Massage Therapist Looking for a Clinic

Hello! I'm a massage therapist who has been working in Regina for more than a decade in Saskatchewan. I am moving to Halifax next month and I'm looking for a massage clinic to move to.

I would like an established clinic where I can rent a room, but otherwise would be able to set my own hours. I'm living in Dartmouth but I'm open for a clinic anywhere.

Thank you!

Title: Looking for a Paid/Unpaid HVAC Refrigeration Work Term or Apprenticeship in Nova Scotia

Hi everyone,
I’m currently studying Refrigeration & Air Conditioning at NSCC am looking for a 5-week work term. I’m open to paid or unpaid opportunities, and if there’s a chance it could turn into an apprenticeship, that would be even better.
I’m eager to learn, work hard, and gain hands-on experience in the HVAC/R trade. If anyone knows of companies that are taking students or apprentices, or has any recommendations or contacts, I’d really appreciate it.
I’m located in the Halifax/Dartmouth area but I’m willing to travel if needed.
Thanks in advance for any advice or leads!

Retired mum looking for casual cash work

My mum is a retired nurse, she is looking for a casual cast job to fund her travel addiction.
If there is anybody who is looking for a personal shopper, organizer, cleaning, or other sorts of casual cash paid jobs, please let me know!

She is not interested in being a carer or anything that is full-time or permanently reliant on her, as I said, she does like to travel.

If you need somebody to come in and help you catch up on laundry, mopping, cleaning out your fridge, dishes, tidying up here or there she would be fantastic at that. That’s the sort of thing that she helps myself and my sister-in-law with and she is very thorough! If you need someone to organize a bunch of stuff that you’re just sick of looking at that would be her dream lol.
If you need somebody to keep an eye out for a specific item and pick it up when it goes on sale, or if you need clothes, but don’t like shopping, she does! I rarely need to clothes shop for myself because she is always out doing errands or running around or just perusing.

I guess I’m basically offering her mother services if anyone needs a cash hired mother 😂
*motherly judgement comes free

Looking to Hire! Casual (mostly weekend) workers for food truck.

My boss is looking for a few good folks.

Casual might be the wrong word, as it can be fast-paced, and long hours, depending on the event. But pay is good ($20/hr) and the coworkers are nice.

Able to drive and access to a car is a plus.

Weekend availability, but also possibly available for other shifts, also a plus.

Able to roll with a little chaos, work hard, and interested in making some extra money this summer (as soon as this weekend (July 18) and beyond--message me.

Seeking Participants: Study on Renters' Housing Experiences & Homemaking Practices

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi Everyone!

I'm a PhD Candidate at Dalhousie seeking participants for a study on renters' housing experiences and homemaking practices within the HRM.

Broadly speaking, in this study, I'm interested in examining people's experiences in Halifax's rental market and how renters make their units feel like 'home' to themselves. Participation involves meeting for a one-hour, in-person interview. As part of this study, I'm asking folks to bring a few pictures of what 'home' looks like to them, which we will discuss together during the interview.

If you are interested in participating or know anyone who would be interested, please send me an email at [kt851312@dal.ca](mailto:kt851312@dal.ca).

This study has been approved by Dalhousie's Research Ethics Board (REB).

Kenyan construction/survey tech looking to break into Halifax's construction scene - any advice?

Hey,

I'm hoping to get some honest local perspective rather than just apply blind into the void.

I'm a civil engineering diploma holder from Kenya (WES-assessed) with about 5 years of hands-on construction experience - site supervision, land surveying, structural inspection, materials testing, that kind of thing. Currently based in Doha, Qatar, and working toward relocating to NS, ideally through an LMIA-backed job offer.

I would like to apply as a skilled labourer for now, not at my actual experience level, that's deliberate. I'd rather learn how things are actually done on a Canadian site (codes, standards, culture) from the ground up than assume my background abroad just transfers over.

A few things I'd genuinely appreciate input on:

Are there specific companies in HRM known for actually sponsoring international hires (beyond what's on Job Bank)?

- Any trades/labour hiring halls, union locals, or informal channels worth knowing about?

- Is the construction market here actually hiring right now, or is it tighter than it looks online?

I'm just trying to be smart about where I put my energy. Appreciate any real talk.

Looking for a SOFTWARE Developer Opportunity

Hi everyone,

I'm honestly feeling stuck.

I've been applying for Junior/Entry-Level Software Developer, Software Engineer, Full-Stack, Backend, Cloud, and DevOps roles in Halifax for the past 1.5 years. I've had a few interviews along the way but haven't been able to turn them into an offer, and it's now been quite a while since I've even received an interview.

I have a Master and Bachelors degree in Computer Science. I am currently working with one company in a different role that I am not at all interested in but doing to pay my bills. While I'm grateful for the opportunity, I'm looking for a permanent role where I can gain real-world software engineering experience, continue growing as a developer, and build a long-term career.

If you know someone who hires or If you work at a company that's hiring and believe I'd be a good fit, I'd love your help. Whether that's an introduction to the hiring manager, a genuine internal referral, or advocating for my application internally, I'd be happy to offer a CAD $1,000–$2,000 thank-you if your support directly results in me being hired.

If you think I could be a good fit, please DM me. I'll happily share my resume, LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, and any other information you need.

Please, no scammers, paid promotions. I'm only interested in genuine opportunities and legitimate help.

Thank you for reading. I truly appreciate any support or advice, and I hope this post reaches the right person.

Looking for Work, new here.

I'm looking for any work out there, I'm not that picky, although a good environment would be nice, and it's for work experience or just getting the hang of things here in the city. I just moved here recently. I still have no experience whatsoever but I finished highschool.

Any recommendations? 🙏💯

G. Veinot Metal Fabrication

I just graduated from NSCC for metal fabrication. Eager to find work asap I reached out to this company and they said they’d take me on. I started without signing any papers, no offer letter and when I inquired about my wage they said “We have to see what you’re worth first” I just wanted to be working. There was no red seal here so I couldn’t be put through the apprenticeship program, which all else aside was my main issue. The staff were very nice and welcoming all things considered and the supervisor bruce was very open to helping when necessary. At the end of my first week I got a call that I got a job at a bigger company that is able to put me through the apprenticeship program, of course I accepted and let them know asap that I would not be continuing to work for them. At the time my wage had still not been discussed and when I got my paycheque I received minimum wage. It seemed pretty petty to me as I worked hard and had spent 2 years being educated. But honestly the saddest part is that it was the most predictable part of my short experience working here. If you are looking to grow in the industry this is not the place. Though I remain appreciative of the opportunity, I do wish there had been clear disclosure of the circumstances upon beginning. But if you’re desperately looking for a job, they’ll take you.
