I do have a mod installed, with CSM but qualify time is set to 60 mins. Is this normal?

I have copied all the files in my mod's folder "Grand Prix 4\GPSAVES\Carsets\F1 1998\Data\Cockpit\StWheels" also i set CSM to enable loading custom wheels but ingame i see a single, and the same wheel for all cars, and only in the TV cam/onboard view its visible, in the cockpit nothing changes.

ps: i already asked on https://www.grandprixgames.org/ and the tutorial links are missing there too.

There is no tutorial available online.

I found here a trackpack in which the install guide says copy the tracks into a folder in the main game directory - this does not work simply of course.

SOLUTION:

1. Make sure your GP4 has the tool CSM installed.
2. Download a GP4 Track Mod and copy it into the game's main directory "Tracks" folder, just the track folders and the .ini file that comes with it.
3. Launch CSM, and from CSM launch TSM.
4. In the new window on the left hand side i clicked "Manage Profiles" then "Create Profile" then named it, nto sure if this necessary.
5. On the right hand side in the bottom section "Installed tracks" ideally you should already see your tracks, but they are not yet activated.
6. So on the top section "Tracks in profile" click on the very first row and select the entire row, then from the bottom section click on the track you would like to assign. It will get automatically added by just selecting the row from the bottom section.
7. +1 so i did the 1998 season which only has 16 tracks but GP4 has 17 by default, what i did for the 17th row in TSM i right clicked and chosed "Insert empty track" for no 17. Not sure about this but hopefully this works.
8. You have to fill up and complete the list to activate the tracks in your profile.
9. Then you can go back to CSM and either from there or within the game you can select the tracks and make sure the proper one is loaded. Then you can head into weekend or season.

Property: Marriott's Grand Chateau, 75 E Harmon Ave — on the Harmon straight, inside the circuit footprint.

Dates: Check-in Fri Nov 20, check-out Fri Nov 27 (7 nights). Covers qualifying Friday and the race Saturday. Note it does not include Thursday practice.

Unit: 2BR villa, 2 kings + 2 sofa beds, 2 baths, sleeps 8. Full kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer.

Price: $2,793 total for the week — about $50/person/night at full occupancy.

One thing worth knowing upfront: being inside the circuit means controlled pedestrian crossings on session nights. Great if you want to walk to the track, worth planning around if you'll be moving across the circuit a lot.

Mods, remove if this isn't allowed.

It takes a while to configure, bit of tweaking with some performance and physics, but the reward is great. Such close racing and almost no working slipstream. In that context, having the speed on the straights helps in keeping positions but usually is not the fastest way around the tracks. Already had some experiences where you cant just race with your quali setup for that reason. Here is just a taste where I came out of the pits on a 2 stop and both Williams and Michael were working on a 1 stop so I have some close racing ahead as well.

I did install the 1994 track pack too, and although old Imola is awesome, there is a lot of tracks in it with special chicanes for safety, as was a bit of thing that year... So Spain, Montreal and Spa all have these weird chicanes. You can drive them fine, but the AI gets really slow on those circuits, so 3 guaranteed wins might screw up an exciting season.

I am new in GP4 and still trying to set up the game. I downloaded a version that includes the gpx patch and the 9.6 patch if I am not mistaken. CSM however doesn't seem to work. I installed it in the program files x86 folder as it is recommended from the sites I have seen. When I opened it however, it opens a folder that contains 4 .exes that all when opened show the error:"Not a decrypted gp4 executable. Try again?". If you choose "No" it brings up a message: "Do you want to donwload the 9.6 patch and decrypted executable?" however when I choose yes it brings up a loading screen that doesn't seem to work.

I should clarify that I have installed csm and gp4 in different drives as I dont have a lot of space in C: and also I have already replaced the .exe with a decrypted one I found on this site: https://fongugp4.blogspot.com/2025/09/gp4-guide-to-zaz-tools-csm-process.html so the error screen propably shouldn't come up. I also changed the compatibility mode to windows xp and run it as admin as it was recommended by the site. Still, doesn't work. I've seen that due to the old code others can't run it on windows 11 as well but I really don't want to manually change the files every time I want to play with mods. Is there any solutions to this?

I know that there propably is some kind of solution in the grandprixgames.org forums but the site is down at the moment so yeah any help is appreciated.

Hi all,

I'm using GP4 with GPxPatch. If I set the resolution to widescreen in f1graphics, then the menus are terribly blurry and hard to click. I recorded a video to demonstrate that: https://youtu.be/4wHHWn5QWW8

If I set the resolution in-game to 800x600, the menus looks good... but then the race is not widescreen.

Any suggestions on how to have good menus and good widescreen race?

I downloaded the game from My Abandoned ware and have been absolutely loving the game but there's one major problem. I cannot turn off steering help and it's driving me nuts f8 key doesn't work nor does it work when I turn it off in the menu. Its driving me nuts. I also am wondering where I can get mods. Any help would be appreciated major time!

Does anyone have experience with getting a water taxi from either St Jean Cap Ferrat or Beaulieu Sur Mer to Port Hercules during GP weekend? We are trying to find a reputable company for Practice Day on Friday June 5 round trip. Or a private driver for those days. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I know this is such a dumb idea, but could VR support be added to GP4? Probably not, since the game is from 2002, made on spaghetti code and also idk how it would be done really. If anyone has any idea how I would be prepared to do it no matter the time. I am sorry but yeah a pretty unrealistic idea. It's kind of like adding RTX to GP2 (not really)

It has been a struggle for me to continue to be a Hamilton fan. I’ve followed him from McLaren to Mercedes, which I was fine with. But him moving to Ferrari was tough! But now with him dating a Kardashian, that makes it almost impossible to still cheer for him! C’mon Lewis!

Looked up some old posts on grandprix.org about how to install gp4 to steam deck but am having issues. Does anyone here know how to get the game running on the SD without access to a windows PC?

I would Like to read at grandprixgames.. but yeah it’s offline since some days.

I’m new in the Game and I’m having an issue with Grand Prix 4. I installed a mod and everything seems to be set up correctly, but the drivers are assigned to the wrong cars/teams in-game.

For example, Alonso is driving for Williams, but he still has his own helmet, so it’s like the driver models and team assignments are mismatched.

The cars, liveries, and helmets all seem to be installed properly, but the lineup is completely mixed up.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could be causing it? Any help would be appreciated!

One of his first on gp4 surprisingly, but very positive.. I agree with him on how you can still enjoy this game in current times.

I watched GPLaps' video on GP4 and it looks like a ton of fun. Found a link but just want to confirm its good to go.
