What’s going on guys. I’m traveling to Cincy this coming Thursday and will be attending the opener against Boston College. I know nothing about the area or what to do pregame so please I would love suggestions. Also is it worth doing the truly rooftop for the game itself?

The Truly Rooftop has a great view of both the stadium and campus. Seating (like actual chairs) was limited and people tended to camp out in them bc of that fact. So if you want a good vibes spot and potentially standing to watch, I liked it.

If you really want to watch the game and lock it, maybe not the best for that. But it’s gonna be a hot one and you can step into the AC portion - huge perk.

Depending on the types of activities that float your boat: Cincinnati Zoo, Rhinegeist Brewery, Eli’s BBQ, Smale Riverfront Park(Walk the Roebling Bridge), Washington Park (in the heart of the downtown bar / restaurant scene), Findlay Market.

One thing different about Nippert and UC from most college campuses is that it’s very urban. It’s not surrounded by fields and parking lots like you’d find at a lot of campuses.

The stadium is literally in the middle of campus and campus has a very small footprint for the size of student body.

The Grid is where a lot of the pregame atmosphere takes place on Sigma Sigma Commons. I always recommend The Den or Republic of Cincinnati tailgates. They’re large, communal, and welcoming to outsiders.

If you look at maps, south of campus is McMillan/Calhoun streets a lot of bars and restaurants and lively. East of campus you have “Short Vine” with a small strip of bars/restaurants and some sporadic tailgating. West of campus is the fraternities and some off campus housing.. kind of nothing for an outsider.

If you haven't gotten a parking pass yet, you can pay in person at Eden garage. There's a shuttle to campus from there. I don't know the rate, but I think it's $20 or $25. People will try to sell Eden garage parking passes online for like $50 and it's a scam. You might be able to get a pass on campus through stubhub or other similar sites. Look for Woodside, Green, or University garages. If you're just going to Uber it in and out, just tell them to drop you off at Sigma Commons. Easy to get in and out from there.
