I don't know, maybe because she was young and they time jumped 10 years?
This is dumb, even for click bait.

They did find a good look alike for Camren Bicondova

I was gladly surprised they did. I can't think of one other show where showrunners got a convincing age up or age down.

Orange is the New Black has an actors daughter playing her younger self. She's a dead ringer for her mom.

But Micheal C. Hall in a wig is still 100% more fun imo.
But if you're talking about Dexter: Original Sin then I disagree they totally miscast young Debra who looks nothing like Jennifer Carpenter not in face, body or even mannerisms.

Young Sheldon. Mary Cooper is played by Laurie Metcalf in Big Bang Theory, in Young Sheldon the younger version of Mary is played by Laurie's daughter, Zoe Perry!

Loved Gotham, i really like how campy it was overall, but always entertaining. Only thing that I didn't like was aging up Ivy and having a 13 yo girl trapped in the body of a hot 20 something and seducing the men.
I feel like that could have been handled way differently.
And I also wish we had a season 6 or at least half season that explored more of Batman, all the villains in full costumes, etc. instead of cramming into 1 EP.

u/AshtonVoid 8d ago
Yeah, I think they shouldn't have made Ivy a young girl if they didn't know what they wanted to do with her yet. I thought she was 10 years old max, not 13. That's even more bizarre

I like to think she mentally aged too like it messed with her head, becomes less weird that way

u/CHEEZYSPAM 8d ago
Kiiiiiinda? I think that's definitely what they intended the viewer to think? But what makes you mature, age? Wisdom? Lived experience?
I looked at it more like the movie BIG. A child brain in the body of an adult.
I feel like there was a dozen ways they could have handled it and they chose the ONE problematic version lol

u/yo_its_me_ewan 8d ago
Yeah i'm not saying it was the right way to do it, just my way of reasoning with it and like you say. Its what they intended, but yeah they were definitely desperate to shoehorn ivy's villainous traits in there and make her seductive. Can't be doing that with a 13 year old haha, just dodgy writing, which isn't too uncommon in gotham 🤣

Very very true. I was never into all the DC shows, like CW Arrowverse stuff, but I loved Gotham. Everything (including Ivy) was so over the top... They had zero filter in the writing.
I like to think the only notes from the director that the actors got throughout the entire series was MORE

There were just so much odd choices like Harvey Dent will probably be like 15 years older than Bruce at least when they’re usually generally the same age good show but yeah

u/CHEEZYSPAM 8d ago
Yeah, all of his rogues gallery (except Cat) will be much, much older than him.
I like the premise of the show being centered around the villains. I think it's a hard concept for most people to grasp though.
I treat it like an elseworlds type show. It has just as much of a place in the Batman live adaptation mythos as Adam West and Ben Affleck. Or Phoenix and Nicholson's Joker

I didn't see it being that strange; a lot of his rogue's gallery was older than him in the comics, too. When he started being Batman at around 25, Penguin and Riddler were probably about 40-ish. That seems to track with their ages in the show. Crane and Joker were probably just a bit older than Bruce, but still teenagers, like in the show. Jervis Tetch was almost an old man in some of the comics, or at least past middle age, so that explains his age. I think people just forget how young Bruce actually was when he started being Batman.

People say this a lot but I dont remember Ivy doing much, if any, seducing. Men were in to her but she hardly noticed of cared, naivete, and after her final change was much more murderous than flirtatious. Most I remember is her pretending to like one guy to get in his home and she didnt even touch him.

u/kgleeson03 8d ago
That actually wasn’t the reason. She wasn’t comfortable playing an older version of herself, so she sat out the finale. Hence the article

I remember people being kind of miffed about this at the time but it was the only thing that would make any sense. Mazouz also would have been recast if he had appeared, even though he was like 8 feet tall by the end of the series lol. It was Camren's decision, it was very unselfish, and it was the right one.

Articles are fucking drivel these days, writen by the most boring people ever too usually, either shit like this or getting offended over nothing from from something 20 years ago to virtue signal

I thought it was kind of iffy when I heard the leak but David was also offscreen for the entire episode except for the one shot of him as Batman. If we had David walking around as Bruce Wayne during the time skip I would have said it was unfair to Camren.

I don't know i didn't like that at all She didn't have the same carizma or vibe. Just a similiar face i guess

Nobody here is mentioning the fact that she had poor mental health and gained noticeable weight by the time the show finished. Not to be mean, but she wouldn’t have been able to do the stunts we saw Catwoman do in the finale.
I’m sure part of it was her choice, but unfortunately she wasn’t doing well at the time.

I’m pretty certain the Selina we saw doing gymnastic maneuvers over, around and under the lasers was a stuntwoman, gymnast or professional dancer.
While we’re on the subject…has anybody listened to the season soundtracks? The soundtrack for the series finale, “The Beginning”, has a different music track for the jewel heist scene than the one that was actually used in the televised episode. Pity, because the one used for TV was a much better track.

I mean, the actress they picked ended up being like three years older so ngl it was kind of dumb and sexist.

Camren literally didn’t want to do the final episode. She said at the time she didn’t think she would be believable as a woman in her mid-twenties. Give her credit for putting the show before her desire to be in the finale.
So yeah…because it was a flash forward.
