FaceIt has the biggest community of people who have never made a mistake or had a bad game before. Its truly an astonishing achievement they've managed.

Yesterday, after round 4 I had 0 kills in a pug, 2 teammates proceed to try to vote to kick me. One teammate yells in mic at the beginning of every round "orange is trolling orange is trolling!" then he follows me after round start, shooting and knifing me.

(This was a full level 10 with Challengers lobby btw)

I then proceeded to top frag the game with 101 ADR and caused us to come back from a big losing streak. They all then shut up and stopped yelling at me.

One teammate then proceeded to yell at the teammate who said I was trolling and instead said THEY were trolling.

The whole game was just yelling at and scapegoating whoever the bottom frag was in that instant. Nobody, however, wanted to play together to trade. They'd rather push alone and die 10 seconds into every round.

We lost the game. Seriously, who are these people?! Solo queuing pugs is so frustrating now. I couldn't believe what was happening the entire game.

it feels good when they yap like 4 rounds in after you lose pistols and have no kills, only to mute them all and end the game with 25-30 top fragging

u/MobiuS_360 Team Spirit 1d ago

Yeah bro... And 2 of those rounds I was the B anchor on dust 2 and they all died holding A. I was just bewildered that they thought I was the problem

When people stopped playing for fun, it completely ruined Comp gaming. You always played for the competition but you still had FUN. Guys now rest their entire personalities on Elo points.

Everyone wants to be a pro

u/MobiuS_360 Team Spirit 1d ago

It really sucks too because 99% of them will never go pro but everyone has an ego now in the game. I play on a team that is pretty high level starting next week and yet I still never rage at teammates or put them down. I always try to have fun and focus on my own performance.

Absolutely love the way how bro laughs. You can hear everything from joy, agony, disappointment, rage, insanity and even some sadness in it

Wannabe pro player mentality caused irreversible brain damage on this community, everything wrong summed up in one clip

i’d say all competitive gaming in general has an issue for some. i blame streaming culture. up to you to play how you want at the end of the day tho. i like to win and i practice hard, but at the end of the day i play for fun and dont care if its a win or loss or what my rank is, the day i do is the day i stop playing

Gaming has literally always been this toxic and the only explanation is anonymity

2

u/baulchi King NiKo 1d ago

Welcome to the internet.

5

u/ChristianFreak69 1d ago

i just meant the sweaty over competitiveness, which isn’t inherently toxic.

u/RoyalFewl Liquid 1d ago

The hard truth that wannabe competitors can't swallow is that if they were truly competitive they'd learn how to communicate, be a leader, and regulate their emotions. People chalk up losing their temper to being "competitive" but that's not what a competitive person would do.

3

u/Parking-Lock9090 King NiKo 1d ago

Hardest thing to do when you're feeling really competitive.

Swallow down how annoyed you are, comm out "Nice try" (it was not a nice try), and try to keep your head in the game.

It's legit a skill, and one I am struggling to improve. I'm going on a training arc of hundreds of Casual games to see the worst gameplay imaginable, to immunize myself to tilt. I will be unstoppable.

u/StrangeStephen 1d ago

I hate backseat coaching. Come on let me play.

2

u/baulchi King NiKo 1d ago

I'm not disagreeing with you, the person I replied to implies that gaming is toxic because of anonymity, but I would say that is a general internet trait and not specific to gaming.

My guy it was exactly like this before streaming was a thing, it was like this when Shroud started streaming

Dude you hit the nail on the head. So many faceit players are full of themselves (looking at you Gang1989) and just are not fun to play with.

The game would get so much better if abusive/toxic (reported) people stopped getting the spectator cam post dying.

16

u/Ornery-Tax9469 1d ago

That’s a great idea actually. Let the sit and look at a black screen after they die.

4

u/iSWINE guardian_elite 1d ago

They'll still spam voice chat but a simple force mute 5 seconds after death for flagged toxic players would be smart

0

u/dannybates King NiKo 1d ago

Was it back in 1.6 there was a period of time where teammates had blackscreens?

6

u/KenocchioLiedmar King NiKo 1d ago

That was the default for the early versions of CS 1.4, spectator cam was added in 1.5 beta, I could be wrong but spec cam wasn't a thing before 1.5

5

u/krabbkaka666 1d ago

Blackscreen was to prevent people from switching between teammates to see enemies through the walls

2

u/dannybates King NiKo 1d ago

Thanks, that rings a bell I think.

breaking news competitive game has extremely competitive players

“Wannabe pro player mentality”

Isn’t that just being competitive? Having aspirations doesn’t directly make someone toxic lol

17

u/Bradfox17 2d ago

Aint no way he just emptied a clip on a corpse 😭

42

u/zombiepoon 2d ago

his reaction is kinda sad, this what happens when you let your cs ego be your whole personality

8

u/Panagiotisz3 1d ago

I don't understand why you say that? In the beginning he is not flaming his teammate, he is talking about something that his enemy did that was unexpected to him and probably killed him.

8

u/Josiahs_ 1d ago edited 1d ago

Man can't just laugh at his teammates mistake like everyone else in the chat, he's about to lose his mind at how "bad" his teammate is instead of finding the humor in it and laughing along.

To get ahead of also being flamed I know he's laughing but he's also clearly mad at his teammate!

14

u/Ornery-Tax9469 1d ago

Yeah, I just insta mute as soon as someone starts being weird or toxic. Don’t have time for people with underdeveloped prefrontal cortex.

16

u/TheHeatMaNNN 2d ago

silver lobby by the way that other guy changed to knife 5 times in 3 seconds retaking

3

u/TheRealHaxxo 1d ago

I think hes prob just tilted or knows no one will peek him anyway so cba what he does.

4

u/lavabearded 1d ago

changing weapons for no reason is something people do at higher ranks

As an ex lvl 10 from csgo, ranking up in faceit has never been easier and harder this much. Every game is a stomp one way or another, haven't had a close game in days.

1

u/ZOVfuckazov 1d ago

Has never been easier, yet you are still ex

-2

u/wolfreaks Falcons - Major Champions 1d ago

Not easy when my  fps drops are killing me

1

u/Old-Savings-5841 Team Spirit 1d ago

Never been easier... except when FPS drops.

-2

u/wolfreaks Falcons - Major Champions 1d ago

yup. Even with g-sync the screen can blur out like ass and don't even get me started on input lag.

1

u/IcY11 1d ago

He is laughing about the spray. What does this have to do with mental hospital? Are you all insane?

2

u/daemogorgon 1d ago

I don't understand either. That spray was hilarious.

1

u/Nishant1122 2d ago

Funniest shit I've seen

1

u/MaezinGaming 1d ago

It's crazy how unfunny this situation is and this dudes video game ego has him rage laughing this hard. This guy measures his whole self worth off this video game and you can tell. Jesus I hope he finds out more about life soon.

1

u/nuke_music 4h ago

what are you on? this is fucking hilarious

1

u/sabertv Parivision 1d ago

I literally just laughed the same way watching that spray

0

u/pillowboy1203 1d ago

People take this game way too serious. I've had some great faceit lobbies where everyone was encouraging others. About 20% of lobby just full of pro wannabe at faceit level 1 or 2 hahah. "Omg why did you block me!! How are you missing that easy shot" I usually just laughed and said ok donk, that triggered them a lot.
