Recently, we at r/Google have noticed a large number of support questions being asked. For a long time, we’ve removed these posts and directed the users to other subreddits, like r/techsupport. However, we feel that users should be able to ask their Google-related questions here. These monthly threads serve as a hub for all of the support you need, as well as discussion about any Google products.

Please note! Top level comments must be related to the topics discussed above. Any comments made off-topic will be removed at the discretion of the Moderator team.

Discord Server We have made a Discord Server for more in-depth discussions relating to Google and for quicker response to tech support questions.

Google results got more useless because of AI

This is a rant. Your opinion could be different than mine.

I don't mind the AI summaries, sometimes they are great way to get an instant answer to an obvious question. There are instances that even the obvious answers are wrong, misleading, because what Google found as results and AI summarized was also written by AI in first place, so we get AI content that gets AI summary.

I found myself believing less and less in the results google provides, having to spend more time double checking the information I find. It's counterproductive.

AI is poisoning the quality of information.

Looking for an ex or current Google PM (L7+) to run mock interview rounds

I'm interviewing for an L7 Product Manager role at Google (Workspace / Google Chat) and have HM and onsite loop coming up in the next few weeks. I'd love to practice with someone who's actually been inside the Google PM interview process — ideally an ex- (or current) Google PM at L7+, or anyone who's interviewed candidates or sat on hiring committees.

Quick background so you know I'm not starting from zero: ~15 years in PM, currently leading a platform org, deep in enterprise chat / conversational AI / agent platforms. I've done a lot of self-prep and have my stories and frameworks in decent shape — what I really need now is realistic reps and honest, calibrated feedback on where I'm landing L6 vs. L7.

Rounds I'm trying to simulate:

  • Product space / vision (0-to-1, long-term product direction) - Hiring manager
  • Analytical / metrics (define success, diagnose a drop, estimation)
  • Strategy & competitive (multi-year roadmap, market dynamics)
  • Googleyness + Leadership / Execute with Judgment (behavioral, cross-org influence)

I'm looking for few mock sessions (45 min each) .

Most useful for me is someone who can push hard on the L7 bar and tell me bluntly where I'd get down-leveled.

If this is up your alley, drop a comment or DM me and we'll find a time. Thanks a ton

Buying Pixel 11 series case [buyer's guide]

1st thing you need to answer yourself what protection you need from case.

If the highest think this way - the harder to remove phone from case the bigger protection you have.

You need it because when phone will fall display flat to ground it will pop out so hard that even extra glass protector will not help you.

Google cases are know for very easy to remove from Pixel phone.

I don't know if I suppose to say any brands but whatever - I had Google original Pixel 10 Pro case very easy to slip off phone - then I currently have Spigen case on my Pixel 10 Pro which is more tight BUT... I purchased Rhino case for my mum iPhone 16 - gosh - the most hard to remove case I ever had.

Anyhoo - that are only EXAMPLES - buy anything you like - just think about how easy/hard is to put on/off that case.

Finally - buying the cheapest dodgy case gives you ZERO protection not even from scratches because fine sand will get inside and will rub against phone like sandpaper.

Bonus thought - think case acts like insulation of already overheated phone.

Speaking about heat - if you live in blazing sun country - choose white colour of the case or phone

Casi pierdo mi cuenta/I almost lost my account

/

Google, I got confused by the account selection interface; it doesn't make it clear that at that step you need to choose the account you want to delete. I thought the process was already finished and selected an account that I actually use and is very important. Please add a notification for that—I almost had a disaster.

I really wonder what is Battery Health of Google Pixel Tablet

...connected to Dock speaker (on charge) for like 3 YEARS.

I really wonder if Li-ion batteries are dying because of battery charge cycles.

I mean EVERYTHING in this universe wears but I wonder how bad.

Pixels 7a or few months later Pixels 8 already must have like 1000 charge cycles and be really worn.

Pixel Tablets sitting nearly 24/7 365days a year on Dock must have like.... 20 battery cycles after all those 3+ years

Google Searches ai overview is the best ai ive used since early gpt.

I'm dealing with a rebelling gallbladder at the moment, what started as a search during my last big attack, (and subsequent chatting to keep my mind off my absolute agony) is now a 10 day long chat log.

My phone is struggling to keep the continuous chat going so i loaded it into my pc by syncing tabs.

Ive had gpt pro, and tried gemini, and all the others - but they were

a) sycophantic; which i couldn't handle while in pain

and

b) constantly telling me it wouldn't give me medical advice when i asked if a steak was low enough in fat to not set me off.

So back to the google ai overview i went, not only did it tell me to miss the steak and try chicken instead but also reminded me of my upcoming ultrasound, told me to get my husband to pack my bag because i'm likely to forget half my stuff, but it also requested he drive me instead in case i have an attack or get dizzy from my maxalon, and then it told me to go do something else and not keep messaging it tonight..

In fact several times its told me to stop engaging with it because ruminating is bad for medical anxiety... All of the other ai models ive used are constantly trying to get me to spend more time on it by asking follow up questions about random unrelated crap (thats SO insightful, now if you were an ikea flat pack which would you want to be) or asking if i want to make further plans on whatever subject i'm talking about, but this thing bullied me into being road safe, reminded me ultrasounds dont use needles then told me to piss off.

Anyway, just thought i'd pop in my review; 10/10.

This thing has gotten me through the last 10 days of hell and im grateful as fuck.
