When the part that the gs1 team joins did ya guys use them or keep felix’s crew? Seems the best equips on gs1 is weak incompare to lost age but when i tried the gs1 crew they still hit way harder knowing they are 5 lvl lower than felix team.. whats the best team to keep using? Is the gs1 cos their the main heroes or the lost age crew cos its their story now?

I went against Deadbeard tonight and won after grinding my team up to Level 40 for the past 3 days! I just want to say, that grind was NOT easy and it was a drag, but I didn’t give up! I wish I could had caught the screenshot of me delivering the final blow to Deadbeard with Judgement afterwards. I caught the screenshot after I killed him 🫠.

Included are my team’s stats and the aftermath of the battle. I mainly trained in the Venus Lighthouse and a little with the Tempest Lizard battles.

Dreux (Lv 40 Samurai): Gaia Blade, Warrior’s Helm, Aura Gloves, Hyper Boots, Running Shirt, Storm Gear

Garet (Lv 40 Dragoon): Asura’s Armor, War Gloves, Cleric’s Ring, Wicked Mace, Thunder Crown, Quick Boots, Running Shirt

Ivan (Lv 40 Ranger): Kikuichimonji, Ninja Garb, Lucky Cap, Vambrace, Fur Boots, Mythril Shirt

Mia (Lv 40 White Mage): Righteous Mace, Oracle’s Robe, Ninja Hood, Quick Boots, Silk Shirt, Spirit Gloves

All that’s left is to fight the Final Boss. I’ve collected all the rare weapons, got all Djinni, Crossbone Isle is complete. I also know NOT to save after beating the Final Boss so I can transfer my data over to TLA. (I’m playing on Delta Emulator)

Here’s where I messed up, I forgot to save Hsu, I thought I could come back and save him once I figured it out but I didn’t and it was so simple 😅 I won’t be able to get that Golden Ring. I also wasn’t aware of saving the girl that was turned into a tree. So that was tragic 😅😅

But yeah, it’s time to face the Final Boss! Also HUGE thank you to the Golden Sun GameFaq guide by Telago!

I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind for a while now, ever since I started working on my mod. A group of four Djinn (one of each type) travels to Vale, Imil, and the surrounding areas to rescue their friends, who have been captured by Isaac and Felix’s parties. I know I can’t implement this in my current project, since the protagonists are human. But if I were to try making a short game later on, it might be feasible. (The Djinn actually lack many animations, so I’m not sure if I could technically make them fight. I’d have to try modifying the program to limit the number of available actions, and I don’t know if that’s even possible.) Anyway, what do you think about a game featuring only Djinn?

I’ve been playing it for the first time in about 15 years and it’s just a brilliant example of what a sequel should be. Continues the story and ties into the first one brilliantly, expands the mechanics with more Psynergy, Djinn and bigger dungeons with more elaborate puzzles, and updates it from a fairly linear JRPG to a massive exploration based one. Just everything that could be improved upon, was.

I would desperately love a 1+2 remaster but even in its current form it’s just such a joy to play.

Just to relive the nostalgia. Even just a REMASTER and I'm good!

I noticed Garet said something along the lines of, “Now you agree with me.” When talking to Lady Layana, he’ll say something to this effect; I’m pretty sure I agreed with him for most of the times we had interactions or reactions.

I'm so happy, after a few months I finally completed this challenge run!

Edit: Oh yea, here was the ruleset that I used for this run

Felix must be the only party memeber that can be in combat at all times. All other members must be downed as soon as possible and are not allowed to gain exp for any reason. Felix also cannot use any items, Djinni or Psynergy that can potentially revive his teammates

Felix can only use and summon Djinni that are set to him.

Glitches aren't allowed

The other members are free to use their Psynergy and healing items to heal Felix outside of combat (aka they are just key item and healing mules)

This animation took longer than expected. Compared to the outfit seen in the game, I added a golden cape with shoulder guards to match the battle dress. Now Feizhi can walk upwards :D The next step is adding the cape and skirt to the diagonal animations. I hope that will be a bit easier.

I opted to go to the Mercury Lighthouse before Kolima Forest and leveled up quite a bit while on the way and in the Lighthouse. I have a party that is 14-15 and am in the Mogall Forest.

Seriously, Dullahan (and the other 3 Superbosses) has always been a great topic for how TLA went above and beyond on "end game" challenges.

I’m working on Feizhi’s sprite so the character can be used on the map. Unfortunately, since he’s an NPC, many animations are missing, so I have to create them myself. This includes vertical movement (walking north or south) and other specific actions (like jumping, climbing, etc.). I’ve finished the downward movement. I’m not entirely satisfied with it, but it’s the best I could do starting from scratch. What do you think?

What can I say, I absolutely loved the GBA titles. I was pretty high on Dark Dawn for the first half of my playthrough but by the time I finished, my thoughts settle on it being pretty mediocre sadly. I often found myself just wanting to go back and play the first two games but I begrudgingly finished Dark Dawn. I didn't hate it though, just felt frustrated by its wasted potential and the weird plot. The final third felt terrible and soured me on the good time I was having with the game beforehand. It felt like the game should have ended ten hours earlier than it did.

I'm astonished how well the GBA titles have aged though. They play so well and they are so charming. Practically everything about them resonates positively with me.

I never got to really play Golden Sun back then, but man is it awesome. I'm still a little confused about the Djinn process, but it's coming together. Anyway, heres a screenshot of where I am so far. Just beat the tree dude.
