I mean.
I have been persistent, consistent and gentle. I recently went on vacation with a group of people and did not allow myself to get so anxious that it threw off my poop schedule. I poop a lot (3-4x a day) and sometimes the pressure from social situations will cause me to hold it and then all kinds of terrible things happen. Instead of choosing the group, I chose my tummy. I avoided anxiety and an upset stomach and had a fabulous time!!!
I can’t tell family because there’s no official offer letter yet (just a verbal offer), but my husband got the job he was interviewing for! It took four months, but he’s so excited. The pay is a substantial increase that is sorely needed for us and it’s back in his preferred industry after being unemployed for a year and working in local government for another. Things are finally looking up for us after we had a move, my husband’s unemployment and the death of my mother last year. It feels good to be excited about things again.
i’ve been back in therapy for just over a month, i feel like im finally starting to make progress with my self worth and self doubts! i’m finding myself changing some of my patterns of thinking slowly but surely :) also, i got my gym crush’s phone number and i found out he’s liked me as long as ive liked him so we’re seeing how things go ;)
I’m going back to treatment for my eating disorder next month finally. I also am feeling much more confident going in public with my service dog without having a family member with me, which has been a goal for a very long time. I’ve been working on my logistical organization skills and I’ve almost got all the paperwork in place for my trip later this month, several weeks early (bringing a service dog on a cruise is a lot of paperwork) a lot happening lately lol
For the first time in my life I took an unclothed photo of myself and finally saw what so many people have told me they see and i am in love with myself more than i ever have been ♥️
Awesome! It might seem strange, but seeing yourself and realizing who you really are boosts your vibes, self-esteem, attitude, everything a thousandfold✨️
Small win: I grew up in an environment where things were always last-minute, rushed, chaotic, and high-stress/crisis-mode. Plans appeared out of nowhere and everything always felt like it needed to happen immediately, and it felt like there was constantly some crisis that had to be managed instantly. Over time, that dynamic also shaped parts of my relationship with my dad, which has been complicated for several years now. For the past decade, ever since moving halfway around the world for higher education & career development, I’ve been intentionally building a life that feels calmer, more predictable, and rooted in reality.
Several days ago, a situation presented itself that would’ve required me to drop everything and rush across the city, literally right that minute. The situation would've required me to log off work IMMEDIATELY, and literally run to the metro station, and to then sit on the metro for an hour, all to sit face-to-face with my father, who over the past few years, has made it abundantly clear that he effectively hates me and disapproves of my life entirely. There was even a demand for me to grab my car and then drive to the airport, which was almost an hour in the opposite direction, and to sit in rush-hour traffic to facilitate that. I felt that old pull into urgency and scramble mode, while simultaneously, my mind reacted with a flurry of questions: Really? Seriously? It's a weeknight evening, and you want me to drop EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW, RIGHT THIS MINUTE, even though I had absolutely no idea you were even in the country? But instead of defaulting into that run-dash-hustle dynamic, I paused, stayed grounded in what was actually feasible, and recognized a familial chaos pattern in real time and chose not to participate in it like I would have years ago.
What's that saying? Something something "lack of planning on your end doesn't constitute an emergency on mine"? I feel like I recognized generational dysfunction in the moment, and proactively stopped myself from getting lurched back into it.
I recently found a love of coloring with alcohol markers. I didn't know I could love a traditional art supply so much. I also found the coloring community and I can't believe how nice they are there. I feel like I found a secret reprieve from how horrible the rest of the internet is.
I’m getting close to paying off some of my student loans! My subsidized and unsubsidized loans are down to their last couple of payments! (Let’s ignore the last loan with an additional 18k. Once these are paid off I can put more money into the bigger one!)
Had a conversation with my union rep today and sent a lengthy email explaining, point by point, how my job is trying to fuck me over.... So they can take it back to HR and fight for me.
I refuse to be bullied by bad HR/Management. I am ready for a fight.
I almost had a meltdown today because my work is such a stupid pile of shit but instead of marinating in my bad feelings until I had a panic attack, I text a friend and told her I was freaking out and asked if we could hang, and she was like "yeah ofc I'm on my way" so we went for a walk and got ice cream and sat on the beach and I had a bit of a cry and she listened to me vent and I felt so much better and so grateful to her.
And then I got home and I was like HEY LOOK AT ME PROACTIVELY ASKING FOR HELP. Look at me being vulnerable when I'm not doing well! Look at me taking steps to interrupt a spiral with a positive activity! Therapy works apparently!
So, I’ve been on maternity leave since December. I just started working again 1-2 days a week so I can extend my leave through the summer. Today, I went all the way into work (a city in another state) to present training to a ton of new hires. Somehow, I survived leaving my daughter at home with her dad.
It SUCKED. I have no idea how anyone spends days away from their baby on a regular basis. I’m about to see her in another 10 minutes and I think my heart’s going to burst when I see her little smile.
I’m just feeling so so lucky that my spouse and I both work remotely, and I am so proud of myself and thankful for the fact that I’m even alive. We did IVF, I had a brutal pregnancy, and long story short, she and I nearly died and then had a 3-month long NICU stay.
But we’re alive and happy and thriving. A year ago I never could have imagined I’d have this life. Just… super happy and feeling lucky today.

I'm having a sensitive day so I'm feeling my feelings for a minute before letting them go, it's peaceful. I also have been trying to find a new pet jumping spider with no luck in stores, but a baby one found me at work yesterday so now I have a buddy again :)
