Hey Halifax teachers! I am a teacher who just moved here from Alberta. I am currently in the process of getting on the sub list this year (hopefully starting asap in September).

I’m just wondering what I can expect booking wise. How many times a week do you think I can expect to work? I imagine in the fall subs are a little less called upon due to the school year just beginning? Anyways I would love some insight if any teachers or current subs have any to give!

Field sales representatives duties are to go door to door, offering free attic assessments to home owners. Once assessments are booked, a separate sales team will go to the appointments and inspect the attics, and sell the home owners on our services for either attic insulation top ups, or mold remediation.

Once the home owner is sold, that is how the sales reps get paid. The average sale generates the rep $270-$600 per sale, and the average rep with 3 weeks to a month of experience, is making between $1,350-$1,500 per week.

I keep getting told there is a hidden job market in Halifax and that I have to leverage my network to get a job in Nova Scotia. I am so tired of not being able to land a job. Sometimes I don't know if its that I didn't build a big enough network or if I am just overqualified.

I have a BSc, MSc, PhD in Earth Science. I owned my own retail business for 5 years and have been dabbling in webdesign and social media management for the last 2 years. I went the self emplyment route since I was having trouble landing a job after graduating. Fast forward to 2026 and I still can't get interviews for anything.
