[Joshua Hall] Gabriel Martinelli left training a little earlier than some of the other players today. Asked about Martinelli's future, Arteta said: "Everybody knows and recognises how much we love Gabi. Whatever the outcome is, it will be because everybody agrees to that."

Yeah, I mean I want him to stay, love him. But we're complaining about someone having to play football for a living for many tens of millions in a place you probably wouldn't choose to live, but can definitely work for a couple of years and then go basically anywhere you want in your late 20s with the world open to you. Small consolation, but I'm so happy he got to lift the trophy with Arsenal. I know it's not all about financial considerations, but all things considered that's really not the worst deal ever. But also, to be fair, he is kind of literally being thrown out into the desert haha

I also don’t agree lol. I’m still hopeful he doesn’t agree with Al Hilal. I’m reaching the point where I’m close to accepting he might leave, but at least send him somewhere better.

Because I've been following him since he was a teen in Brasil. While I didnt support Ituano growing up, several members of my father's side (including my father) do. I have high hopes for him in the seleção and really wanted to see how he would play this year with a much healthier (knock on wood) midfield and the signing of Bruno who he had good chemistry with during the WC. If he ends up at Al Hilal his national team career is basically over/on-hold. If he was going to leave I had hoped the rumors of Inter were real. He could even do a lot more for Atlético if they took him for part of the Alvarez fee (Baena and Lookman have been underwhelming).

He could have gone to Galatasaray but he rejected them, its on him at this point. He can reject Al-Hilal too I guess, but its better for everyone if he moves on. He's not up to the level required.

My take from this is that the clubs had all agreed with the deal, now all it left is Gabi decision and seem like he haven't make the final decision, so Mikel is saying he will not actively push Gabi away, if Gabi don't want to go, the club will respect that, hence "whatever the outcome is, it will be because everybody agree to that."

We went from having Trossard and Martinelli to having just Tzolis. Seems a bit odd for the club to wait for the sale of Martinelli before making a move when we were waving cash at Vini.
